Drops the fish and still posts the video. What a idiot
I’ll deffo check out the cable ties .. I hate having to lick or spit on the fingers to tie off the bags ..
They’re definitely worth a go mate, I’ve got fingers like sausages so I’m not exactly the most dexterous when it comes to fiddly things and finishing off bags without pulling the lead out of place was always a pain, also when it’s hot and I’ve got sweaty palms or it’s damp and the bag is trying to melt at the same time the whole thing became a right balls up. So I now buy the wet touch bags and use the PVA cable ties and I can get them done so much more neatly than I ever could.
Just checked on e bay… £4.65 post 🙄🙄where do you get them from
@craigknights4480 go to godman-angling.com/ and you'll be able to get them and all the other bits they do, think the postage is about the same which is why I buy in all the bits I need at once and save the postage costs
Barbed hooks- illegal at FFF. Have reported.
You've reported me to people who weren't in charge when this happened 4 years ago, regarding a lake that isn't open for fishing any more or managed by them? And barbed hooks are not illegal at FFF......there are different rules depending on the lake you're fishing. But go right ahead, I'm sure they will be enthralled
Love this lake I got a 90lb cat 2 weeks before this out of catfish corner. Awesome catch pal
Cheers buddy and well done on yours too, there's some absolute monsters in there. My 3rd time fishing it and I'm still waiting on a carp, albeit the previous 2 times were only short difficult sessions. Such a nice lake, will definitely be heading back there again
❤❤❤
Wow !
Well done mate
Cheers mate, shame they didn't wanna know on the second lake but that's how it goes sometimes. At least I managed to find that one spot on the new lake, good starter for the next session 👌
Nice one … where was this beast from ? Or is it secret 😂
Lol no secret, it's one of the vlogs on my channel so free for everyone to see! It was Lapwing lake at Float Fish Farm, near Peterborough.
Hi .. did they provide the pva systems to you or did you take your own. What tackle did you take along ?
Hiya, they do sell them on site but you're better off buying your own from Godman, they want you double bagging so I took the medium wet touch bags, filled them and then slid them into the XL wet touch. If you want to fish the small lake then heavy duty rig making tackle and bubble floats are a good idea, can use them on the big lake too. You'll definitely need a long stick needle for threading the pva bags onto the hooklink. They use pellet similar to cat biscuits so any small neutral coloured buoyant baits (8-10mm) that match them would be good to take. Head torch is essential, if you want to make your own rigs then you'll need 80lb+ braid minimum and very strong hooks, personally I say leave it to the guides unless you are really sure you know what you're doing for each fish type as all the rigs are different. Usual bits like baits stops, lighter, bait floss will all come in handy
@@ChasingCarpDS Thanks so much .. will be my first time so yeah I agree .. will leave it to the guides. Will most likely take my own pva bags & loads of it.
@@johnroman4608 I fished for 4 days and took over 300 bags, once you’re double bagging for 2 or 3 rods and you’re casting out potentially 10+ times each day it soon adds up.
@@johnroman4608listen to the guides they know the place inside out if you can try to get Olly as your guide and don't forget tip them well that's what they live on and they definitely earn it do all they can to catch you the fish of a lifetime good luck
@@mrb9350 great thanks so much
💀
This is my club lake also, hopefully see you down there soon🎣
Say hello if you do mate, have you had much out? Just starting my second season down there so plan to fish the other lakes this season too
@@ChasingCarpDS course will do, the other large lake is very weedy and a lot harder but does hold some lovely fish, The other 2 lakes aren’t really worth it. 1 is a old match lake and the other that you can night fish is extremely weedy, shallow with not many fish in. The one your fishing is great, with a well known 30lb+ in there. She’s my target this year.
@deanhoughton4387 I had one of the "A team" out in September at 29lb 12oz (session 7) and my mate had it out a month back at 33lb so it's definitely up in weight at the moment. Assume that's the one you mean, apparently the biggest in the lake. Lovely fish and puts up a great fight, long, slow and powerful runs. 👌
Whats the whole venue like mate thrre on lake 1 in September
Not fished the other lakes, they certainly look nice and it's a nice setup but we went with the hope of getting a few out on what is generally classed as more of a runs water, the other lakes tend to hold bigger fish but you may only be fishing for a few bites across the week. Like all lakes they have peaks and troughs, I struggled on this week whereas previous visits I had 20 fish in a week. Think it was generally a very slow summer when we went this past time, fingers crossed it fishes well when you're there.
Nice lakes, arsehole in the office
What swim is this?
Right hand bank as you look at it from the shop, think it was the last swim before the corner
What peg was you in
Started off on the far side from the bungalows, think it was S6, last day I moved into E3 I believe, next to F1. Not sure if it is 2 or 3 but basically the swim to the left of F1.
Nice catch mate! what a fish!!! Congrats!
Cheers buddy, knew there were some monsters in there but wasn't expecting one quite that size as my first fish out of there!
@@ChasingCarpDS Im new to carp fishing and I dont know what I would do if I had this cat on my hook 😯 at the moment Im just blanking every each fishing night but one day Ill get there. Your cat is just unbelievable big 💪
Just take your time and hope it gets tired!! 🤣 they're very strong but with the right tackle and some patience you can land them. Everyone goes through dry spells, keep getting out there, try different approaches and if you can watch videos or read articles to improve your approach, presentation etc and they'll soon be biting again. At this time of year give yourself the best chance you can by going to easier waters too, hard enough I'm winter as it is without tackling tricky waters too
What a catch 🙌🏻 love the intro as well 😂
Cheers mate, thought I’d have a bit of fun with this one given that it was Halloween. Hope you enjoyed 👍🏻
nice catch dave😁🐋
Thank you mate, a while coming but definitely worth it for that!
Some beauties there mate 🎣🎣
Cheers buddy, was a great session and the biggun has just been confirmed as one of the named fish, biggest in the lake although slightly down on weight at the moment
u fed up with Willowcroft ?lol
Can't be facing fishing there with 20 other people casting over your line, paid 80 quid for this ticket so I can go as many times as I want for that, saving a few quid lol
nice...good session m8😁👌
Cheers mate, thought I'd hit a 30 with that 1 fish, maybe in a week or 2 🤞🤣
“ Mr BuBbLy EyEs “ 😂😂 Amazing vids Dave 🎉
“ Mr BoBbLy EyEs “ 😂😂 Love your vids btw
Did well there Dave 👍👍👍
Quality session dave, go steady on them wet muddy banks, as i know a broken leg can happen in them conditions! ... wish you every success for your channel 🎣🐟🦵😉🌞
Thanks very much Jez, I’ve had a lot worse! Tripping over a wooden sleeper in the pitch black whilst sprinting for a run and landing on gravel was interesting, smashed toe, 2 hyper extended shoulders and hands and knees cut up………still landed the fish that time though 😂😂. Thanks mate, slowly building it up 👍🏻
What ticket you on mate? I’m from round your way
Not allowed to say mate, although we can post pics/video it's a no social media agreement so can't give details on the location I'm afraid
Beautiful carp, nice one!
Decent Haul lads 👏, I'm down there with a mate next weekend for 48, hope we get your luck!
Cheers mate, tight lines for when you guys get there, weather likely to be the same so on those sunny days I'd definitely recommend at least one rod on a zig, mine was about 12-15 inches below the surface on a trimmed down white mulbz popup, gave a fair amount of interest.
@Tazthemunster nice! I'll give it a go buh 🤞🤞
@Tazthemunster Hello mate, just got back today, wasn't bad, only had 2 each, not too brilliant on quantity, had a 15. 4 out on the Friday Night about 11pm, 3am my mate had a 12.5, then Saturday mate pulled a 28.4 out then i Finally broke my 20lb barrier, which hits me with a new P.B of 24.5 this morning at about 5am, so I'm chuffed as nuts, don't care we only had 4 out now 😂😂 can't wait to get back out there now! Mind you got bitten to fuck, loads of Mozzies 😅
@crayzeewhorse great stuff mate, if you get a few out there's usually a 20 or 2 amongst them, great news on the PB, plenty more in there that'll beat it too so more trips needed 👍. We had a fire going, plus citronella lamps burning and I still had a dozen bites when I got home, breeze normally keeps them away but it was pretty still when we were there so they came out in force. What swims did you get in to??
@Tazthemunster Cheers mate, am well happy with the pb, we're gonna start getting down there a bit more this yr, so hopefully smash that again 🤞 I came away with 18 mozzie bites in the end, found 2 more this morning 🤬 been itchin like an old dog yesterday and today 😂😂 We were on swims 2&3 had both of mine from near the water pump and matey had his 2 from the middle, about 8 wraps out
Nice vid! Looks like it was a good weekend all round! Me n a mate are going there end of the month, used to fish it a fair bit there, but not been for a while, can't wait to get back there now!
Cheers mate, best of luck when you get there, it’s usually pretty consistent and some really decent sized fish in there now. Keep saying I need to get back there but then I just need to get out fishing full stop! Enjoy
@Chasing Carp - Dave Sacker yeah, no worries chap, I'll let ya know how we get on...I wanna start gettin back down there, used to love it, got my pb 18.3 from there about 10 years ago 😅 never know might even see ya down there sometime!
@crayzeewhorse yeah there's plenty in there that'll give you a new PB, vast majority I've had out have been 20s, hoping I can hit some of the bigger ones. Just booked on for 48 hours so may be sooner than you think 🤣
@Chasing Carp - Dave Sacker yeah hopefully I'll pull some bigguns out and smash the PB! Haha nice, I'll keep an eye out for ya, doin the Fri and sat night! Good Luck if it's not the same weekend! ✌️
Hi guys, I think we met when you arrived for the week, I popped in to have a look on my way home from lake 5, glad you managed to get a few after what was a tough summer at bills lake! Tight lines
Hi Gregg, yes I remember you popping in, good meeting you, hope you had a safe, albeit long, journey home. It was a tough week but at least we all managed to get something on the bank. Cheers and tight lines to you for the season ahead 👍
dude are you using buzz bars or a pod? I am going to fish sand next month and was just wondering
I've got both now but was using buzz bars with stage stands, it's all wooden platforms so either stage stands that are screwed in or a pod is essential
Where is the location of the pizza machine and walk in grocery store!! we need that in our lives as we are on lake 2 in May....
It's in Matougues on the main road, there's also a local produce self service shop next to it which does some really nice bits, the fruit drinks are excellent. If you can make sure you have pizza on the Friday as I think that's when the dates are getting short and you get loads of freebies. Avoid the 4 cheese unless you like really sickly brie type cheese over the whole thing. The meat feast is the best so go with that and you're one winner. We've fished lake 2 3 times now, this time was the hardest fishing but that's probably the result of a long dry summer and us fishing at the end of it. Good luck for May, left hand swim is the one to get in if you can
I have fished Kestrel a few times as I am only 5 minutes away, always blanked. Starting to think there isn't any fish in there!
Had plenty out of there before they combined all the lakes together but this is my first time fishing it since then, believe they had some fish kill there in late summer so possible some of the stock has gone. Problem is this time of year they could be other end of the lake and you’d never see them. Ideally have a search around the lake for them but pegs 1-8 were under a couple of inches of water so we were pretty much stuck where we were.
They had quite a lot die In kestrel last summer unfortunately. We was over on lapwing at the time. There’s still plenty left though
@@alandraycott yeah a couple of my mates fished it and said they saw quite a few dead carp. Suppose 40⁰ temperatures and lots of still days will do that. Unless there was a disease of some type too
id of gone Willowcroft loil
good to see you back 😀
Cheers buddy, been a little while, weather and work saw to that! Had actually planned to go to willowcroft the next weekend but I've had a 5 year project delivering in the last couple of weeks and simply couldn't find the time. Definitely be there in the next week or two though. Need a bloody bend in the rod again!
@@ChasingCarpDS 😁yea ul defo get a bend in the rod at wWillowcroft lol....be on six islands soon as it warms up abit
Going end of the month is there any pegs what result in more fish then others
They all produce but personally I like to go up the far end on the main bowl, it's deeper water there and at this time of year they will tend to head that way. It's furthest away from the car park so more trekking of your gear but that also gas the benefit of putting off a lot of people so you tend to get more of the lake to yourself. I've done a few videos at Cafe including winter sessions, my best results have always come in those furthest swims. Tight lines when you get there 👍 🎣
Thanks for replying mate
Also can you use braided hook lengths there mate
@Scott Hehsnsn yes hook lengths are fine, no braided mainline except for spod and marker rods. It's also barbless, some bloody big cats in there so make sure your gear/line can deal with them too, took me an hour to land one on 12lb line previously, fortunately there was only me and my mate on the lake so we could let it do what it wanted until it tired enough to get it landed
I think lakes should open a lot earlier all year round 8AMs a joke.
Yeah I was quite surprised to find that's when they open, problem there is it's so popular they could open at 4am and there would still be a queue at the gates, guess it's because they have to man the shop to receive anglers in and they don't want to be doing that too early
@@ChasingCarpDS What they need would be either an automatic gate or someone prepared to come and just open up.I don't know the venue so why would they need to man the shop so early can't anglers just come in and open the shop whenever?
@Amy Winehouse. There's 6 lakes spread over quite a large area, if everyone just came in as and when they'd have no way of tracking who's come on site. Guess that's their biggest concern, I'm sure they could manage it somehow but guess it's been managed this way for a number of years and they don't want to change it. I've fished lakes that allow access at 6am and others where 24 hours starts at 4pm, just down to the individual lakes and how the owners want to manage them.
Absolutely loved the handful of times I have been there, twice on kingfisher, twice on swan and once on bluebell lake. First sesh I did 28 hours on bluebell lake, had plenty of bream, then a corner swim came free on kingfisher lake with wind hacking into it so I upped and moved in to there for my last 20 hours, landed a 25lb 12oz common the next morning on a single bait, 2 hours before time was up ! Next trip it was extremely hot, heatwave etc, kingy was very busy all weekend, I took a pb common 24 hours in, a 33lb 1 oz a common on the surface on dog biscuits, whilst the whole lake sat behind motionless rods all weekend, i was buzzing to say the least. Next trip kingfisher lake was ridiculously busy, a bank holiday weekend etc, so I went over swan lake, got my self over invested in thinking I could target carp and catfish, but really should of just stayed focused on carp, drew a blank in the end, it happens. Next trip, straight on swan lake, as I was setting up I watched Steve broad land the Z fish next door to me, as NY Nate sat behind patiently waiting to move in after he vacated ( he was all packed down apart from his rods ! ) that went 46-48lb + I think, anyway got set up and fishing, nothing first day/night, but mid morning next day I latched onto a new on common by 3oz's, with a 33lb 4oz common, and the next morning a lovely new on mirror at 31lb, my mate in next door landed a football shaped common at 32lb + and a beautiful 26lb + mirror ( both my fish and his falling to my pop-ups ) with single bait tactics.
Sounds brilliant mate, there's so many peoples PBs swimming around in those lakes it's no wonder they're always so busy and why people return time and time again. I'm really hoping I can get into some of the big commons on the complex but would just be happy getting any carp out of there, such stunning lakes and so many variations between them they've got so many different things to offer. Not going to lie, would like them to be a lot quieter but then that all adds to the specialness of catching whilst others around you may be struggling. Either way can't wait to get back there for a proper session, a short day session was nice but want much more time there
fished bluebell 2 years ago in July and I watched a lad fishing that swim smash them out under that willow whilst I had blanked for 2 nights opposite 😂
Did look like an obvious spot for them to hold up in which was why I liked the look of the swim. Didnt really see much activity in the few hours I was there, 1 crashed out along the tree line to the right of me about half way through the day but that was about it. Certainly be heading back and doing some nights, just depends when I get some time in the next few weeks.
@@ChasingCarpDS yeah mate it’s definitely not as easy as what the stock makes out, I’ve been there twice never been in winter tho but if you can get in that peg In summer seems to consistently do bites. It’s getting in there that’s the problem, gets absolutely packed.
@C Tom yeah I certainly won't be fishing the complex at weekends from about April onwards, not unless I can get there Thursday or Friday and fish into the weekend. Fortunately it's local to me so I can do midweek quite easily, providing there's space ofcourse. Got a few other venues to get to over the winter too so will mix it up a bit
Super....
Thankyou mate 👍
I know I have watched it before ,,, this lake did you have to book or just turn up for a day ticket
Just turn up mate, does get very busy at weekends during the warmer months but continues to fish well in the colder months and is a lot quieter then.
What bait where you using at float fish
Hiya, I was using Sticky Baits Krill bottom baits with a pink popup fished as a snowman setup. Boilie chops and crumb in a pva stick hooked onto the rig
Nice love that place 👌 lovely commons 😁🎣👍🏻
Definitely need to get back there, will be Winters lake next time though
Hi bud…. Just watching now…. Where and what’s the price for 48 hours
Oh also what light to you use when you videoed the first fish, is it just ur phone ?
It's between Sandy and Biggleswade on the A1 in Bedfordshire, it's 30 quid for 24 hours for any of the lakes I think, personally I'm planning to fish Winters lake next time, looks a much nicer lake and you're less likely to be bothered by others on the lake as it's much more limited numbers
@@craigknights4480 I've got a few lights I use for night shots but the first fish was using an NGT bivvy light and my ridge monkey headtorch on the brighter option wide angle beam. Gives a good spread of light without over exposure
Nice series Dave 😁🎣👍🏻
Cheers mate, hope you're good 👍
@@ChasingCarpDS very good mate same to you 😁🎣👍🏻
Where part 2 😉, is it fair to say the left of the lake produces more bites ?
I’m working on it Chris!! 😂 There’s a lot of footage to download, edit and put together so takes a good few days for me to pull a vlog together. We all wanted the left hand swim as it’s always been the best swim from what we’ve read and experienced previously. When I went back in 2012 I had 14 fish from the back left corner in the first 24 hours alone so when we did the swim draw we were all planning on that corner if we came out first. You’ll see why in the next 2 vlogs!
I'm guessing they're not likely to be ready by the time I get there Friday 😁, there's a debate over that swim of course. But fish did come out from the other side of the lake ? I certainly saw one
@@chriswhite1644 next one has just finished saving, will be looking to upload tomorrow. Fish will come out from all swims but every time we’ve been it is the far left swim that seems to get the most action, and the biggest fish in our experience so if you can get in there then I’d definitely say it’s the first option to go for. I did see plenty of carp down the right side margin too but they just didn’t seem to be feeding there, certainly not on my baits anyway!
@@ChasingCarpDS I will be over to the left sharing it with my brother in law as we both know it's the spot. Conditions are abit different to your trip now so things mate change abit. Look forward to watching the next one today then 👍

Hi have been fishing at FFf on home Lake can you give some for catching
Most swims there will usually catch but I have a few favourites, I tend to fish with a pva bag with boilie chops, crumb and pellet in and then a snowman setup on the rig. Decent quality bottom bait and then mix up the topper colour until you find what's working well. I tend to do well with pink toppers on but mix it up and see how you go
