Great job. Great video. Its very cool you have trailcam video of your target animals and got a couple of them. I hope you set them snares and get the rest of them. Good luck.

Question from a none trapper, why did you role that Beaver in the snow? Love you videos

The snow soaks up about 90% of the water leaving the beaver a lot nicer to manage

I like how methodical you are . The boys and I are going to prep all summer next year and will be ready to hang snares as soon as the bears go to sleep. I have a question for you-- in addition to the 5/64 cable, toothed cam locks and magnum kill springs-- what do you thnk about making our snares even more lethal by inserting a length of say 8 inches of even thinner cable like 1/16 or 3/64 right at the lock so that the cable that is actually closing off the blood and oxygen is super thin? Any thoughts?
@thefurwiz7 ай бұрын
I see what you're saying, though I've never heard of that before. Because of the difference between the two cables and however you might connect them they would probably hang weird although it's a cool thought. I've never had a problem with 5/64 cable doing the trick except once a long time ago and I suspect that it was caught really far back
@barryjsamson7 ай бұрын
@@thefurwiz thanks for the reply. I know that it will have an impact on snare shape but I think I am going to try it anyways. Dead wolves do not chew cable and we have had excellent success with 1/16 cable on wolves as long as they were tied low to the ground. I like the idea of 5/64 to handle the abuse of twisting and entanglement abraision and I like the idea of a thinner cable turning the lights off. We will experiment next fall and I will get back to you if I think the idea still has merit. Thanks again and good luck this winter. Looking forward to your next videos.

Another nice video. You probably know this but I am new to your channel. If you always make sure to carry your wolves out rather than drag them the others in the pack will continue to come back and hit the bait and/or check where an alpha was trapped. You can usually tell if it's an alpha by all the butt marks of them sitting in the snow around them or laying. If you can't remember where all your snares are or you set a lot of snares in the bush, you can blaze (remove a little bark by slashing the tree) the trees from snare to snare with your machete or ax since wolves will shy away from trail tape. You make nice videos - my only suggestion is to show us their teeth and the size of their paws compared to your hands including the wolverines n coyotes 😃 Happy trails
