Rad BMX Builds

My name is Sean and I am the owner of Rad BMX Builds. I retired after more than 27 years in the military and I have always loved BMX. Growing up in the 80’s it was such a huge part of my life, now it’s my passion. I build, collect and sometimes even sell bikes. I’m constantly “Building Memories “ so make sure you SUBSCRIBE for some RAD content.

Looked better the way it was. look at 1:52 time stamp (before) and then look at it with the power series cranks on it.

My understanding is the blue thing on the brake is a heat sink, kinda like on an air cooled motorcycle cylinder head. Also, thanks for mentioning WEBCO, had a team replica as a kid, my brother had a curb jumper.

Just been watching the X Games and realized, there's only skateboard merch being presented around the commentators. Please, see who you can influence into getting BMX merch and memorabilia presented on screen with them next time. Example, Dave Mirra's gold plated BMX, the Rad Cartoons and give-aways, etc.... Let's do this.

I grew up in Ontario/Upland and as a little grommet at 14 I got to hit pipeline 2x.. At that infant stage in my days it was WAY intimidating. About the same time sadly, it got tore down. After that many of us in the area transitioned to either hitting back yard pools or several 1/2 pipes in the area. It was an AMAZING area to grow up in BMX. I had Blyther as my hero and rode w/him several x's. Dominguez, Voelker, Wilkerson and others came around. We had Baldy pipe, Chaffey High school.. SO SO much to do in the day.. Then I got old.. lol. BEST DAMN MEMORIES OF MY LIFE

The OPC ain’t a bad thing with the right BB. Anyone who disses you for building OPC setups can kick rocks, sugino one piece cranks got me through the late 80’s and early 90’s…heavy but thick, and top notch chromoly. Appropriate for the day (and my lighter body) This one is deadly, turned out well!! And that old one piece is STILL gorgeous. How did you polish it?

I had a brand new Mongoose Decade around 88 and a new GT Performer in 94. Neither came with 3 piece cranks. I never had 3 piece until i got into cycling in 2016 with a couple new bikes I bought for road and off road..I never had or seen the real issue with single piece cranks. Fewer parts and things to go wrong. BUT thats just my dumb take on it. Love the GT. Looks so classic..
