Nice! I love all the Dragonbane content you've got coming out. Can't wait for the next installment.
These are great books, they also have a book of astonishing random tables, its really helpful book too😄
I remember thinking this was a rules lite system and as you started your walkthrough I was getting that vibe. But the deeper we got in, I realized there a lot of fiddly bits to work with. I’m actually interested in the parry/durability rules for weapons. As for a name for your character may I suggest Mallory Quick, with the running joke being everyone misnames them “Quack”, to which your character quickly corrects them by saying “It’s Quick!”
You rock your videos rock and I hope our tables cross! Keep it up
Love Dragonbane, and the box set is great value for money. Free League really have the Midas Touch when it comes to making RPGs. Nice video!
I've been a D&D and Pathfinder player for decades. I didn't know about solo RPGs. Thank you, Queen.
Just played in a Dragonbane game yesterday with my regular Thursday night group. It was a blast. 😊
Sadly, mine is setting on the shelf getting dusty. Hoping to get it to the table soon
The solo rules work really well if it's tough getting a group together!
As if I wasn't already mad to play this game. Great video as always.
I've been curious about these books for a while. I'm not convinced they're for me but it's super cool to hear you're using them for spicing up the games you're running! Having these tools you click with and enjoy running games with is great! You're rightly proud for diving head first into GMing! I can only hope I find such courage myself one day as I find myself being a bit stuck with a game I started running before the summer times put things on hold a bit.
These are really awesome books 📚. Thank you ☺️. I really enjoying GMing. You’ve got this. I’m on my last session in my campaign I’m running. We sometimes have to push things out because of people’s schedules. Today was supposed to be our last session but we had to cancel.
If someone liked Fabled Lands I recommend Legendary Kingdoms, there are two books out at the moment (actually I did get the 3rd as pdf by contacting the publisher, there are some issues around the physical edition currently being resolved). The main difference is you have a party of 4 to play with instead of a single character. Very cool sandbox open world game, very easy for me to get into who loves crpg. I found it very easy to role-play the conversations and the interactions between the party compared to a solo character. Though that might be a limitation of the gamebook format, since the interactions with the npc's can feel a lot more limited, and harder for me to interpret around. I'll probably move away from gamebooks more towards ttrpg's when I'm done with this, and Rider of the Black Sun, which I still need to try out. Ker Nethalis looks very evocative.
Ker Nethalas is on my top list so far for favorites. I appreciate all the info. I don’t think I’ve heard of Legendary Kingdoms but it sounds very interesting 🤔. I will definitely check it out. Have you played Colostle?
@@LegendsDiceCafe I haven't, first time I've seen it 👀
I love these books. Highly recommend them also. So affordable for hardcover books. Great video Coach!
Thank you friend ☺️☺️☺️☺️!!
Coach Key, you should give Mutant Crawl Classics a try since you like DCC. Have some gonzo mutant post-apocalypse fun! =)
Thank you ☺️. It’s definitely on my list!!!!
I know magician never reveals her tricks, but I’m still trying to figure out how you do that book drop. Are you positioned under a flight of stairs? I own most of the books of this series and I agree they’re a great value considering the quality and content within. I’ve only skimmed through them in the past and your video makes me want to take a closer look at them soon, but I’ll wait until a certain adventure ends. I don’t have the Villains or Dragons books, so you’re safe there. Don’t know about our party though after what you said about the dragon book.
lol there are no stairs in our home 😂. Just a simple edit does the trick 😉. I used one out the Villains book for our past session. I think I’ll definitely look into another book for our last session. I’ve got a few ideas 💡.
Love 4AD. Thieves of Dorantia is a really good, and very different, setting that took me out of dungeons and into Troublesome Towns.
I’ve collected tons of 4AD books 📚. I’m really enjoying it.
If you like traps I would recommend the Grimtooth books of traps. The pdfs are on Drive-thru.
Thank you ☺️. I will check it out.
Ran my first solo session today and it went great. So excited to run the next with my veteran freighter pilot Dax Starstriker.
That’s awesome to hear 😃!!! I wish you loads of fun throughout your solo journey!!!!!
Today the new 2e just came to early backers, but I've not experienced 1e 😅
I’m excited for 2e ☺️!!!!
rly been thinking of starting my solo rpg journey, so glad i found u! ur work is excellent :>
Thank you so much ☺️!!!!! I wish you an AMAZING start & lots of fun!!!!!
This vid was so incredibly helpful 🤙
@@TheGamingWard That’s really awesome to hear ☺️. Thank you ☺️!!!!
@LegendsDiceCafe just found your channel and I absolutely love your energy. Keep that shit up 😁 about to show my entire dnd group your work
@@LegendsDiceCafe can't lie, I also may steal your mastery combo for my first run. Sounds SPICY lol
Aww thank you so much for such an awesome compliment ☺️☺️!!!! & sharing my content with your group!!!!!
lol 😂
Good video! I came up with an oracle and story creation system in my Rising Legends ttrpg that can easily be brought over to creating original games in 5e. A solo player will be up and playing in 15 min if you are rolling up characters. 5 min if pre gen characters.
Thank you so much ☺️. What you created for your game sounds very cool. I don’t think I’ve heard of Rising Legends but I’ll add that to my list to check out. I’m lol curious 👀 now.
I know you have a lot of things you are looking at Coach Key, but when you get a chance, you should check out "Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2E" system by Arion Games . The Deluxe book combines the core book, the setting book "Titan", and the first monster book "Out of the Pit" into a single book, or you can buy them individually for more flexibility). They have a new book for adventure creation and solo play: "Advanced Fighting Fantasy: Adventure Creation System'. I believe you'll find it interesting. The base system is rules light, but they have some supplements to add more options (such as the "Combat Companion", the "Heroes Companion" and the just released "Magic Companion" [currently a pdf but should be available in print in a couple weeks or so]and plenty of other supplements). It seems like a good system to solo play with (especially if you have the Adventure Creation System book).
Yeah 4 player characters sounds right
Definitely using 4 characters ☺️thank you.
This video was pretty cool! Keep it up. I loved the cat transition.
Thank you so much ☺️. Lol she did a good job 🐈.

☺️😊☺️
Cool video, but the audio was a little low. Look forward to the next part though.
Thank you 😊. Sorry about that. I didn’t notice the issue with the audio. I’ll work on that for the next one, thank you 😊.
Starting prep for my first Solo Campaign tomorrow. Going to be playing a pulp sci-fi setting for the FATE engine (Starblazer Adventures).
Oh that’s awesome 😎!!!! You have to let me know how it goes 😃!!!
Hahahah Key-Points!! Good one! And yes to the tables! Would love to add them to my Oracle files. 😊😊
lol 😂 I was hoping someone would get that!!! I’m working ok those tables now 😊.
I f**king love your energy! such positive vibes, style, and straight up coolness <3
Wow what an awesome compliment!!! I really appreciate that ☺️☺️. Thank you for watching, thank you for commenting & helping the channel out!!!! It means a lot 🥹.
Loves this video, great breakdown
Thank you 😊!!!
Thanks for sharing your journey as a new DM and your creative process. I too love DragonBane and am looking for a group to play here in Chicago. Keep up the passion for the game!
Thank you ☺️ & thank you for even taking time to watch.
My brain is literally going to explode if I try to cram in another TTRPG system right now, but I appreciate your step by step walkthrough of the solo rules for Dragonbane. I don't know that I want yet another game right now... but you presented it really well.
Thank you so much ☺️.
That was curious, I was thinking about solo play in a similar way, it is kind of an exercise in prep, and, I believe, in honin improv skills :)
It has definitely improved my skills as a GM ☺️.
Coach Key's videos are such a great way to kick off the weekend!
Awww thank you soooooo much ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️!!!!!!
