I noticed to go into BYOM, you had to enable device mode. I'm not familiar with Poly systems, but what exactly is that? I use Rally Bar's, have you tested this functionality on a Rally Bar to know if it works the same way? I'm looking to put one of these in my Rally Bar rooms, but I need to ensure I can just do wireless sharing if my room is already in a meeting, and then could take over BYOM if the room system is not in a meeting.

Hi @collaborationblog, Poly Device Mode enables you to use the system's camera, speaker, microphone, and connected monitors from your computer. Once you connect the system to your computer with a USB cable, you can control the video system's camera and audio features using your computer's third-party conferencing application 👍

Actually quite useful! Two products that I am actually looking in to and to see them compared is great. I think the neat bar performed some of the tracking, a little bit smoother and perhaps a little bit quicker. But the Poly does seem to work really nice when speaker tracking is enabled and you’ve maybe got four people around the table. It’s quite nice that it slowly moves from one person zooming out to show everybody, then zooming into the other person that talks and then zooming out again.

@ISDMsolutions Жыл бұрын
Hi K0stiss , unfortunately not - to increase the capacity of the Studio USB microphones, its encouraged to use the Studio USB Expansion microphone with optional extension cable. The latest firmware has intelligent swapping capabilities between the table mic and bar mic depending on who's talking in the room. You can link any of the sync units to an MTR pc wirelessly however ( via bluetooth) - this is recommended to purchase the + version though to get the USB dongle and have all control elements available on the Sync unit.

@jeylampard5895 Жыл бұрын
Indeed as Brian mentions. The built in mics are only used to locate users talking in the room to assist the "speaker-track" mode. The mics are not used to send any audio in the call. This is just the same as the long standing Cisco quad camera technology.

Hi Vincent, it's not on the official MS roadmap as of yet, although we've had it implied by some manufacturers that it's currently being worked on. The issue is that the devices don't have anywhere to store the background, which means MS have to find somewhere to store it in the cloud.
