..That's a good plan you have for the wolverine. Also somebody suggested putting a foot hold by that deer. That could work.

Put a wolf trap in front of your wolverine set

If that wolverine comes one more time to the deer I would set a few short heavy snares around the deer. Make sure you have at least one ( two would be better ) swivel point in the snare since they like to role and jump around. I definitely would not set any foot hold traps. You would have a good chance of catching a non targeted animal or end up having the trap exposed by birds or something.
