    is i expensive, and would it be worth it for garden walls, that need making look nicer? - they probably need re pointing, would just chucking this over the whole lot save me doing that? looking for a 'lazy' solution, tbh.

    Excellent videos. My only comment is to outline the timings. So 1) pva - first coat 2) 1st coat - flatten 3) flatten- 2nd coat 4) 2nd coat - flatten 5) 2nd flatten - polish

    If I were to render over an external painted pebble dash, what should I coat it with please? I've heard you paint water and PVA glue on it first. I'm wanting to put tiles on it. Thanks in advance. Great vid.

    If you think there is any asbestos do NOT drill holes into it wether it's a small dose or not, asbestos is ridiculously harmful and WILL cause health issues, get rid of it completely and properly, I'm sorry but I had a family member who suffered with asbestos poisoning and I just cannot agree with the video on this one, asbestos should not be messed with if you don't know what your doing or have the correct equipment and ppe to remove it

    Not sure you're gonna see this, but I need some help so I will give it a go.. When do you start flattening the wall with the speed skim? Do you give it some time to set, or are you going as soon as possible after applying the first coat? Thank you in advance, and thank you for these videos man, they really are a lot of help!

    She's a natural but also well taught- her method taking the plaster off the hawk is pukka. Really liked you commenting on the sound the trowel makes- tells you a lot about the way the gear is going on. I would encourage bringing plaster down to the skirt instead of starting with a full trowel down there but maybe too tricky for a beginner?

    How would you manage to get a sharp finish on non-90 degree angle/corners? I have a conservatory project where ive blocked-up the walls and it's corners are 135 degrees. I'd like to board a section and render around the remaining windows with the rest being timber cladding.

    Always lay on with a steel trowel, and if needed, use the flexi to polish, but you shouldn't need any more trowels than your carbon finishing trowel.

    Am I mistaken or is this simply the same thing as exterior stucco method (I'm in USA).. and here it's called the brown coat / scratch coat (which is typically applied to a metal grid mesh layer) and then then top coat which usually has colorant added, such as tan, gold, rust, etc...

    Great video series thanks! Before I knew how to plaster I skimmed some our walls with loads of easifiller looking very wobbly. Hoping to properly plaster the other walls now, but what would you recommend for the walls that are basically soft with easifiller? Do I need to scrape back to the originals walls if I wanted to plaster them properly or is the best option going to be lining wallpaper over the easyfill layer? (They are currently painted but looking quite ripply in some lighting!)

    Does this apply to traditional lime plaster as well, or just gypsum based plaster? Thanks!

  • @guilhermemonteiro127
    @guilhermemonteiro1277 күн бұрын

    prior to apply gypsum plaster, you need at least 1 coat of PVA bond agent, (Thistle GypPrime), to prevent adhesion failures. At British Gypsum website there is plenty of datasheet, videos and information about installation.

    Fantastic video and the expansion strip wow that's so important to stop cracks, I mean who wants to do the job twice. So much detail and a nice smooth finish. Normally I don't like this finish of a lot of render I see as its soooooo grainy. I did like a 3hr render workshop yearssss ago, I remember the foam float (different to yours) with a grainy finish (yes same from instructor lol) I don't remember the sponge. Heres hoping I do a good job
