He had r as Ed a lot at Mansfield Ohio, Muskingham, buckeye, and a few others. I believe he held a record for most end over end flips some the back stretch at one of them. Thanks for consideration and possible efforts to help reclaim some family glory to pass down

Please who ever post these great classics. My dad and grandpa raced Ohio late models for years. And local favorites and greats like the Boggs conleys or other small teams that banged out races, his name was Gary Ute, orange 04 with thumper on it I believe. Please if you find a classic video and can post it, as Gary Ute highlights or something simple. I’m not great with computers, and I’ve searched for years for newspaper prints or videos and there isn’t any I’ve found

What years did he race, and what tracks did he go to? I have other races I've not posted.

R.I.P. Freddy. Hope to see a tribute at The DTWC. Bittersweet that he passed right before the event he's most associated with. Sad that he's gone but nostalgic at the same time. I understand his legacy above all else is that he's The Southern Gentleman being known for being a great human over being a great racer, but I hope he's always recognized as a true all time great. Top 5 DLM racer of all time.

The only driver to win The World 100 and The Snowball Derby. The biggest late model race on dirt and the biggest late model race on pavement. One of the greatest accomplishments in motorsports history. It's a damn shame he went NASCAR racing. Wasted his peak years as a driver running around in the back driving for a new team that lacked the funding. Unfortunately that's what most will always remember him for.

As a man who worked too many hours back then and had no idea great racing series was on speed i am grateful as can be for you tube and posts like this. If i HAD been watching, as a Wisconsinite i would have been rooting for Schlepper and Mars, sounds like a McCartney song i know. This is the first i have seen? where the microphone in Schleppers face alot, good and bad. Tough guy to get a read on personality wise. Talk to me race fans, what was he like? He sure blew alot of races

I was crew chief for small team early 90's and saw Jeff Purvis wear the field out in Phoenix City. His hauler was the first we saw to change an engine in the infield. Funny to hear him say overboard.
