    I like the tone, and rhythm. What amp did you run it thru?...I think original was thru fender Prinston with tremolo. I'd be interested in what you did, and settings. Thanks, Dale

    How do I get that tone on my amp

  • @jbl5050
    @jbl50508 күн бұрын

    Hi Donald. Very sorry for my late reply to your comment . I'm not sure what amp you have but I believe on this one I was on the more distorted channel on the Marshall. The difference in tone was of course switching the pickup selector on the guitar with the neck being at full volume with the tone knob dialed back about half way and then switching to the bridge withe volume reduced for a cleaner tone, Hope this helps.

    Magnificent cover! So glad I subbed you just a moment ago. Well....I had the privelege and good fortune to see Uriah Heap in Lincoln, Nebraska either in '73 or '74. Boy, they kicked ass. Nebraska loved 'em.....but Nebr. always rocked hard anyway. Thanks for posting this ballsy, hard drivin' tune! Don't we wish we could just hear this stuff on local FM stations anymore? Those early -mid 1970's were such an exciting time to dig music. Long before it got so polluted and fake throughout the industry. Music came at us every which-way and damn near all of it was pretty much worthy of being on the air. Certainly not all, but we all had great choices available to us as far as live music shows to see.! jbeinarizona

    Brother, you did this one PROUD! I'm 70 in '24, which means I remember when this first hit the airwaves around Tucson where I grew up. My home-boy Jim / Roger McGuinn moved to L.A. and got The Byrds together soon after. I fell in love with the sound of a 12 string. I subbed you on this "first time" hearing you, you can sure play well I feel. Best and God Bless us all jbeinarizona

    jbl5050 Hey again. Have you ever tried to replicate "Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4 - 7/21/1970 - Tanglewood (Offical)" [youtube video name] performance w/the extremely extra long complex lead riffs version?

    jbl5050, Thanks for all the Badfinger. Your chops with changes, riffs, shredding & licks are AMAZING! Could you please consider covering Badfinger's Day After Day? And if you were to do their Carry On Till Tomorrow how would you play it all on your guitar? Also what choice of strings do you buy for your reproductions? Lastly what studio Amp are you using for the Badfinger sounds? I have to be careful in my environment for being TOO LOUD, so I use a Marshally sounding Crate V32 Palomino though I have 8 other more powerful amps for gigs and the like. Note: I've become a subscriber to your youtube channel, Thanks again.

  • @jbl5050

    Hi Donald. Thanks so much for the views and great comment! I'm actually working on a couple Badfinger songs and hope to get at least one on here soon. As far as Day After Day, I'll listen again to it but from recollection there's a lot of slide in it and I suck at playing slide. As far as strings, I use Ernie Ball hybrid which is 9 thru 46. Amp wise I generally play through my Amplitube 3 guitar program. First into a Focusrite interface which goes into the Amplitube program on my computer. I also sometimes record the Marshall at low volume and blend the 2. I also have several amps, but I don't play out anymore. Thanks again and hope this helps you out some. Always a pleasure talking with a Badfinger fan!!

    @jbl5050 Excellent Reply!!! I've been Rockin on my Gibson Les Paul Recording (Walnut 71') & my Original 72' Starburst Red/Black Edge, Fender Precision Bass (original price $300 new, now sells for $5000 but I'd never sell it) since the moment I got them (now have 9 guitars & as many amps & snyths of every kind). Was playing before that though w/not so great guitars. In 71' I bought an Original Fender Kustom 250 Exterminator Amp/Cabinet (the full sized one w/9 effects knobs, 2 channel dbl plug per channel & 4 effects pedals) Black Rolled Leather Bound Amp w/Cast Iron High Horn and 2 x 15' JBL's in the cabinet. It was SO LOUD I actually had hearing damage even w/ear plugs, but folks 3 full blocks away called the cops... Good days, Good Times 'cept for the hearing damage. Your perfornance reminds me why I picked up guitar/lead/rhythm/bass/synth(yamaha DX7)/keyboards etc back in the day. Over the last several years I kinda slacked off & my speed has suffered for it. PLEASE KEEP PLAYIN' DON'T STOP FOR ANYONE. You've got talent young man. As far as Carry On Til Tomorrow & hopefully Come and Get It, they weren't originally written for classic lead & rhythm, but if you had no access to keyboards or slide guitars I was wondering how you would approach it? Any input would be welcome. jbl5050 I will be sharing your channel with my many many thousands of friends on Facebook. I don't suppose you tied your youtube channel into a Facebook one too? If so I'd share both if you approve?! Thanks So Much...
