    Meanwhile I have become tired of using vintage manual lenses, now I prefer modern automatic lenses, although I keep many vintage Arriflex cine lenses from Cooke, Angenieux, Zeiss, Schneider, Kinoptik and so on.

    Can you please tell me what the diameter of this is? At its widest point? They dont even tell you on the manufacturers website.

  • @danielp_adams
    @danielp_adams3 ай бұрын

    You mean the rear threads? They are 52mm. Front threads are 67mm. The widest lens you can use in FF open gate is probably a 43mm depending on the lens. Hope that helps.

  • @gothamindembaum

    You have vignetting because you're using a 35mm FF lens which is below the minimum supported 45mm, I presume.

    Thanks for this! I think you're the only reviewer that showed you can use the adapter with a rail system as opposed to just screwing it onto the lens. Noob question, how close should the adapter be to the taking lens when using rails? Should it almost touch the front element? With the rail setup, I'm temped to try it on the BMPCC 4k with manual (7 Artisans) lenses.

  • @danielp_adams

    Kodak still makes 16mm film. If you really want to have a 16mm film look, you don't go through pains and expense of buying a single telephoto lens, you buy/rent a Bolex camera and a bunch of Kodak Vision film stock instead. Kudos for trying, but it is not a visible grainy 16mm look, nor is it the experience. Lewis Potts as in his namesake channel, shows how to achieve a real 16mm look with the real 16mm film camera.

  • @danielp_adams

    Also. This makes me wanna get some servicing done to my Tamron 18-270 lens... Only problem is that, as it was built to be a budget stills lens, it makes hard clicked aperture changes during zooms, messing with exposure while adjusting the zoom. I wonder if it might be possible to rehouse its glass in a more manual set of tubes and gears to get it working better for 1970s zooms. Probably cheaper to find a better 10x zoom for my APS-C Sensor BMPCC6KG2 camera.

  • @danielp_adams
    @danielp_adams5 ай бұрын

    Hey thanks for watching! Yeah for sure it would be easier to find an old parfocal zoom to adapt. The glass will be much better quality.

    great montage amigo! shots, music, colors, transitions - beautiful! I have few Qs: how did you do the transitions like on 4:51 ? 5:01 ? also regarding undercranked effect on 5:40, did you make it in post or did u shoot lower framerate, slow shutter? and regarding zooms : did you use motorized zooms? THANKS! subscribed

  • @danielp_adams
    @danielp_adams5 ай бұрын

    Thanks man! The film burn transitions are overlays and the under crank was done in camera by shooting at 6 fps and 360 degree shutter. All zooms were motorized using the Tilta Nucleus Nano II. Hope that helps! Cheers!

    Hey thanks for watching! The taking lens is the base lens on which the adapter is attached to. For this kind of setup you use a spherical lens and attach the anamorphic adapter. The spherical lens you choose is the taking lens. Hope that helps 🙏🏼
