"THE HAUNTING" as well as all else here mentioned is an art film noir masterpiece. It was remade in the late 1990s.

The woman in Carnival of Souls is ASOCIAL, not ANTISOCIAL. Antisocial people are HIGHLY sociable, but lack morals and empathy. Asocial people are simply introverted and prefer music, literature, and art over social interaction.

My second favorite Cannon film (after LAM) is 52 Pick-Up, with Roy Scheider, Ann-Margret, Vanity, John Glover and Clarence Williams III.

Nicholas Cage is inconsistent. He’s phoned in many straight-to-video films because he was in debt. But if you watch “Leaving Las Vegas”, “Pig”, and “ Mandy”, you can see the great acting he’s capable of.

Probably out here alone, but Lake Mungo is way overrated IMO. There are two kinda maybe scary parts, and I think it's well made with the mocumentary take. Watched it with my family and they were completely bored throughout.

"Fluffy," the carnivorous creature from "The Crate," reminded me of the subterranean monsters in H. P. Lovecraft's, "The Lurking Fear." "A whiteish, gorilla-like thing with yellow fangs..." ("The Lurking Fear").

I'm a huge VS fan! I have been ordering from them since 2019. I'm not a subscriber, but I pick up a lot during sales. I am waiting on my subscriber week order, I ordered 9 titles. I just watched Memorial Valley Massacre and its hilarious. 80's horror camp! My favorite VS release has been Beastmaster. Enjoying the channel!

I picked up Memorial Day Massacre because it has Cameron Mitchell in it. He’s one of the best B movie stars of the 80s. I also picked up Night Train To terror, which is anthology movie from the 80s. Also with Cameron Mitchell

This was a great video. I have so many memories of going to the local shop to rent the latest vhs releases from this era. I'm 50 so this was basically my childhood/teenage years home entertainment. Bloodsport is also a favourite of mine and I just re-watched Lifeforce last week as I hadn't seen it in ages. Runaway Train is also a belter and any of the ninja/martial arts fests they made. My dad also loved Chuck Norris so we watched as many of those as we could. Just thought I'd also mention that I'm a woman and I still love all of these films, even the crappy looking ones with hilarious storylines and special effects. To me that's added enjoyment! 🤣 So nostalgic.

Hey man, Shallow Grave is awesome, it's got Death Proof vibes and a wicked 70s grindhouse aesthetic. Girl School Screamers is good to, troma must have acquired it because it's not their usual fayre. Cthulu Mansion is fun 😁 in my opinion you made some great choices from the VS catalogue Enjoy

I have this on dvd. It is a good movie. I liked all the segments. I like how he went into more about the first segment. Betty Field was an actress from the late 1930s till the late 1960s. More of a supporting actress in the '50s annd '60s. I remember watching this late one night on tv. Not a horror film but it had a dark atmosphere about it.

I would also have 'City of the Dead' here, a favorite as a kid and later. 'Village of the Damned' is pretty creepy and I saw that you mentioned 'The Innocents'. 'Peeping Tom' is here for me, although it is almost too disturbing. I also love that backstory about the ballroom site at the Great Salt Lake from 'Carnival of Souls' and I think 'Cape Fear' is '62. Great upload.

Never heard, of this picture. Looks watchable. The leading lady, beautiful??? I guess maybe, if you're British, or British descent. Just wait 'till she speaks, and sounds like Juliet Child, or Margaret Thatcher, with a pack-a-day, cigarette voice😝. English women always has that, if you notice😉.

I am also obsessed with VS and I also signed up for the entire 2023 subscriber package, but sadly regrated it because there were too many titles, I wasn't a fan of and would not have boughten on their own. Now I still buy a ton of VS releases and probably own over 150 titles from them and the partner labels they team up with.

Love the channel, love that you love this movie, but you need to lean in to the cartoon aspects right from the beginning, IMO. All that silliness sets the tone for the movie and I love it. I mean, maybe my favorite shot in the movie is the cartoon frame of Billie seeing the thing from The Crate. Lean in with me! Funny that for years (I saw this when it came out) The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill was considered not only the weakest segment but actually the segment that sinks the movie and man I do NOT agree. The crazy cartoonishness, including King's performance, just makes it the actual highlight of the film for me these days. By the way, I love Knight Riders. Love it. It's a bit long and maybe drags a bit in the middle but it's oddly almost like an art-house movie in a weird way. Anyway, great overall review and as usual our tastes align so closely that all I can do is pick nits.

I really recommend "The Last Keepers". A rather gentle movie of the last pagan witch family and the coming of age (and power) of the daughter. Stars Aiden Quinn and Olympia Duakis. I watch it every autumn/Halloween.

Saw it once when 1st came out. The last tale with the cockroaches really creeped me out. The Stephen king segment wasn't great, in fact the review of the film said his segment was the worst and he should stick to writing and not acting (paraphrasing what the review said). Have you seen the CreepShow anthology TV show on Shudder? AMC has broadcast each season. I enjoy the series and on the whole the segments are great (some not so great but still entertaining).
