is there a way to save in rgb format
Thanks for all the great tips such as tearing the edges of the design to reduce the unwanted press lines.
Great video!
Thank you for watching! :)
Thank you for this setting i have added it to my cricut I use laminated card stock and then sublimate my designs onto my boxes
That's a great idea! Thanks for watching. :)
Do you let photoshop pick colors ? if yes, what ICC profile do you use?
Thank you for posting this. Got a new heat press and I have a few magnets to make.
Thanks for watching and hopefully you were able to make a few magnets! :)
@@FlipandFlutterCreations I have made several and, thanks to your tutorial, Ethel turned out great.
New subscriber! Great idea! I’m gonna try it! Thanks. Ribbon takes up so much space. ❤😊👍
Thank you for subscribing! I am glad you enjoyed the video. It really does take up so much space! :)
Are the thermal laminating sheets very similar to clear HTV?
I don't believe so. I have never used clear HTV though.
Hello i love your video i do have a question can you use any type of decorative papers instead of using photo paper thank you
I use sublimation paper. I know some people have used just plain paper to sublimate on as well, but I like using sublimation paper.
Using the 1.5m rather than 3m will allow the canvas texture to show better
Thanks! I will have to try that!
Is there a number for the frames? I can’t find them to order
The company stopped selling them. They were supposedly testing out another brand, but I haven't seen anything recently.
Do you have a video on how to make the design? What program etc? Thank you. 🙂
I use photoshop to create most of my designs. Sometimes I purchase from Etsy or download from Creative Fabrica. I print from Photoshop.
I just want to thank you for such an informative video. So many teaching videos skip important steps but you covered every step thoroughly. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words! :) I am glad you found it helpful.
So. The laminate side of the canvas gets the sublimation sheet is that correct ?
That is correct. Thanks for watching!
Are these UV resistant?
Over 45 minutes and you didn't even do a press onto an item to see how it went. That's time I will never get back...
Sorry. This video was all about converting it. I use it many times in the other videos I have.
Thanks for the video ! Could you please tell me if you can make a 13 x 40 inch print. Can you customize the size of print to 13 x 40 inch ? Does it let you do it?
I am not 100% sure on that. I have not tried to use anything larger than the 13x19 paper. I believe some printers will let you feed in a roll.
Is this yhe same hot press machine they use on clothes or more powerful?
This is the same heat press I use for my shirts and all my other blanks.
Does anyone know how much ink one can expect to consume per print..?
It's not as much as you would think. I have only purchased ink one other time since converting the printer.
Do u wash your towels first??
No. I never wash my blanks before using them. The people I make them for could be allergic to soaps so I do not. Thanks for watching!
Thank you sooooooo much! I was looking at an $18 option that I wasn’t even sure would work!!!!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching! :)
I tried this and it worked fantastic, so happy with the results 👍👍🙂🙂
Yay! That's great. Thanks so much for watching!
Yay! Thank you!! :)
Hope it helped! :) Thanks for watching!
How did you punch the hole through the picture? I know the blank material already has a hole for the string. I'm curious how you punched the hole through your design.
I didn't. I just let the design go over the hole. That ensures your entire piece is covered and nothing ends up with a white spot. :)
Thanks
Thank you for watching! :)
were is your first video? I would love to watch it i have so many cartridge that i would love to put on my computer. Thank you.
This turned out just beautiful! Thank you so much for the instructions. Newbie here with sublimation-how exciting to be able to put your art on something yourself.
Yay! Thanks! I totally agree. I love getting to sublimate. :)
What printer and ink?
FYI: The printer is not completely out of warranty just because you put sublimation ink inside of the printer. One should still register the printer. If it's determined that the ink caused an issue with the print head, yes that part is voided. If the printer has an issue with the power or another mechanical problem, it's still covered. Therefore, one should still submit that warranty form to Epson. I'm in the IT world FT.
thank you for this information
Not true. With another Epson printer converted to sublimation few months later paper tray failed and contacted Epson for printer replacement, they said no. Why? Even though the paper tray (Paper try sensor damaged) had nothing to do with the ink, warranty was void just because I used sublimation ink. I have gone all the way up to corporate executive and they too still insist the printer warranty is void. They shared warranty policy link and it does state if not using Epson manufactures inks voids warranty to the entire printer, not just the print heads for ink.
Love this idea. I'd like to try putting the curtain rods on pegboard. I live in an apartment, so I need renter friendly options.
My are curling. Why
You may have your pressure too much. Mine will do that if so. I put them under some heavy books and they are usually fine.
I watched your video and I thought I was the only person who has their press set at a higher count mine is 560 seconds cause I’m also too lazy to keep changing it😂
Hahaha. :) Glad to have a kindred spirit. Thanks for watching!
Actually now that I went to canvas on my design space, I don't see that in the left corner to click on to get to "link cartridges. I'm guessing the site is updated, but I can't find it anywhere...
This was very helpful! Thanks :)
300 x 3. I will have to create that favorite. Thanks for your video. You are awesome!
What is the temperature & Time?
how do you get the laminating sheet not catch little pieces of fuzz! its so staticy then when i sublimate ontop of the vinyl/laminating sheet any white i can see little pieces of fuzz! drives me crazy. TBut the decal looks awesome except for that!
I haven't had this happen yet. I don't take the laminating sheet out until I am ready to use it.
How does a converted ET-8500 or ET-8550 compare to a SureColor F170 for sublimation transfers (as far as quality and color)?
Major difference. Epson SureColor F170 is a 100% sublimation printer where the print heads are designed for sublimation inks. Any other Epson models such as ET-8550 printer the print heads are not design for sublimation inks. Whereby, converting an Epson printer to sublimation is always a risk. Why, sublimation inks will eventually clog the print heads. Can the conversion be done? Yes, but at a risk. Also, any Epson models converted for sublimation will void Espon’s warranty for the entire printer. I have Epson SureColor F170 for the last two years and it still prints awesome. I also think Epson sublimation ink is far better than most brands, vibrant and true to colors. Only drawback is the limitation of paper size, 8 1/2 X 11” to 8 1/2” X 14.
I do not have a SureColor, so I am not sure. I do know I like my 8500 and it has worked well for me. :)
Thank you soooo much for doing this step by step it was soooo helpful. I will be doing bracelets for all my friends. 😊❤
Did yours come with the shimmer? I ordered the same but mine don't have the shimmer
Yes, they came that way.
Does the bar raise! Because I put the bracelet up to the bar and it won’t fit under but I haven’t tried to engrave yet.
Genius! Precutting and storing laminated letters is going to be a game changer when I start teaching in January. I’m horrible at decorating, so this is going to help me out so much. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for watching! :)
Who else was yelling"Move your laptop... move your laptop!" When she hit print
😂😂😂 Haha! Oops. Thanks for watching. :)
I purchased an epson 2808 printer and also purchased extra warranty with it. i used it from february to September and now it will not print black. i called epson and they told me the warranty will not cover it since i used sublimation ink. so if you use sublimation ink it will void your warranty. now i am out a printer and looking for a new one again. whats your take on this?
Yes, you do void the warranty when you convert it. I like this one. It works well so far!
My recommendation is to buy a printer that is made sublimation. Epson SureColor F170 is a sublimation printer that is far cheaper than ET-8850 that isn’t design for sublimation.
How is the printer holding up since you first set it up? I am looking to get one, but I am leary since putting the sublimation ink in the printer will void the warranty. Also, do you have to do a daily maintenance to keep the heads from clogging?
So far I have not had any issues. My only thing is that the inks are hard to tell where they are at because they kind of dye the side of the window area. I do not do daily maintenance. I do try to print once a week or every few weeks if I am not sublimating a lot at that time. I like it!
You are good speaker on video, and clearly explain things. Thanks for the ideas!
Thanks so much!
Good video thanks looks good
Thank you!
What is the update on how long the essential oils last on each air freshener?
you can buy a device that resets the chip in the maintenance cartridge. most are not even half full when the printer tells you it needs a new one. (this may be different for different inks, but you can see by carefully breaking the old one and seeing how full they were.) if you reset the chip and monitor the fullness of the maintenance cartridge you can save lots of money.
Thank you for a great tutorial. I am in the process of making temporary tattoos and I think offset may be the best way for me to create the tattoo without having excess film. If you know of a different way I would love to know your secret.
