In 2007 I remember watching a History Channel documentary and sitting alone in my apartment at 19. The song, "I am a Patriot" was featured in the soundtrack of that particular show and my imagination was running wild. Using my neighbor's wifi without permission i found Iraq Unplugged. I had friends who had joined the different branches right out of high school a year earlier and I wanted so badly to muster up the courage to go myself. At the time I was working as a forklift mechanic for Toyota and I remember writing a letter to my friend Devon who was in Iraq with the Marine Corps. It's pretty vivid even now, telling him how he wasn't missing much here at home and that I was using an empty pizza box for a writing surface for this letter and in between seasonal jobs trying to make my half of the rent. What a time. In March of 2008 I joined the Army infantry. In 2024 I'm thankful.

Still love it. Here is a story bro. I am a SWAT cop now. And today i had to take the SWAT MRAP to a place for citizens to walk by and check it out. Its a big event. Called “Touch a Truck”. All city vehicles were represented. So anyways… this young SWAT cop who has never EVER done anything is with me and I notice “SWAT COP A” (no names) got a new tat. So we were there at touch a truck and i noticed his tat. Its St. Michale killing a fire breathing dragon. It covers his WHOLE arm. Its a nicely done tat no doubt…. So i asked him why he got it. He says cause it represents him. He asks me.. why dont you have tattoos? I says…. What would i stain me with? He says… Oh i dont know… you have been arond the world…. He made it pointless. I says…. Why stain my cheap skin???? My soul has the scars and stains. My mind and memory are what tells my story…. How can i tattoo an American dad who didnt go home on my body? How can I attest to the men who didn’t go home on that side either on account of me??? No artist can capture that. It wouldn’t be good enough. It would cause an amputation. He looked at me and kinda joked it off. But i want a tat. I just dont know what….. ok. Thats my drunk shpil! 🫡

There are two power chord shapes with the root note on the A string. I don't know what they're called, but you can mess around on the fretboard and find the matching pitches. The open chords are A (with an open B string) that I play with my ring and pinky fingers, and a standard E chord. Hopefully that helps
