Practical Worship shares ideas, tips and practical advice for the worship leader that has to do it all. We get started in worship ministry because we can sing. We enjoy music, and we love being a part of what God does through worship. But we soon realize there’s a bunch of extra things that come along with it. You’re expected to be a jack of all trades and the person that has to do it all. Practical Worship was created to be a source of resources to help make you a well-rounded worship ministry leader.

Great word! Something I needed to hear. I will be taking a month long break from worship leading to train and work with my sound team.
It reminds me more of a night club than a church.
Hello, excellent videos where I can register my songs to receive royalties from CCLI ?
Thanks for the review. I need to find out the wiring on the cable between the TRS jack and the XLR plug on the Elite Core EC-WBP, ie Tip to Pin?, Ring to Pin?, Sleeve to Pin ? Thanks!
What is the song they start playing at 4:45?
Just lower the volume. Problem solved.
I wanted to join the worship team. My summer camp has a workshop that you can be on the worship team once. I joined and they asked me to actually be on the worship team for this camp. That is because I come every year and I know the owner of this camp.
Thanks good info
I'm just finding this. Such great nostalgia! I'd love to show a clip of this at my ProPresenter trainings. Can I get your permission to do so (and a download link that's not on KZread)?
Of course! Can you email me or DM on social media, and I can send you the original file.
What I have found also works, is not sending the audio from recordings, straight to the stream on the mixer but rather let it be picked up by the crowd microphones, the added white noise does help mostly.
My job title is Worship & Music Director. I press that distinction.; music and worship are not synonymous. I call the band the Praise Band, and the ministry the Music Ministry. If we’re having a meeting, I say it’s a Music Ministry Team meeting, and that includes A/V.
What a cool video. have you consider switching to the Kemper or Axe Fx at all ? would that cut the necessities for all the cool pedals and also not having to worry about a tube blowing up ? thanks so much. cheers.
Thanks Dave. I love your tutorials and your authenticity. I am not able to lead vocally, but I love leading with my heart.
If Stewart Copeland saw this video way back he would be a entirely different drummer, im so glad he didn't.
This is the best ever.
Very Helpful and simple
Gaslighters dont care and make it the problem of those who complain. Sickening. Turn down the main, simple.Gaslighters dont care and make it the problem of those who complain. Sickening. Turn down the main, simple.
Silly man, churches don't have stages.
Is this like a fellowship hall or parish hall -- where's the church?
So... In other words the CCLI license is kinda useless to prevent KZread from taking down my live streaming service...
This is absolutely beautiful ❤
I completely disagree w this video Imho it’s way more important to try to find the most congregational friendly key, it’s not about the worship leader it’s about everyone being able to sing to the lord in a comfortable key
Nice to see you again
Good to be back!
Tons of drummers advise using a click but what does that mean? All i hear is click click click at different tempos but im i supposed to hit a note at every click?
A click typically is just counting the quarter notes of the measure, like if someone was counting “1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4” and you play your part to that.
You're an awesome leader Dave!!!!
I appreciate what you’re doing for worship leaders everywhere
☝️✌️👉
OG!
Great wisdom. That works for all of us. As Tech Director I feel the same. I don’t have to be running sound. My ministry is in the team and loving and leading them.
Absolutely!
do you prepare this by yourself as the music director, or do the band members have to write the charts by themselves?
I provide this for the band. The more I can resource the band and set them up to win, the better…
thank you SO much! this is super helpful for me, a classically trained pianist! playing for church has always been learning by myself from here and there
This is awesome for the drummer do you have a template
If you find my email address and email me, I can send you a Word doc
Why do people on PA try and pump out as much volume as possible?! If you can't hear other people worshipping, then what's the point? You may as well go home and put on CD at a level that is comfortable. I have hearing damage and can't bear it, too often is it causes tinnitus to become much worse. I have to just sit it out in the reception area.
I needed this.... This video really put somethings into perspective for me..
Thanks Dave! This is helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
SPOT ON!!!
You really can't afford to turn down the vocals in your IEM's when you also sing harmony as a drummer.
That’s definitely true!
Great to see you back on KZread. Hope you are doing well. I actually miss the hand gesture in the end, for tips, tricks and practial advice. Greetings from the Netherlands
👆🏼✌🏼👈🏼
... the real question is: where's the blue button down shirt? Good to see you back Dave! 👊
Babe wake up. Practical Worship uploaded a new video.
Great to see you and hear your voice, I have enjoyed your videos the past several years
I think we make the worship team and music way too complicated, just plug in and play
Make a joyful noise!
Welcome back, Dave :D
I'm running Windows 10 on PC with Ableton Live Intro ... does Intro allow video import, export and playback of .mov files? I cannot seem to do this? How did you get "videos" in the name column?
Fantastic simply put fantastic I’m a 65-year-old drummer UUU finding the pocket for the first time It’s it’s coming, but I feel like a total beginner but I love it new passion, the whole thing Keep up the good work bro
We have the opposite problem. Our band is so quiet on the stream but the sermon is loud. 🤔
So if I am using a music track by Chris Tomlin in a lyric video during a worship service, and I am not streaming it, am I covered if I have a CCLI license?
This is a tutorial about having songs handy and clipping fingernails....good advice but I was hoping for "how to USE an overhead projector". Oh well.
Thank you for your video. I’m in search for a starter pack for my church too. It’s been 6 years now and I’m wondering if you can recommend and upgraded version of the pack in this video? Your assistance would be truly appreciated 🙏🏽
Honestly, the rechargeables from the Amazon brand are pretty legit. We’ve been using them for the past five years at the church I’m at now.
@@practicalworshipThat’s helpful, thank you very much for responding too. 🙏🏽
Silly question. From Europe here. Not really sure what you Americans mean about “worship” everywhere on KZread when we are talking about Audio. Will this work for just normal rock? Bassist here. Thanks.
Not a silly question at all. “Worship” in this context just means a band that plays at church for their Sunday services. These would absolutely work for your typical rock band. You might look into other models from KZ. This video is several years old, and KZ has come out with other models since then. For the price, they are fantastic. Just make sure the tips you choose make a good seal in your ears. Especially as a bass player, that’s where your bass is gonna come from.
Our church would like to purchase several light panels. Where can I purchase them?
