Hi & welcome to my channel where I talk about books! I love to read almost all genres, and I also love to try almost all crafts so stick around if you’re into that too!
The stranger beside me has also been on my TBR forever. 🤣

I resonate a lot with your opinions on we are the weather! I am glad I read it, it gave me perspective on how to have certain conversations and it has allowed me to recommend it to other people but I've been vegetarian for 5 years so it was a bit of a preaching to the choir situation

The River of No Return is the first in a series, so you read a cliffhanger. It doesn't say when the sequel comes out. 📚 😁

Hooray for "Brotherless Night." I've been anticipating reading it for the Asian Readathon, and my library hold for it just came through. I think it is also nominated for the Women's Prize for Fiction this year. Thank you for your excellent summarizations on all these titles! x

So glad to hear someone else's thoughts on the full shortlist. I agree that Birnam Wood is best recommended to a specific type of reader. I was so impressed by Coleman Hill, especially the distinct voices Kim Coleman Foote crafts; she demonstrates incredible writing prowess in Coleman Hill. Sorry to hear Daughter was a miss for you (I raced through it, completely absorbed, as it was painfully relatable). Our views differ on A History of Burning, but that's the fun of books! And oh wow did I love Brotherless Night! I'm so glad you loved it too. ☺

Thank you for taking us through these novels! Several have been on my radar, but I'm most excited about Birnam Wood!

Ooh very intrigued! The Secret History is the perfect dark academia book mostly because its hailed as the foundational text of that subgenre! Other books have been argued as well but thats mostly accepted as the first novel!
