Thai parents discriminate against their own daughters by encouraging them into the six industry, but not their sons.
Thailand is complete shit without a car. I’ve done both. People think they can get places without a car but it’s kinda not true. Like I do camping and fishing trips. How am I supposed to transport all my fish and gear back without a car? Most things worth doing you need a car. I guess you can just get around with a backpack on but without toys running around where is the fun in that? You need a car.
Don’t pay the fine. Get the new tax plaque and move on. I’d also advise to start doing your own oil changes. It’s only one bolt and unscrew a filter
I don't tip. I give money to the very poorest.
Well insulate ok
Interesting information on the car 🚗 & police stop. Love the aeroplane ✈️ 😅
Stunning
Ryan, I agree with you on this issue although I have considered going to Viet Nam or Cambodia to avoid some tax issues but at the end of the day, like you my Thai wife and I have two houses here in Chiang Mai and while our kids are grown and in the USA, we still have retired here for the last 4 years and I just do not feel like leaving until it is necessary. Most of your opinions I agree with and I enjoy seeing your every day living. Hope to visit someday or have you here. Otis might like our swimming pool.
Steering wheel shaking above 80 km/h is likely due to out of balance tires. I highly recommend Cockpit in Nang Rong or Buriram (next to the PTT Station before you get to Robinson's, coming from the south) for anything related to wheel alignment or balancing. Highly recommend.
Interesting that they recognized you as a vlogger. In my Nick of the woods Philippines, the police set up road blocks and check vehicles usually scooter drivers are out of compliance. We are always current with our registrations so I’ve never been ticketed.
No sympathy. The taxes are next to nothing. Pay attention to your paperwork. Taxes, insurance and inspections are common everywhere. 5k baht is the additional insurance, the required is about 400 baht. Replace all of the suspension bushings while they have the front end apart. They are cheap and can save your life. The most annoying part is that the insurance dates do not match the inspection and tax dates.
Basically you didn’t pay your tax and you publish a report about it 😂 sorry but I was waiting for the clue or the joke in your video 😅
Russians are the problem.
The yellow building is the inspection station. Cars need a yearly inspection when they are seven years old. Some of the inspection stations will do the compulsory insurance. The tax is paid at the DLT (department of land transport) once you have compulsory insurance and the inspection if required. The inspection stations will go to the DLT and get your tax sorted for a small fee, usually about 200 baht, and takes them a few days to do. You can take the documents to the DLT yourself if you don't want to pay the fee. Takes me ten minutes to do at my local DLT.😮
Dude get that steering fixed. It's what is called a tie rod. If that lets loose, the tire will steer all the way in one direction causing you to most likely crash. It's not something to ignore.
Done 👍 we had to wait for parts
@@thenakedguru Good to hear. Never had one let go while driving, but I have seen the aftermath. Glad to know it's fixed. Best of health to you!
Bad boy, I get my wife to remind me.
Hi, love your videos, personal question, have Thai wife and 2 kids with her but I don’t know how to support myself and children if I move there so I’m waiting till I’m about 5 years before pension Any ideas how to live there now ? She has a small restaurant buiness and probably clears 500 baht per day profit which we could expand but I don’t want to move there and end up having to come back to U.K. Sorry for asking just looking at some one who has done it , no answer no problem 👍 Anyway we’ll done for just doing it , thank you
So a car tax? Is that the same as a registration?
yes
Vietnam 💪
Enjoy your work brother 👍👍 If you are ever in rural Thailand look me up 🇹🇭
You should learn the basics like filling the coolant and oil checking the tyres and brakes . You don't need to know much more as modern cars are often quite complex. Doing the basics will save you money and keep you safe
I paid a fortune to fix the automatic gearbox on an Chevrolet.
Shipping containers are notorious for being a hot box . Now with reciprocal driving rights regarding driving licences, does travel insurance cover you incase of an accident ?
Definitely take my moped on the back of my truck when we go touring especially in big towns and cities I just use the moped park the truck up smart thinking goes a long way
Oh yes they will get you for everything even if it don't excist I tend to have a very good relationship with the local police it always helps lol
I don't have any money problems I don't have any lol
Having a car for me is a feeling of freedom jump in go where you want to go I have a Toyota Hilux 3D work horse love it and brilliant on diesel
I had a long day today with a few first world problems and got home and poured a glass of Pinot and chose your vlog because I felt like listening to your voice Ryan. I needed a calming tone to chill a bit. Thank you
I saw a plane like that in Chiang Mai too, and they built a restaurant near it.
I was stopped for not having a motorbike licence they gave me a 200 baht fine and a slip and was told dw if you get stopped again just show them the slip 😕
Try Direct Asia for insurance - cost me 340 baht a mont for Full Comp. They were testing the direction of the lights
สภาพ - condition สุขภาพ - health สุภาพ - polite which all sound similar .
Impressive
Phuket gets heavy rain, you need a car. But the traffic is terrible, so you also need a motorbike.
This is proof for those who doubt that Thai police, especially immigration officers, monitor foreigners on social media platforms. Who is working and what are they saying about Thailand? We are always being watched, don’t doubt it. Also regarding the car tax and inspection, did you mention that the inspection only has to be done once the car is 7 years old.
Yes 3 officers were subscribers I suggest always having the words KZreadr added to work permit And I didn’t mention - this is an important point 👍👍
Thats funny, we have to do this today for our car and motorbike 😊
Best of luck 👍
With no current Thai driving license --you MAY find your car insurance invalid? Get the License!
I have a license 🤣
You need to know how to check your oil water and tire pressure its very easy.
Sorry, You Guys had to go through this d Shit...❤
I am amazed that people would even judge in our society most of American poor are waring pajama bottoms and halter tops and we just people that actually work for a living. So shameful that we look at things this way, I am ashamed of being an American that has had opportunity, worked hard and smart to get where I am. I fell in love with Isan woman and changed my view of all. It became a world view of what I could do with what I have and be with a person that can respect and appreciate maybe something I can not see. You do not see the anxiety in Thailand that American work themselves into. I have been amazed with what I have seen, ashamed to be American compared to Thai.
Merit
We also have a plane here in Mai Tang Thailand kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5iBmaN8k5XcqJs.html&ab_channel=MotoGirlinThailand
Oh my god, you're almost worse than my wife with a car. Now that you have your tax renewed, add a reminder to your phone for the next renewal date with the amount you paid this year. Get a paper calendar for the house and add the renewal date and amount to that. I do the same for my visa & 90 day reporting. Make it a habit. I keep a notepad logbook of how much I spend on the car, including fuel and efficiency. A low km per litre is the first sign of a problem. Also helps me budget for repairs and replacement. Break out the manual for the car, or search for it online. Find what fluids are needed and the location of the fillers and level indicators, especially the oil dipstick. A small torch is your friend here, keep it in the car only for this. Check these each week and before a long trip. Check them after getting a service. I've seen mechanics swindle people out of thousands because the coolant cap was not replaced at a service and the engine seized into one lump. The weekly check should also include tyre pressure and all lights. Sounds like the rod you talk about is the steering tie rod. It connects the road wheel to the movements you make on the steering wheel. If that breaks entirely, no more steering, and you are going to have a very bad day. Get it sorted ASAP. A good mechanic is your best friend.
500 baht fine is cheaper than paying the car rego/gov insurance which I believe is 1000. It seems it's optional. Plus further insurance. Also optional. Life is optional. Being Bad is optional. Eating meat is optional. Dying today is optional.
Stay eternal, brother.
In Australia used to be called a pink slip as the form is pink in color but now it is done electronic and if passed is sent to the RTA same sort of checks but also a short drive with a machine to test the brakes. And even easier for motorcycles only checking the headlights and indicators are working to pass costing $28 in Sydney.
It happens often and applies to motorcycles as well! It's a real money maker for the police. I try to keep up with my tax stamps and insurance but occasionally miss them. I am taking Google-translated photos of the tax sticker showing the expiration date (in English) and keeping the paper in plain sight. Every car owner must know how to check oil and water levels in their vehicle!
We all have our strengths and non-strengths. You tune my sax. I’ll check your car.
That airplane veered off the runway on landing 8. sept. 2013 and was stored until 2017, before being sold as a cafe decoration 😂 Google HS-TEF and you can see pictures of it flying 😅
A little bit of maintenance, check oil, coolant level, tyre pressures, might save you from bigger problems and costs, plus its can be a safety issue, its not rocket science.
Just a tip, I know how it is to drive at night in Thailand. Your headlights looks like they could need a polish and new brighter bulbs. Makes a huge difference for the night driving at rural Thai roads where people tend to appear out of nowhere..
my husbands big pickup here in the USA is 20 years old and the tax is $28 USD and no inspection
