Hello railway enthusiasts.
My name is Jamie and I am a 14-year-old railway enthusiast based in Melbourne, Australia.
On this channel "Victorian Rails" You will find cinematic train content in Melbourne. I film heritage trains dating back to the 20th and 19th centuries, as well as freight and passenger trains.
My passion for trains started in 2015 when I was introduced to trains for the first time. On February 7th 2022, Victorian Rails joined KZread.

ITS only around 3 miles in length and the famous tunnel is no longer in use the restoration of the track to Yarra Glen in merely a pipe dream and I sincerely doubt if it will ever be done Same problems as always not enough money and insufficient number in rhe work force If you want to stay viable repair tunnel and extend to Tarrawarra
a decent train on Belgrave line
cool
Great video Jamie, it's great to see a steam train running on the belgrave line, it reminds me of when puffing billy used to run from upper ferntree gully to belgrave many years ago. Keep your steam up mate, fairdinkum. Kevig
They have a very good video Jamie didn't get a chance to run into you because of the bad weather I did plan B when it's bad weather but some of your locations I would have done if the weather was good at very good video mate hopefully we might run into each other on Saturday
What camera do you have?
Panasonic HC-1500X.
I remember Mr. Drysdale from "The Beverly Hillbillies." Good comic actor.
very cool video Jamie, steam looks cool in the rain
Definitely, thanks!
You gotta love the Vr 5 chime whistles
I hate to be picky, but I counted 5 Tait carriages. 317M 341T 230D 208T 381M Steamrail's entire operational Tait fleet, in fact.
4:10 someone on the other side was standing on a pile of ballast
Your outro is so fun!
Thankyou!
I was on the Q train to and from Drysdale pulled by a South African Steam engine in 2022
A very good video Jamie good to see you and your dad obviously we'll catch up over the next two consecutive weekends with events
Thankyou, definitely will be seeing you next weekend!
It would be so cool to explore in there! I think the stuff in there would be so rusted and corroded that it would simply fall apart under any contact. Great use of the drone mate!
Wow this is amazing! I would assume this is the area that got burnt down with the swing doors, explaining why it looks in this state, some awesome things in there though l, great video
Why did you delete all your other YouYube shorts on your KZread channel?
Because they were outdated.
Saw this going through south Yarra!
That is a beautiful shot with the rising sun in the background!
It was midday when this happened, but thankyou for your comment.
@@VictorianRails2024 You are welcome
That was Jamie and I we went for a bike ride and saw that
Indeed we did James!
It’s a nice set up, but a really strange tucked away spot for a train station.
I agree, thanks!
@@VictorianRails2024 well it really is a just a convenient way of creating a new terminus with the least disruption.
@ianmontgomery7534, Pakenham Station should now serve people who want to get off there. I feel like before East Pakenham, a lot of people got off at Pakenham because: It was the terminal of the line + The only stop for East Pakenham. With the East Pakenham Station now built, people can get off at the stop they wanted without taking other transport.
Great shots of this brand new station! Would love to come down and see it at some point!
Thankyou, you definitely should.
The station looks so cool
Yes it does, thanks!
I am the Asian-looking dude that was at East Pakenham and Pakenham stations the same time as you are. Sorry if I did end up in the way of your shots!
All good.
Great Video Jamie
Thankyou Luca.
Awesome to see N Class back on the line. Station looks great. Thanks for the upload. 👍
Thankyou, you are welcome.
G'day Jamie 😀. Great video of Melbourne's newest station East Pakenham. At least it will be easier for both suburban, regional and freight trains to pass each other without major disruption like what used to happen at the old pakenham station. Keep your steam up mate, cheers. Kevig
Agreed, thankyou.
Good video Jamie
That’s my vid thanks vic rails for the shout out
I love k163 its my 3rd favourite
Really good footage and info well done
Nice one Jamie, the cinematography was beautiful especially when the big blue R cross the Moorabool viaduct with a rainbow visible in the background. I also enjoyed listen to the locomotive working hard up Warrenheip Bank on the climb out from Ballarat. It reminded me of some old archive films of the Victorian railways I witnessed when I was young. Keep your steam up mate. Cheers Kevig
Great Video, how do you get your audio so good? my camera/microphone distorts the louder audio even the crossing bells or cars passing.
Promised to be your 1000 sub!!! Good job ol’chad 😊😊😂

good job old chap 😊
Excellent! Great Photography and editing. The five chime sounded great, but so out of place.
Love the way people ride these trains with their legs hanging out. If that was seen in the UK that railway would be instantly shut down, probably for ever.
Puffing Billy is known for this and has been since I can remember. The railway itself did get rid of the idea for a while before they brought it back. Thanks for your comment, have a nice day.
There is a vid in KZread called : Gembrook Railway 1947 48 Not only legs hanging out but many standing on the carriage running boards back then under the huge crowds travelling. Probably goes back further than that aided by the wide clearances beyond the train. Yet no reports of any serious injuries yet alone fatalities.
The vid from the distant past : kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGZsyMGudKi7YNI.htmlsi=Qcz0or0IKR1UGe66
@@johnd8892 Actually a local man, from Monbulk, designed new, safer seating that allowed for the reintroduction of the window sill seating. It was banned for a time. That man is named is Professor Arnold Dix, he is an engineer, specialising in underground safety, he is also a barrister, and a flower farmer. He was also heavily involved if the rescue of 41 Indian tunnel workers trapped in the collapsed Uttarakhand tunnel in Northern India in the Himalayas, just last year.
Why did they fit the 5 chime whistle on this particular occasion? Sounds better than the single tone whistle for sure, they should fit it as the main whistle!
Fantastic video, great shot at Selby trestle bridge. Wonderful sound of the whistle echoing through the valley!!
Nice one Jamie 😀. Great cinematography on a rainy day. I was at emerald station too! I was not only there to film the train, I was also there to pay my respects to all who sacrificed themselves for peace in all the world during times of war. Lest we forget. It was a great show, seeing puffing billy with a big 5 chime steam whistle, it echoed from the mountains to the valleys as it was very loud! Keep up your steam mate. Cheers Kevig
Thankyou mate.
Nice video!!
Nice one mate
I'm commenting this on April 25th, Anzac Day, I would like to pay my respect to the Anzacs who lost their lives in Gallipoli, on April 25th, 1915.
Great video mate! shame for the HCMT though!
Thanks mate, ah, nothing you can do about a spark block. -Victorian Rails
Yep, happened to me at Union for the first steam shuttles.@@VictorianRails2024
