The best part of this one, Sammy Davis cuts the absolute shit out of Hines and had him stuck....And he's lookin at Gregory, hands folded in front of him, like "Okay youngin; whatcha got for that?" Dope clip...#RIPGHnSDJ

Nothing, NOTHING , COULD HAVE KEPT Sammy Davis from appearing at this event, and dancing with Hines. At the end of his life he got one more big jolt of love and appreciation and he received it with love, playfully, creatively. Cry every time I watch this. Btw, those that feel some kinda way about the jokes he endured from even his closest friends, remember he started in the 30’s. When he joined the army it was segregated. When he first layer Las Vegas it was segregated. He could not visit the casinos where he entertained. It was Frank Sinatra who helped him break those barriers at a time when Sinatra was at a low point and it cost him something to demand the hotels let Sammy stay there , eat there, gamble there. When it would have been better for Sammy to leave Frank behind he did not because Frank had stretched out for Sammy. Dean, Joey Bishop whatever, but Frank was a real friend.
