  This is effectively a prototype to test if it works. The size and design i made will not fit in the standard Famicom cartridge. I soldered a socket for the 74LS161 because it's for testing. I'm not very good at soldering and I have overheated and destroyed chips in the past. The socket eliminates that.

  You have to be patient. Depending on where you are from, it may be hard to find one of these. I myself have never seen another one of these even on online markets. Japan auction sites might be your best bet, but I have no personal experience in buying from Japan.

  6:31 What do you mean to lubricate o rings? Isn't the O ring inside the tube? You're putting that oil on the outside of tube.

  Hi. There is an o-ring inside the tube. There is also an o-ring inside the crown. Lubricating the tube in turn lubricates the o-ring inside the crown. I'm using silicone grease not oil. Silicone grease on the threads of the tube also helps to prevent moisture from entering through the threads of the stem tube.

  Bezels become loose over time especially since it's a moving part. Rotating it every now and then is fine, but playing with it like a fidget toy will wear it out faster.

  Зачем делать чтобы оно выглядело как DVD драйв? Хаха Наоборот, не нужно его внутри привинчивать, а в кадди сделать две дырки и продеть туда веревочку петлёй, тогда его можно вытаскивать без снятия клавиатуры.

  It looks like a cheap clone version that you found in fleamarket in estern europe 30 years ago. The USA/europe version looks much more professional.

  The USA/Europe version is called the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES. A grey box that looks more like a VCR than a game console, but that came after the one in this video which is the original console released in Japan and most of Asia. It's not a cheap clone. It's the original that came before the USA/Europe versions. Check out part 2 of this series. There I show the difference between a clone and an original Famicom system board.   Yes NES is the name. But the Famicom still looks cheap to me if you put it side by side to a NES. I mean look at that combination of white and red color. The controllers are red with gold color. Then the controllers does not have any DIN9 socket. Then inside, there is no metal plate to shield the board from external electrical interferences. Only the antena module is shilded…. Sorry but is ugly as hell and looks cheap to me. Of corse this is my personal oppinion. You are free to disagree.

  @@claudiurus7307 I don't disagree with you. I own an NES myself and I think it's awesome...and that's me speaking beyond the looks department. Aside from the region lock, and the problematic cartridge slot, I love the NES.

  That's a great job! I have a ny0004 too and 8204 movement is getting a little crazy. I'm thinking of changing it to 8205 movement, do you know if 8203-8205 is the same size?

  Yes the 8203, 8204, and 8205 are the same size. The 8204 has hacking. The 8205, as far as i know, has white background and black text for the day and date. Incidentally, the replacement movement you see me use in this video might be the 8205 Gilt version (gold plated version). As it is the only 8200 series movement i know if that is gold tone.

  there is a difference in voltage as the lithium battery and module supply 3.7-4.2 v and the regular 2 x AA batteries supply 3 v. does that extra voltage affect the system?? another question what is the use of adding a diode to the module? thanks for the informative video

  Hello. Yes. There is a difference in voltage. The diode drops the output voltage to around 3.2 if i remember correctly. That's the main purpose of the diode. Hope this helps.

  I am going to upgrade my wife's soon just waiting on the parts. Hers is getting a 2670qm and 16gb of ram. Was thinking about getting a 3rd gen i7 because it's the same socket but all the ones in my price range were only dual core.

  Okay, so I can confirm the 2670qm works without needing to install anything other than the HD3000 driver that took a bit of a backward way to do since the installer tries to say it's not supported. Then I added 16gb of ddr3 1600mhz because it was cheaper than the slower ram. And finally upgraded the HDD to a adata ssd. Windows 10 works flawlessly on it as well as Adobe CC 2023 although openGL is not supported and the vram is not more than 1.5gb

  Hello, i already bought my Willem Programmer in order to program EPROMS, but now i am looking for an old computer with paralell port, do you know if the PCB software works in an old Operative system like windows XP?

  Hi. Yes the software for Willem Programmer should work in XP. If i remember correctly, WINXP supports the drivers better than win7. I had to install additional software to make it work on my win7 machine. You need to set your parallel port to ECP mode in the BIOS. Also check the I/O port address. Mine is set to 378h.
