Mil Nicholson is the best audiobook characterisation in the business. Her diction, her ability to change from one character to the next, whether male or female, hero or villains. Dickens would be proud of this lady, bringing a reality to his novels.

Frederick Douglass speaks a truth that was (is?) truly life threatening; especially in his day and time. #SpeakTruth, even when it’s not popular, safe or prudent.

It's fascinating to come around to this after playing Signalis. Especially with the similar themes of tragic love, mysterious unearthly forces, and the six times that Jack had to carry all the marbled works down into the furnace in order to destroy all the evidence. Especially the ending in particular.

Has anyone else read Dickens' "Bleak House", "Oliver Twist", or "David Copperfield"? I had to read them for my 10th grade homeschool ELA course, but I enjoyed them.

Wait a second, that’s actually a BOSS play by the cheated on former husband. Forcing her to keep a second secret. Whatever that didn’t bind her to him the first time, will be exactly what binds her to her paramour this time, even if means ex husband will force it by a secret. I’m actually surprised that I enjoyed that thought.😂 Even worse, he acknowledged it was his folly.😂

I've seen that ppl on here have been confused about the word "bolted" I THINK I may know what it means. Because it is in the context of food, it could mean that he ate too fast. Joe was talking about Pip's health, and eating too fast can cause stomach aches and choking. Hope this helps lol

i have to listen to this for a school task. and i must say, this might be the most violently boring audiobook i have had to listen. And this is not to trash the text, or the people liking it. but for me now, in the summer examrush, this is just painful.
