    I remember thinking this was a rules lite system and as you started your walkthrough I was getting that vibe. But the deeper we got in, I realized there a lot of fiddly bits to work with. I’m actually interested in the parry/durability rules for weapons. As for a name for your character may I suggest Mallory Quick, with the running joke being everyone misnames them “Quack”, to which your character quickly corrects them by saying “It’s Quick!”

    I've been curious about these books for a while. I'm not convinced they're for me but it's super cool to hear you're using them for spicing up the games you're running! Having these tools you click with and enjoy running games with is great! You're rightly proud for diving head first into GMing! I can only hope I find such courage myself one day as I find myself being a bit stuck with a game I started running before the summer times put things on hold a bit.

    These are really awesome books 📚. Thank you ☺️. I really enjoying GMing. You’ve got this. I’m on my last session in my campaign I’m running. We sometimes have to push things out because of people’s schedules. Today was supposed to be our last session but we had to cancel.

    If someone liked Fabled Lands I recommend Legendary Kingdoms, there are two books out at the moment (actually I did get the 3rd as pdf by contacting the publisher, there are some issues around the physical edition currently being resolved). The main difference is you have a party of 4 to play with instead of a single character. Very cool sandbox open world game, very easy for me to get into who loves crpg. I found it very easy to role-play the conversations and the interactions between the party compared to a solo character. Though that might be a limitation of the gamebook format, since the interactions with the npc's can feel a lot more limited, and harder for me to interpret around. I'll probably move away from gamebooks more towards ttrpg's when I'm done with this, and Rider of the Black Sun, which I still need to try out. Ker Nethalis looks very evocative.

    Ker Nethalas is on my top list so far for favorites. I appreciate all the info. I don’t think I’ve heard of Legendary Kingdoms but it sounds very interesting 🤔. I will definitely check it out. Have you played Colostle?

    I know magician never reveals her tricks, but I’m still trying to figure out how you do that book drop. Are you positioned under a flight of stairs? I own most of the books of this series and I agree they’re a great value considering the quality and content within. I’ve only skimmed through them in the past and your video makes me want to take a closer look at them soon, but I’ll wait until a certain adventure ends. I don’t have the Villains or Dragons books, so you’re safe there. Don’t know about our party though after what you said about the dragon book.

  • @LegendsDiceCafe
    @LegendsDiceCafe7 күн бұрын

    lol there are no stairs in our home 😂. Just a simple edit does the trick 😉. I used one out the Villains book for our past session. I think I’ll definitely look into another book for our last session. I’ve got a few ideas 💡.

    Good video! I came up with an oracle and story creation system in my Rising Legends ttrpg that can easily be brought over to creating original games in 5e. A solo player will be up and playing in 15 min if you are rolling up characters. 5 min if pre gen characters.

    I know you have a lot of things you are looking at Coach Key, but when you get a chance, you should check out "Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2E" system by Arion Games . The Deluxe book combines the core book, the setting book "Titan", and the first monster book "Out of the Pit" into a single book, or you can buy them individually for more flexibility). They have a new book for adventure creation and solo play: "Advanced Fighting Fantasy: Adventure Creation System'. I believe you'll find it interesting. The base system is rules light, but they have some supplements to add more options (such as the "Combat Companion", the "Heroes Companion" and the just released "Magic Companion" [currently a pdf but should be available in print in a couple weeks or so]and plenty of other supplements). It seems like a good system to solo play with (especially if you have the Adventure Creation System book).
