Yes! Evangelism and Formational Discipleship are the foundational "ordinary" works of the church, not to be delegated to para-church ministries or special "seasons" of evangelism or discipleship. The Romans crucified thousands of their opponents in the day.when they ruled the area. Extremely cruel and barbaric form of death by torture. It was lovely to be with the Bishop and Canon Bill yesterday in the "Beyond the Burgh" group. I love the emphases he has been placing on the basics of faith and life in Christ. I especially like his emphasis on the relational side of ministry, the 1-1 and very small group discipleship focus, rather than an emphasis on programs. He wisely says this is not a 'fast-growth' model, but rather a deep-growth model. Bishop Alec, may your holiday be restful, encouraging, peaceful, life-giving, relationally rich, and spiritually deep. Thanks for the way you lead us!

The Church at large should consider carefully that God does not cause division but creates diversity. If the gay issue is so distressing to many and they think it offends scripture then some Anglican representatives should also look at polygamy which is opposed to Gospel teaching and conveniently dismissed by many who will be in Kigali.

It was lovely to be with the Bishop and Canon Bill yesterday in the "Beyond the Burgh" group. I love the emphases he has been placing on the basics of faith and life in Christ. I especially like his emphasis on the relational side of ministry, the 1-1 and very small group discipleship focus, rather than an emphasis on programs. He wisely says this is not a 'fast-growth' model, but rather a deep-growth model. The Church at large should consider carefully that God does not cause division but creates diversity. If the gay issue is so distressing to many and they think it offends scripture then some Anglican representatives should also look at polygamy which is opposed to Gospel teaching and conveniently dismissed by many who will be in Kigali.
The difference is it was NEVER acceptable in the Bible
