    As an operator and trainer for 20+ years.. what is disappointing is how everyone brushed it off and back to work. No near miss investigation? No root cause analysis? No care for employee safety.

  • @AurumUsagi

    Some are designed to be ridden on as well. At my workplace, all our PPTs (as we call them here in the UK) are ride-ons, and have retractable platforms that turn them into walkers. You have to take care with them or they'll become warehouse destroying machines.

    The early F J’s had a rear differential susceptible to failure. It went to an 8.2 in 2010. That year through 2014 model in US had very few problems. I just bought a ‘12 w/168,500 miles on it. I love it already.

  • @proxyicarcus
    @proxyicarcus Жыл бұрын

    The cracked transfer case was not a mechanical failure, just the driver failing to protect the underside with a steel skid plate. Not the fault of an FJ Cruiser engineering.. The buggies have steel tubing for protection. Also, an FJ or 4th gen 4runner costs ~$10,000. Those dune buggies cost over $35,000 lol and they are not road legal, nor fun to sit inside ( mosquitoes, mud, no A/C, no heater, etc) and are a different class of vehicle. The transmission coolers on those buggies are like 50x the size of any Jeep/Toyota truck. The fact that a street car can do as much as a dune buggy is pretty cool. You just have to protect it with steel bumpers/skid plates/roll cage if you want to do the same dune buggy activities. Obviously.

    Although I do prefer Raymond double walkers I will use crown single walkers for loading, and every time I forget they for what ever reason when you lift the control arm they will cost for a rather long time unlike the Raymond which is equipped with an emergency brake when the control arm is raised or lowered.

    Jungheinrichs have both the tiller brake and two E-stops (one on the ROPPT and one anti-press-up on the tiller handle). However, the tiller brake on the Jungheinrich can be rather annoying when driving in reverse, as it has a tendency to erroneously activate when you've got the tiller in a certain position. I've had a few instances where my ROPPT would 'bunny hop' and stall like a manual car, even when I have the tiller in the correct position.
