More lifestyle than hobby, more expression than mode of transport
Spending time with your mate just chatting about the automotive passions that are an integral part of one's life is in itself an apt axiom for Tim's Enthusiast Garage. From Music producer and engineer to branding specialist and public speaker Tim has done it all and has a unique passion for European Automobiles. Tim set a goal to provide insight into minor and semi affordable enthusiast vehicles and give these special vehicles the limelight they deserve. The added benefit of helping others to gain and develop a knowledge on buying and maintaing a small collection all while blending a passion for backroad enjoyment track time and the artful aesthetic that these cars represent is a lovely byproduct. Tim has long had a passion to share insight on personal favourites and unique perspectives on ownership, maintenance, buying, selling, modification, display and many other aspects of what it means to be an enthusiast.

I'm not hard of hearing but the music drowned out the narration. Oh but the photography was spot on.
Thanks for watching

Was the Arnage the same body as the Silver Sereph?
Yes , all the major body panels are shared.
The most beautiful car ever made and a total work of art! And, the sound
It’s on the top 10 no matter who is making the list !
Revisiting 5 years later. Still my dream car. Only thing I disapprove of is the MUCH too big steering wheel. Why on earth is it so BIG?
They have always been that way, I’m not sure why and I do agree with you. Cheers! We still have the CL, it’s still a fantastic drive
Awesome video
Thanks so much for watching !
Was the rear spoiler an option
Yes it was. Most the LE cars have it.
It's a drivers car not a hyper car. Your never gonna get a 900kg car doing 2seconds 0 to 60
And that’s ok
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage yes couldn't agree more
Definitely not the last cleanest j out there
That’s good to hear. I have yet to see one cleaner. I’m hopeful
i bought a perfect condition 2005 silver with black interior, with 40k miles. It had the larini exhaust and the upgraded formula dynamics shifts. I drive the car about 1200 miles a year and have not had any problems at a since i bought it 4 years ago. I paid 16k for it. Its crazy that its worth so low, this car should be selling for 40k minimum, i mean its cheaper than mustangs
Man...... that sound brings me straight to groub B rally videos. so awesome.
Yesterday we did a shake down at 27psi. Good lord it’s good
Go Go Algorithm! 5 Cylinders are cool.
Thanks for watching !
Many years ago, I had Quantum syncro and it was my favorite car of all time. Build like a tank, excellent awd system, simple to work on, incredible seats, just a solid driver. After I sold it to an enthusiast, I was depressed even though I had a new Lexus sitting in my driveway. I still miss the car and its simplicity and functionality. I have a severe aversion towards newer digital cars. Fast and capable yes, but soulless. Thank you for the series, brings a lot of fond memories.
Nice video even with a Lotus update :) but why to low quality? You normally have higher quality videos.
This was sort of shot as Instagram stories. Also, there is a 1080 option. Next one will be back to normal, though I will admit the time and file size it takes to make a video is one of the reasons they are not so frequent. I am looking for some sponsors now as I have a back log of about 60 cars including new personal purchases I need to release.
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage That is odd, when I first played it I only got 360, not the 1080. I had to do a refresh to get it. That was odd.
Even in 1080 this one is much more Lofi than my others, I really wanted to get this information up so that later people could come back to it and reference where the car / project started. Thanks so much for your view!
Can’t wait to see in person!
Mechanical is nearly done, then some minor body work and PPF !!
This is really cool!
Super cool idea Tim, hope you enjoy that wicked wagon!
It is wild. Thanks for watching my friend.
Mate, when I decided to check this video out, I did not expect it to be such a high quality production. Well done. The fact that it’s 7 years old and I’m Golf 6 owner probably helps as well. Plus this Golf R is an amazing build. What an engine! It would have been nice to learn a bit more about the handling mods, as handling is one of the Golf’s main strengths. If there were anymore that is. All up? Sub from me. Thanks.
It’s a brilliant and underrated car. H&R coilover set up. Same brand sway bars. Poly bushings. I actually sold this car and I think about it daily. Big mistake. Thanks for watching
This is very early 2000s
One of my favorite vids to revisit
This is an art work. I don't want to project wealth. I want to be enclosed in this utter perfection in motion. The screens and modern tech are right there on your phone. It is not special. Being in this car is an experience for YOU.
Well said!!
Duncan's prices are completely insane.
They start high when the car lands and drop. Keep an eye out for a deal
Question for the alfa enthusiast.... I have two 2015 4c tri coqt red . One is launch with 11 thousand miles and other is base with 3500 miles.. which would you park to hold and keep new ?
Wow! First off, congrats. Beat colour imho. The launch edition coupes will be the ones to eventually climb so if I was going to keep one perfect, it would be that one. The other one, tune, lower, mod, track as you see fit !
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage thanks for the advice . I literally have been beating myself up over which to drive a lot. I feel the same way you do about the launch. Mine is 32 of 500. In Australia I guess they are already over 140k and climbing . My wife thinks I'm nuts owning two of them. I literally just bought them last week and dam I'm in love.
@@justobey733 there is nothing else even close.
Oh boy. Horribly redone upholstery…. Headrests on backwards (what’s that all about)…. Arse end is way too high. I leave any reference to the childish gearknob to others. Awful example.
The interior is lovely. Their prior owner had his own “desires”. The rests “fit is head” better this way. As to the Arse in end, it’sfine you arse dragger. The gear knob was truly dreadful. We replaced some of the aftermarket bits and it brought 28k at auction. Kindest regards despite your yobbish comment.
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage you are completely incorrect. High arse end is a problem with the rear height control system - totally wrong. As an “expert”, you may wish to then explain why the positive camber in the rear? The leather was redone very poorly. But clearly you believe you know more. The biggest issue with poor Rolls-Royce restoration is “know alls” who know little.
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage Evidently truth and facts are insulting to you. That speaks volumes.
@@JSDesignHK you are being absolutely ridiculous. Thanks so much for your expertise , I can only assume your last comment was filled with vitriol as it disappeared before I could even read it all. Maybe there was cursing? I’m not sure mate
What are those wheels?
Borbet type C
3d printer for plastic
It’s a gorgeous car, Enjoy a Cult status in Europe. I was the first (3 years ago ) to import an entirely restored 1996 Pininfarina Coupe, 2L, 16v, Turbo plus, in original Rosso Corsa ( Speed Red ) with Limited edition body kit. It steal the show at every car meet I go. In Las Vegas, NV
One of my dream cars 😍 Hope to find one to drive someday!
I’ve always wanted one of these!
Do it !!
In Europe it's most commonly paired with a 2.2 diesel, which gives back over 30mpg and can easily do over a MILLION miles
Sadly we don’t have that option, and a great one it is
Lampredi engine in the 16 v turbo is wonderful. Also same engine as the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale
I mention this a couple of times in the video. Great engine!
Hi Tim, Thanks for sharing this great video! How can I have my 4200 TCU tuned as mentioned?
You need a kind main dealer who understands what you are asking or an independent with access to the factory flash files (usually an ex Maserati/ Ferrari tech now on his own
Thanks very much!
Beautiful ah car
Your message in the first 2 minutes of this video is just awesome 👏 So many channels go down the route of gimmicks and click baits, and I personally hate that. I love your honesty and enthusiasm, hence I watch all your videos.
I really appreciate that! More parts just came in for this car and I am hoping to have it together for next summer
BEAUTIFUL CAR
Cheers!
Love mine....never parting with it.
Same mate!
Tim, I absolutely love the sound of the Quattroporte at 0:26 when it up shifts and then later decelerates. You hit the rev limiter perfectly and shifted just in time to make it sound pretty close to the manual Quattroportes. Also, that sharp Ferrari sound is impeccable and is apparently hard to achieve with cars like the GranSport/4200GT due to how their exhaust differs. Do you still have the full raw unedited B roll without music over it? I'd really appreciate if you could upload that as is or within a compilation. Cheers
Their marketing was bad? Umm it had its own video game (thats was actually good) and not to mention Top Gear Uk. People like them, ive shown gen z kids these and 80% of them think they're amazing. However... Availability and parts are next to non.
Tim, why have you left us hanging on the Esprit S4 from TWO YEARS AGO! We've still never seen it assembled and the paint job in the sun.
Zero work has happened
Muscular Elegance.
Indeed
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage I absolutely love your channel. You seem like you are talking to me as a friend.
@@margaretbehler4935 so good to hear this, it is my aim! Cheers!
Love the sound. Always thought the 4 cyl Esprit’s sounded better than the V8. I once test drove a late 80s Esprit and it sounded phenomenal. Still kick myself for not getting it!
Yes, I totally agree. The 4 is very special
but does America have the twisty roads it was built for?
Sadly where I currently live, no. About 20 min north of me begins the old car and driver test route which I take cars to every spring and fall. I do wish I had some more twisty bits to enjoy regularly
Thanks…now I am in love…how do I tell my wife?…..😉
She’ll understand 🙃
The US Army quietly sold their manufacturing to private equity. Unfortunately that requires war to be a 24/7 deal so it can be profitable. Which we now see happening.
You nailed it Tim. The 4200 is the last true Maserati ever made. I got one in Manual. Have the Spyder too, a Cambiocorsa - I find it even more beautiful. Like your Channel, like your collection. Way to go. Pls do a update video on the cars that are still there and their condition. The 'problem' with the Cambiocorsa is the cost - Here in Europe they ask from 6 to 8K to replace the clutch, that's what kills the market for it.
Wow. It is less than half that cost to to the clutch here . Keep enjoying them! Thanks for your comment, many update videos coming this season !
Like the wheels you put on it. This is the first gen QP 4. Like the fact you 'feel' the car and it's esthetics. P.S. the AC on those cars is amazing! and the temp gauge is always wrong, on all cars ;-) By the way you can see the car on the last James Bond movie, it's getting it's much deserved love in Europe.
I continue to be impressed with this car. Currently doing some preseason service on it to enjoy it this summer !
Beautiful Job. But I wouldn't lower it . Had 4 of those. One of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Thanks for your input. For the time I will be keeping it where it is. I have seen some lowered cars and I def don’t want the slammed look
On my 10th Turbo R - a real Bentley. Classy, powerful and over engineered. BMW and Volkswagen really ruined Bentley.
You SZ guys are hilarious. I had a Mulsanne (turbo R body) back when I got the Arnage. I would have another, a rhd Turbo R would be ideal. There are a few points about the SZ cars I will concede are a bit more old world, overall they are a lesser car in my eyes. The Mulsanne that replaced the Arnage is also a lovely car despite some VW parts sharing. Thanks for watching! Enjoy your Turbo R
@@TimsEnthusiastGarageJust passionate - the same goes for my heavily modded 2006 Maserati GranSport…a real Maserati…not Stellantis one 😂.
My son lives in Beverly Hills and has a 1973 Caribbean Blue Silver Shadow which is his pride and joy. A beautiful piece of elegance, ageless and classic styling . He’s from Leyland in Lancashire . Not bad for a Northerner!
Funny, I was recently in Beverly Hills (my pal with the 8C lives there) and we saw two early Silver Shadows. I love to seen them in use. Cheers and thanks for watching !
I've had a 2016 (in indigo blue over light grey) for almost a year now, and I couldn't agree more with your conclusions. I struggle to imagine anything I'd rather daily: it's just so competent at *so* many things. The indium grey looks so good on yours!
Thanks for watching! These are truly special
@pittytho8638 I guess you and I are “weird” together because I too absolutely love the 1980’s Nissan 300zx. I just recently bought a 1986 300ZXwith 85k that’s in awesome condition and I also bought a 1996 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo with only 71k miles!! Life is good!! Go get yourself one!!
