There's nothing better to make you feel good than being out in nature surrounded by all the plants you've nurtured, cared for and watched grow. The food you've grown always seems to taste that much nicer and the flowers you've grown give you the feel good factor. I love either being in my garden at home or on the allotment on a warm sunny day enjoying a cuppa and natter with family and friends as well as having a potter, sowing and planting.
If you are following my journey then maybe we'll discover a few new things together or you'll be able to give me some advice as I consider myself to be a keen novice gardener and always open to learning.

I loved the tour of Cheryl’s plot. Lovely to see it. Thank you Linda and Cheryl for letting us see it. I love the idea of mixing the beds up but I’m still a sucker for blocks of planting. My brain just works that way. Trying to get better. 😂 Great tip for the basil! Lovely video, as always. ❤
Thanks Clare ❤️ Doug likes planting in blocks too as it's easier with netting up things etc. so I well understand your thinking. Your plot looks amazing too and lovely and tidy. I'm so lucky to be next to such a pretty plot. I noticed the other day that I'd forgotten to look at the mountain behind as I am too busy looking at Cheryl's plot. 😂 Have a fabulous weekend 🤗❤️ xxx
One of those round tuit jobs 😂😂😂 Broad beans look amazing and so do those blackcurrants. Took me ages to harvest ours as it’s a bush, think I need to tie to supports to fan the branches out. Ooh I like those zip nets, heads off to Amazon 😂😂 Thank you for the tour of Cheryl’s plot, beautiful ❤ Got a date with some sick tomatoes then a garden centre, so take care, keep smiling ❤ Big hugs Allie & Tricia 😊
Awww thanks Allie and Tricia ❤️ Hope you had a lovely time at the garden centre and bought lots of plants 👍😂 I have lots of when I get around to it jobs 😂 I realised while I was having a cuppa the other day that I seem to have forgotten about the mountain view....... I keep admiring Cheryl's plot instead 😂. Hope you've both had a great weekend ❤️
@@Feelgoodgardens bought Leo a fairy water fountain and we got 3 plants 🪴 😋oh and the obligatory lunch in there 🤣
@@therightpearplot Allie and Trish, sounds like a very productive day out 👍😍😂 x
Really enjoyed this update. Love your chatty style. I learned a tip about picking blackcurrants from a Plot friend. Use a fork to put behind the blackcurrant sprig and pull it forward and it removes up to a dozen at a time straight into your bowl without squashing them!
Awww thanks Linda for your kind words ❤️ Doug mentioned about the fork method but I was concerned about stripping the leaves off as well. I should have tried it. I bet it would have been a lot quicker than the way we did it 🤭😂

Electroculture
Cheryl's potager is beautiful. I have a mix on my plot. Some beds are mixed with flowers/veg others are just flowers and others just veg. It depends what I'm growing. I have a whole bed of just cutt flowers and opposite it a bed of flowers, edible flowers and courgettes. I have marigolds planted with tomatoes and pumpkins, beans and climbing spinach on my pergola. The plot is looking quite colourful, but I do tend to grow my brassicas on their own as I like to keep them netted. At home I have sweet peas growing with purple podded snap peas and french beans. As I said a bit of both types of growing. Happy gardening 🙂 x
@@bewoodford2807 Your garden sounds really lovely Be 🌻❤️ I'm loving this way of planting but as you say it's difficult with brassicas that you need to net up to make sure they don't get eaten by predators. Hope you're having a great week 🌻❤️
My basil went to seed and they drop but I haven’t transplant them as yet I just love to smell them in the garden, beautiful looking garden flowers and veggies nice 👍 ❤
Thank you 😊 Yes the smell of basil is lovely isn't it and goes great with tomatoes 🍅. I think it was too cold to germinate all my seeds when I sowed them but bet they germinate great in this weather Bet you had lots of plants from the seed 👍😁❤️
Hi Linda are you useing electroculture. Copper wire antennas place in and around the flours ??
No I've never tried electro culture, have you? I've heard of it but have yet to try it. Looks interesting though 👍😊
@@Feelgoodgardens yes I use it at my allotment and have had 100% improve ment on growth compared to the veg that I left to one side. Also I place the antennas in the centre of beds and saw the difference in size to the ends Yes. Try it and see my friend
@@Feelgoodgardens another good tip. Is the sizes of the antennas can vary also the placing should be south of you patch grow. Hope you get some amazing results. Mark
@@Feelgoodgardens
@@morecambeanglersandtrawler1074 Sounds like I need to look into it a bit more. Thanks Mark 👍😊
I love Cheryl's plot too! Little bit of this, little bit of that...
It's great isn't it Robin. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's certainly mine as you can tell 👍😁 😂 Have a great week 🌻🌹🌱❤️
Awesome ❤❤❤
Thank you 🌻🌱❤️
Your plots all look fantastic took your tip for taking erysimum cuttings they all rooted and I've filled up a bed for next spring.🌻🌻🌻x
Awww thank you so much Joanne. ❤️ I'm so pleased that your erysimum cuttings grew well for you. Your flower bed is going to look gorgeous as they seem to flower all summer. Have a great week 🌻🌹🌱❤️
Really lovely video thank you. I love Permaculture gardening I try to implement more of it each year. I think it definitely helps with pest and disease although with the biblical rain we’re having in the south it’s a wonder anything is surviving.
Awww thank you so much. ❤️ Yes rain horrendous but looking on the bright side it's saving us hours of watering. Mind you those slugs and weeds love it! 🙄 Let's hope for some nice sunshine this week so we can weed and find those slugs hiding 😂 I'm loving this permaculture gardening and like you would love to do more of it. It's great that I have Cheryl on the plot next to me for inspiration. 👍😍 Have a great week 🌻🌹🌱❤️
Hi were new to your channel and recently taken on an allotment so we are looking forward to hearing your tips were also vlogging our process looks forward to seeing more :)
Hi and Welcome aboard! 👍🌻🌱❤️ Good luck with your new allotment. Always a challenge taking over a new allotment unless you are very lucky. Our second plot was full of bindweed but we did find some hidden gems. Took over our second plot last November and if you look back on my videos you can see all the challenges and triumphs we've had. We took on our first Feel Good Garden allotment last June. It's great to look back and see how far you've come isn't it. My first vlog went live October 27th so I wish you every success with your family vlog. 🌻🌱❤️
@@Feelgoodgardens thank you so much yeah we also have a lot of bind weed and mares tail so a lot to tackle but were looking forward to it i will check out the vlogs you have mentioned
I really enjoyed seeing Cheryl's plot Linda. It's definitely my cup of tea! Id love to achieve more of a permaculture design on my plot - I have the ethos just find it difficult to execute! Hope the leeks are ok now they're in the ground.
Isn't it fab Kerry 👍😍 Cheryl always inspires me, could do with doing more of it on our plot too! Leeks are coming along nicely, thanks. Have a great week 🌻 😀 ❤ x
😋Black currants taste so good. Didn't harvest as much as I used to this year, probably because last year I needed to cut out more branches than I use to do. Cheryl's mixing flowers and veggies makes it playful and beautiful, just like yours.🏵 🐝🍅🐝 You have sweet neighbors to exchange ideas and plants with 💡 🌿💡🌱and a☕🧁 👍Taking cuttings from basil is easy and so rewarding🌱🌱🌿🌿 Thank you for the inspirations🌻🌻🌻🌻
Awww thank you so much, that's such lovely feedback ❤ Sounds like your blackcurrant bush needed a good pruning. Hopefully you'll have s bumper crop next year. That's the best crop we've ever had, fingers crossed next year's will be too. Have a great week ☘️🌻🌹🌻🌱
If you save some of the basil seeds , they would grow very well next year x
I'll certainly bear that in mind thank you 👍😀 ❤️ I think it was too cold for the seeds when I sowed them so need to sow them later next year or start on our windowsill. x
Wow Cheryl does have a gorgeous allotment and the calendula is stunning. Sad even with all those flowers doesn’t look like a lot of bees 🐝. We have very few bees here it’s been just too hot for the poor things. Thank you for taking us around her allotment it’s wonderful. Have a fantastic week ahead Linda, Ali 🥵🌞🇨🇦
Hi Ali 👋❤️ I can't tell you enough how much I love Cheryl's plot, ooops I did didn't I 🤭😂 We had quite a few bees earlier on when the weather was nice but sadly not so many at the moment. The cabbage white butterflies are around though 😏 Have a great week 🌻🌹❤️
Hi Linda, lovely update as usual. Your bed certainly looked better after you gave it that mulch. We all have to dig occasionally 😊 Your flowers are looking lovely. I hope all is well? I thought your voice sounded like you were a little under the weather? Take care 😍
Hi Bethan 👋❤️ Thanks for your lovely feedback 👍😍 I was absolutely fine honestly 😊 I didn't realise that I came across otherwise, ooops 🤭 Hope all is good with you. Gave a great week 🌻 🌹 ❤️ xx
So many blackcurrants 😍 Cheryl's plot is beautiful 💚 buying basil and replanting them is a great value 🥰
Hi Maiju 👋🤗 We were really pleased with our blackcurrant harvest. We did that with the Basil last year and grew it amongst the tomatoes in the polytunnel. It worked really well. Doug's looking after most plants in the polytunnel this year and has strolch around halos in the polytunnel so not sure if I'm allowed to plant them straight in there this year as might make it look untidy 😊😂 Mind you I didn't think of asking him either 🤭 I love Cheryl's plot as I mentioned 🤭😍and she's such a lovely lady. She often has a cuppa with us too. Have a great week 🌻 🌹 ❤️
I'm with Doug I like regimental still got flowers but yours and Cheryl's plots are looking lovely , lovely harvest of blackcurrant , have you tried lemon sage it's a verigated plant really nice in stuffing and lemon thyme gorgeous together in stuffing 👍 I do that with the basil Mankie is a good word to describe them 😂 lovely video enjoyed 👍
Awww thank you for your lovely feedback Elizabeth ❤️ We must try lemon sage and lemon thyme both sound really nice. I'll certainly be looking out for either plants or seeds. Thanks for the tip much appreciated 👍❤️
The gardens look so amazing 🐝thanks for the great video🌻
Awww thank you so much Sandra 😊 Have a great week 🌻❤️
Those leek flowers are stunning. The bees love them, don't they? The sage is beautiful.
I think I need to grow extra leeks next year just so that I can let some flower 🤭😂 Win win as I'm going to have plenty of leek seeds after they flower 😂 Do you want some? I have new sage cuttings so they'll need potting on in a few weeks if you want any 😀 x
Both your plots are beautiful Linda and very inspiring .Ill be adding more flowers next year 🌻🙂
Thank you Susie 🙂❤️ Yes grow more flowers, you'll love your garden or allotment even more. Not too late to sow or plant some now! 👍🤭
Wow, your blackcurrant harvest is brilliant. I noticed your broadbeans today. They are amazing Linda. Xx
Thanks Cheryl ❤️ xx
Thanks for sharing our plot, Linda. ❤ thank you ❤
My pleasure Cheryl as it's so lovely 😍 Thank you for allowing me to share it with my viewers 👍❤️
Thank you for sharing your video. That's a lot of blackcurrants. And Sheryl and Dale's plot is interesting and blooming lovely. 🌼 🌸
Hi Sheryl 👋 and thank you ❤️ You are lucky too as you are able to see Cheryl's allotment live 👍😍
Can u get any herb from shop and re plant
Hi Wendy 👋 That's a good question. I don't see why not. I grew my parsley from seed so didn't need to buy any but I'm sure that would work well too with any herb. Have a great week 🌻 ❤️
Mixture of veg's, flowers and fruit are doing lovely up here too. So nice you have neighbours with whom you can talk about gardening 😍
Hello Linda,of all the Currants black Currants are definitely my favourite and my eyes were on stalks when l seen your FANTASTIC.Let me know your recipe for Sage stuffing as its something we really love eating.Another lovely video but they alwways are 💐💞
Awww thank you so much Joyce, that's lovely feedback ❤️ I was really pleased how well the blackcurrants did this year especially since they were only dug up and planted at the beginning of the year. Doug makes the stuffing so I'll ask him for you. I must say it's always very nice 👍😍 Have a great week 🌻❤️
Awww thank you so much for your lovely feedback Joyce.❤️ I was really pleased with the blackcurrants especially since they were only dug up and replanted at the beginning of the year. Doug usually makes the stuffing so I'll ask him for you 👍🌻😍
Lovely update Linda. That sage looked really good! Cheryls plot is a real inspiration! Danny
Thanks Danny ❤️ All my sage plants are from cuttings I took the end of last year from our front garden sage plant.. The one on plot 2 is growing best of all. Doug's been hacking the ones I potted up when he makes stuffing. I'm hoping they'll all bush out now that I've rescued them 😂 I picked some for stuffing from the front garden for him yesterday so that he didn't resort to hacking my prize sage plant 😂 I cut the one in the front garden back a few weeks ago and have made more cuttings. You can't have too many sage plants 👍😂 Cheryl's plot is fabulous isn't it, I love her way of planting 🌱😍
Hi Linda, lovely plot update, love this time of year, lots to do. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Hi Christine 👋 Thank you 😊. Yes loads to do isn't there but we'll get there in some shape or form 👍😀 Have a great week 🌻❤️
I like that you reuse containers🌻🌻👍💚👍🌻🌻
I have the recycling bug 😂 The cake containers usually work quite well and they are nice and deep too. Ideal for starting off sunflowers etc. 👍🌻🌻🌻😁
Hi again Linda ☺, if you chop the chives back they will get a second flush later in the summer. Sending love, light and Summer blessings 🌺🌾🌻 xx.
Hi Veronica 👋 I've cut them back already as they were looking scraggy and noticed a couple of new flowers growing. Thank you though, I appreciate your feedback very much 👍❤️
Great tips. My sunflowers have begun to shoot up now. I might be in the race after all. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hi Robin 👋🤗 That's fabulous news about your sunflowers 🌻🌻🌻 Can't wait to see all the photos of them later on. I'll give out an email address later on and post as many as possible either on a video, my website or both. Have a great week ❤️
my elephant leek did the same they where stiil lovely i prefer the titus leek was fatter <3
That's great Shell 👍 I'll look out for Titus leeks, the sound good 👍😀
hey linda i really love that simple cardboard weed cover then compost i will be doing that with a couple of boarders when the new fence is finshed , spot on tip that!!!
Hi Shell 👋 It's the trendy gardening thing to do these days 😊 it's much kinder to the soil too as it doesn't disturb the beneficial living things underneath the soil such as worms etc Cardboard can be collected free from shopping stores and businesses and I save my own delivery boxes too. If I don't use them for no dig then I use them ripped up as ,"browns," on the compost heap. Happy gardening 🌻❤️🌻
@@Feelgoodgardens 💚 YOU TOO X
some lovely tips there linda. Im sure people will benefit from you sharing them. Danny
Thanks Danny ❤️ Probably not you as you don't recycle your cake containers like me 😂 Have a great week gardening and hope to see you at the Feel Good Garden Café soon 🤭☕☕☕😂
Im always happy to empty the cake containers linda. Haha oh.. i heard the cafe had closed down, due to lack of staff 😂@Feelgoodgardens
@TheGrowUpChannel 😂😂😂 Back open when it's a nice sunny day 😁🌻 Staff taking time off duty at the moment 🤭😂
No dig means no double digging . If you didn’t dig at all you wouldn’t grow much.
@@MarianWalsh-vz9fy Thanks for the clarification Marian 👍 I didn't double dig so still no dig gardening phew! 😊 😂 Have a great week 🌻🌹

I just devide chives up and they bush out in 2 seasons, grow like grasses, quite easy, Im growing in Iceland 6b😊
Yes that's a good easy way 👍😊The ones at the allotment were divided last year. I'm going to sow some seeds this year too 😀
Oh I need to plant my goji, it’s looking pretty sad in its bucket. It’s never produced any berries. Does it like full sun?? Couldn’t wait till tomorrow so watching till I go to sleep. I’ve just planted some aqualegia lime coloured one. Was sitting in pots for the longest time. So they self seed? 😂😂 they can join the calendula that have multiplied by the hundred😂😂 Your onions look amazing, so lush and green. Homegrown garlic taste amazing whatever their size. Love your harvesting and getting the beds filled back up. Still no dig!! I dug spuds out. Just means we don’t dig and turn over the soil, to incorporate additions. Just adding on top each time. We thought we’d lost 4-5 fuchsias by over wintering them. They are all coming good now ❤ I didn’t know that about chives, will be chopping the heads off ours too now. Love the broadbeans with the red/pink flowers. Will definitely be looking for some of those for overwintering. Great update, keep smiling, sowing & growing. Hugs Allie & Tricia xxx❤
Hi Linda enjoy your gardening today the transplant, the no dig bed, the trimming of the plants, and sowing of seeds great job ❤
Thanks so much ❤️ Always plenty to do in the garden and at the allotment, never ending but I love it 😀
I love aqualigia or columbine as we call it, there are so many varieties. Funny enough mine did quite poorly in the bed but like you I have bits popping up all over 😂. Insane with so much rain that your ground is cracking ours does that come August. It’s stupid hot here as I type it’s 35c at 3:30 pm 🥵. Onions look fab 👍. You work so hard and it shows in the harvests. Fab job again, have a wonderful week, Ali 🥵🌞🫠🇨🇦
Thanks Ali ❤️ We had a few dry hot weeks and now the rain is back again so I bet the cracks have healed now 🤭😂 We used to call Aquilegia, Granny's Bonnets when I was a little girl and I remember that with fondness as my great Aunty Minnie used to grow lots of them in her back garden. Have a fabulous week 🌻😍🌻
