Even 45 years ago Yosemite Valley was much more open in bigger meadows. I winter mountaineered the Sierra Nevada mountains January to May 1980. Last time I went there in 2002 the forests had spread into the park even more.

I don’t see it as no brainer. Given we are reducing evaporation of water, doesn’t it mean we are reducing the water content in clouds which carry water and rain somewhere else? Like isn’t this impacting some other places? Or this is very small? Any research links would be highly appreciated. Thanks
