Looks like a neat job, but would an over-sized cut out and a bit of mortar have given you a safety margin to stop chaffing on the pipe/cable??, Maybe.
@revivalworkshopАй бұрын
Thanks, a very good point I maybe should have done. Although there is a little bit of room and I honestly don’t think it’s going to move at all. Especially with its location, the area has very little use. It’s actually and electric armour cable feeding my garage. 👍🙂

Can i use a drop of washing up liquid as plasticider?
@revivalworkshop2 ай бұрын
Hi Kieren, you can use washing up liquid but it isn’t ideal, as although it does act as a plasticiser it weakens the strength of the mortar, it also drys really white, bringing more of the salts out to the surface. I would recommend a proper plasticiser, it’s not expensive and probably works out cheaper than washing up liquid. You might have noticed I didn’t actually use any in this mix as it was just to set a short row of block paving edge. So depending on the job your doing that is your other option. 👍🙂

@revivalworkshop3 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, you are absolutely correct. It was an obvious flaw in my design and something I plan on correcting. I plan to weld on a couple of small L shaped pieces of flat bar to catch the to existing bolts, ie I would slide the whole bender assembly over the edge of the bench and drop in the two bolts. Probably just use them as pins wouldn’t need to tighten them up. I actually nearly did this as I built it, not sure why I didn’t, trying to save time I guess. 😏 Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
