I wish I could go back. So many hikes there, rain, snow, heat, didn't matter. Snow was my favorite.

what makes it so tough is that there are few remaining tracts of original forest.

Thanks for doing this. I'm still hoping one day the Perdition Trail between Wahkeena and Multnomal Falls will re-open.

There was a 1000 year old cedar tree, up the hill from our cabin , it got spared much like that cabin at jawbone. I spoke with the president, about focusing more on the native American history of that site, hopefully that will be a main focus going forward. On top of all the other wonderful work the ancient forest center does. Healing and blessings 🙌

I've grown up out in the willamette national forest, we owned a cabin on the Southside of detroit lake, for the better part of a decade. Exploring the untouched parts of Oregon, the high cascade Mountain lakes, like Tumble and Opal Lake. Opal lake was a very special place to me, and a very cleansing experience to walk down from the lake after jumping in, to the waterfalls below leading to opal creek. It's an ancient place and always will be, we were there that fateful night and morning, part of me Passed away with the forest that night. We spent our sons first 7 years out in these sacred and beautiful part of the cascade Mountains. A remnant of eden as it were

every beautiful pristine part of our planet will disappear this century. the coral reefs are mostly gone, the virgin temperate forests, etc exactly as foretold by that scifi classic w/ bruce dern. "Silent Running"

Yeah just ignoring the fact that the logging industry is responsible for 85% of replanted trees, not specifically speaking towards this company but quit Vilifying the logging industry as a whole because it’s stupid and wrong of you to lie to people…

Seems to be the popular style of production these days...split second flashes of imagery. I don't get it. Ironically, the word Sacred was used to describe Opal Creek, which in fact it Truly is....somehow the producer's of this video didn't get the message.

Heartbreaking to see the overhead view, I've struggled to watch anything until now, we live in Mill City and have doesn't lots of time in opal creek and and North fork over the years. I'm thankful there is still green life and cabin 4. Hugs for what you must be going through... 🥰
