I've got both of these.. honestly, they work very similarly..The Carlyle are a little easier on your hard but they both do the job just the same

I have bought a ton on Doyle pliers and they all have been great, especially the curved handle wire strippers. But the Irvin pliers are much better the Doyle or Channellock. I have been replacing all of my Channellock with Irvin and Doyle.

Yeah whatever, I just ordered this driver which has since been rebranded by MLTOOLS. I have a gearless driver made by Gedore Tools that I love so I figured I’d give this one a shot. Says made in Canada but I highly doubt the ratchet mechanism and bits are made there.

If you state "budget" then it has to be in the context of the complexity of the tool. Anything more than $10 for those is not "budget". You can get the fancy generic brands of wire cutters for $13 as context. Granted that is today, back then the generics weren't as easy to come by but also, back then the value of the dollar was higher so it's a wash.

I agree very good value for the price. However, I could not figure out how to remove the sockets from the holder.

Did you not know that the Carlyle has the cutters just below the crimping parts above the pivot screw? That is one of the best features, it's insanely sharp and cuts wires like nothing. You knew about that...right? Looks like tbe neiko doesn't have that

The insides are actually nickel plated with a clear coat, trouble with Stanley is they don't usually clear coat the inside over the nickel chromate.

I bought mine at the same time and out of the same catalog but it's still going strong today, I rebuild caterpillar components and I use it daily. I lubed all of the tracks and the things I don't like and the plastic end caps on the drawers because they fall off and the pull handle falls off when pulling the tool box. The drawer locks get jammed with tools underneath occasionally, the price of this box has gone up substantially with inflation "2024" .

A few years ago the reason the single Stanley professional chrome socket sets went up in price is Stanley came out with 4 bigger mechanic tool sets that were sold mostly through like Walmart and Lowe's along with the kobalt stuff before they started carrying the craftsman after sears went out of business...

I have the gearwrench 3/8 120xp and the 1/4 90t socket sets and two husky brand mechanic tool sets the h149mts, and the h194 mts and the complete sae and metric shallow and deep well socket set including ratchet extension and the breaker bar in the lid by tekton is probably my favorite set other than the gearwrench mechanic tool sets.. because of the no skipping sizes

While Harbor Freight does carry a substantial amount of Made in USA products, virtually all of their hand tools are Made in China. I would much rather be in debt to my Snap-on tools dealer, supporting American made hand tools. At least the Snap-on truck comes by the shop weekly.

I sold 100's of these 410's as a matco tool distributor back in the 80's. Here's how you demonstrate their usefulness. Lock the head of a 1/4" or 5/16" bolt in a vise pointing up. Grab the threaded part or the bolt and twist it off. The threads will not be stripped, but merely have some jaw marks.
