Learn about microscopes and more on the Micro Safari KZread channel!
We believe exploring the small and unseen helps solve the world's biggest problems.
Micro Safari began as a museum exhibit to help teach about soils, microorganisms, and science.
Our latest product, Micro Safari Aqua, is a new kind of microscope slide that keeps aquatic organisms alive for several months, compared to a traditional microscope slide where the organisms die in a couple hours.

Thanks so much for this!
They seem dead 😵
Have you tried the carson microflip?
Do I see a Bresser Biolux microscope? (On the far left in the beginning of the video) How does that compare to the Swift SW200DL?
Of course it is. Once the much welcomed end of the world will happen the aliens will womder why did we LOATHE the planet so much if we FILLED every single mm of earth with plastic.
Last and second last are real kind microscope other are more zooming macro lens.
Thanks for creating this content, nice presentation and very informative, I’m in the market for something that can help me study ‘skin scrapes’ I have sensitive skin and sometimes feel as though there are mites feeding on me…one of these would help me identify what is causing the irritation..!😇
You lost me at "headed to a party" 😅
If i had to buy a microscope for sure this is your site i will come back , very instructive and well built to the details , nice job.
I didn't think you could get a decent stereomicroscope for $90. Can you install a barlow lens on it to increase the focal distance?
Hi thank you for understanding so I need to know which best micro to gemeston
your not reputable if you dont include Dinolite
I want to see Quarks, Leptons and Zeptoseconds... What microscope do I need? 😂
Something from China would work great. There's probably an ebay seller with just what you are looking for!
I was just seeing the 2022 version and was hoping you would release a new one then I looked to the side and saw you just posted a 2024 version That was less than one week old by the way, the videos were amazing. Keep it up.❤
I want to start analyzing the waters I've been drinking as most are filled with plastic, and It's been found that calcium carbonate encapsulates up to 80% of the 3 most common plastics found in water after boiling, making it easy to filter out. I wanna buy a microscope to experiment with different water sources and different filtration methods at home, and just have some peace of mind that I'm not drinking poison.
was that a 12mp camera ? 125x * ~12 ?
I use AOPICK's coin microscope to look at a collection of coins, and the removable holder market is taken by my kids to look at leaves.
Lol... I have never heard this question asked in my lifetime. Telescopes... yes Rifle scopes... yes Spotting scopes...yes Bore scopes. Yes Any other scopes but this one
Very good, I love scopes with a view screen, so much better then peeping though optics exactly as needed.
I’d like to buy this model. I’m wondering whether anyone has any experience with the optics of this model. One thing I need it for is to examine phono cartridge styli. The other is to measure parts I machine. So I need the high mag for that. It’s at a good price right now.AmScope ZM-4 Series Advanced Trinocular Stereo Microscope 2X-225X Magnification on Double Arm Boom Stand with Fiber Optic Ring Light and 18MP USB 3.0 Camera Model No: ZM-4TW3-FOR-18M3
Can you do a cameras review compared with some found online like on Amazon, etc? I would love to have one to use and see good movement like for stuff small like sperm
"stuff small like sperm" You'll need about 100x (or more) magnification for that.
Got the (one of the) Mega Chonkster(s) in 2022 from the basement as a start (I DO NOT RECOMEND for starters) and giving a try for the MicroBrite today - portability and giving it to your kids is a thing!
I don't have a microscope. I don't have plans for buying a microscope. I don't have even the remotest theoretical need for owning a microscope. I'm learning about microscopes today.
They satisfy curiosity if nothing else. I see specks in drinking water, put a drop under the microscope and inspect it. Of course then there's the problem of interpreting the result of what you see, but at least you can usually tell if it is a mineral or if it is moving.
Prefer to see this video as a blog-style webpage where you can compare images from the microscopes side by side? I made that here: microsafari.org/pages/what-microscope-to-buy-in-2024
23rd sec and end of watching, disappointing as f...
What is the most portable microscope which must be economical that can see bacteria, is highly portable and can be used in the field, for third world use by medical professionals?
Shame on you! As an amateur jewelry maker, flush cutters are only for delicate wire & pins!😂 Also, I've never seen added water to a worm box. Wet newspaper is the best way. Good to know about the melon tho. That'd be another great source of water. Still, you have to show a good method for draining the (highly prized) liquid gold out of the bottom & how to harvest the castings.
I purchased an Amscope M150C, alongside a Carson micro flip, and It's been pretty a pretty good choice for me. It was under $100 and it checks all the boxes for a part time hobby.
Currently you can find this model often on e-Bay with $5000. I agree, it was maybe 100 000, but now it's definitely worth only $5000-$7000 with brightfield optics installed. And Honestly, an Olympus CX43 brand-new for $5000 I believe it's a better choice considering the optical features and image quality. If this thing breaks, you will have a hard time fixing it or finding cheap parts.
that USB microscope is more convinience and space saver to my shop. and it works fine for 5years
Zoom and magnificent are 2 different things! The digital microscope are just like cameras. It is not saying that the object is being magnified 1600x, it is talking about zoom range. If you had a camera that had a lens that went from 1mm to 100mm that is a 100x zoom. But if you had a 500mm prime lens it would be a 1x zoom even though everything is way larger on the sensor. So if you zoomed all the way out, see how many mm is shown on the sensor then all the way in and divided by how many mm shown on the sensor it would be the zoom range.
the red/white/black colourful ones are advertised on ebay as electron microscopes
nice
could you please make a step by step tutorial on how to obtain the samples
The axio m1 microscopes aren't 100k$ at least right now, no they sell now for 10 thousand new from the manufacturer.
Can I order micro scope
Super helpful and informative! I have been looking into purchasing a stereo microscope for a while for plant, fungi, and lichen identifications and this answered a lot of my questions about different features that are out there.
Does the kit include an onlyfans subscription or is it the old school porn magazine?
TTT
Hi, i have a really thick phone with power bank built in, is there a microscope that will fit thick phones? tia
This video doesn't give an answer to the question posed in the title. Therefore a dislike.
What the fuck is this, buy a lot of Chinese crap macro lenses, but just starts sales pitch this is the best because we sell this, this has NOTHING to do with a review, just a commercial. And wtf bring this to a party you will be the center of the party!! NOPE you are more likely to sit on your own.....
I just works. Don't expect any information in this video.
Im still waiting for minecraft or Skyrim
used zeiss for the same price are much better....condensor an lightfield-diapharagma can be centered, mor filters can be applied and so on
Best for microscopy Full-Frame Mirrorless Digital Camera and the software inside
I actually get worse image quality on my mirrorless cameras, mostly because the sensor is not designed for low light environments, which leads to noise in the image. There are some other technical considerations which make regular mirrorless/DSLR camera sensors non-ideal for microscopy too. That being said, if you can absolutely blast your sample with an IMMENSE amount of light, mirrorless cameras will give you the best image. But I am talking amounts of light that the majority of microscopes cannot provide stock.
@@micro_safari that depends on the software of your camera. Normaly mirrorless DLSR cameras have the best sofware for noise reduction, sensivityadaption and so on. But sometimes i use a 4K webcam without the optics, they do a good job for hobbiists
Can you suggest me a better microscope to give a gift to my daughter....
Sure thing. I agree, a sperm kit is probably not the ideal gift for your daughter! I don't know what your budget or age of your daughter is but I'll throw out the Carson Microbrite has been a favorite of ours recently. Check out my general microscope recommendation videos or you can wait for a couple of weeks when we release our 2024 recommendations
Nooooo lmao I was hoping you’d actually review the red one in the thumbnail. I’m looking for a cheap ~400x microscope to use as an adult, and was wondering if the tiny red one works (even though you said it is fickle)?
Check out the 'Do Cheap Microscopes Actually Work' video. I talk about it there. Basically it is almost useless and you'd be better off getting a digital or smartphone microscope
4:41 ""pretty easy to tell what sperm is and what's not sperm.." in the foreground we see a sperm.. but in the backgroud we see round cells moving.. are those also sperm out of focus?
Good question! No, those are likely just particles that are moving due to brownian motion (not necessarily alive). Sperm cells should all be roughly the same size and, unless they are greatly malformed, will have a flagella (the tail).
what can I get for about 1000 magnification with a decent field of view?
Actually, really useful video 👍
