Upper Fork Creek?
This is the upper portion of the forked creek. I missed saying, talking to fast, "of the".
Awesome!! What flies were you guys throwing??
Thank you! In this video, where the highlights come from, about one minute and six seconds into the video I show all the flies I used. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qmWn19eih9vPnZM.html The ones that caught for me were the Tailwater Titan, Prism Torch, OP Prism Torch, the Olive Nymph, and on the dry was the small mayfly.
That’s a fun creek. Nice bows. Good day Andrew.
It must of been the middle of the week to be getting all them good runs!!
I believe you are correct, trying to remember for sure, but I believe this was a Thursday
Great day out there, looked to be a good call. You got me excited for what's to come, I'm still messing around in Stillwater. It's interesting that we all see colors a bit differently. I need to play around more with indicator colors, because that low light situation always messes with me.
Nice going Andrew! Nothing but rainbows. nice to see what you're using! thanks!
Hard to fish in the bushes. Nice job finding water not crazy fast and muddy
Nice video Andrew! I should explore lower down on that water!
Well done on the cinematography. Plus bomb fly for that stream. New subscriber. FISH ON!
That's a nice creek Andrew no mercy to the rainbows . 😅
Now how come this isn’t also at 2500 cfs? 😅 well done!
Thanks for sharing the set up info.
Great job Andrew. You did better than anyone I’ve seen on the Green this year. Don’t miss the best fishing. Tie up a seven inch luminescent minnow and fish it into the night.
Thank you! It's good to know this was an even better time than I thought from your compliment! I'll have to make sure next sure we look into that minnow and try it out.
Great looking bug. It worked well on the Green.
A master at his craft! Nice looking fly and Very Productive as well.
Thanks Kevin!
Thank you. Andrew, is that brahma hen? have you found a good site to purchase brahma hen soft hackle?
Yes, this is Brahma hen hackle. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find anyone with this particular style of hackle. I spoke with a Fly Shop in California who had Olive and Orange, but not the March Brown and they said they hadn't seen these in stock for over a year. I use a Whiting Farms soft hackle now that is similar looking to Brahma Hen.
This is the style I used now or close to this: www.flyfishfood.com/products/whiting-red-label-hen-cape
Looks awesome! Going there in July for the first time!
Definitely worth the trip! One of the best waters in Utah to fish.
You ever tried that one in strawberry . Pretty nice looking fly
I have not tried it yet. The Green River was the first time trying this fly out. I’ll be trying it on other bodies of water also.
Thanks. That was the one.
Epic trip on the Green. Thanks for taking us along Andrew.
Thanks Stacy! It indeed was an epic few days of fishing!
I think I might have seen you guys. Were you there this weekend?
This was at the end of April. If you were there at the end of April then if you think you saw us, it was us. Thanks for watching!
Always fun videos Andrew! Makes me wanna get back to the Green after the flows go back down. Did you hike or boat to the B section?
Thanks Joe, we hiked. We parked at little hole and probably walked a mile down. I want to walk/hike further next time, but we will see.
Any dry fly action going on? We'll be there in July
Yes, there was great BWO action the whole time we were there. It was in specific places, not through the whole river though. If you find them rising for the dry it was awesome! There should be some ant action right now, and in July you should see hoppers for sure.
Killer trip! 🔥
Indeed it was!
wow you put on a clinic. Good job Andrew! If I remember right Last year you floated the green? I have never fished the Green.
Thanks Kevin! I can't complain with how good these days were for sure! Thanks for watching and the continued support! You need to fish the Green my friend!
Don’t know why so many shoot videos for KZread and show only catching fish and never talk about their system or flies used. Really good video subscribing.
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the constructive information. This is great advice and I'll seek to do it within my next videos. In part, I feel like my talking takes away from the video, but I'll see how I can talk about my system more. I did show flies, but I'll see if I can explain why I like these flies.
Great video. I love how you share where you are and flies you’re using. What time of year was this and did you just park at the public ramps and walk from there?
Thank you! Glad to hear you like this method. This was actually the last weekend in April 2024. We were fortunately able to get there right in the middle of a BWO hatch, and this time I actually had flies they were interested in.
I didn't read slowly enough to specify where I parked. I parked at Little Hole and the first day went down river on Section B. Next day parked at little hole and walked 2 miles up before we started fishing. Third day, near the dam and walked downstream and then fished up.
Those are some beautiful slabs of golden brown!!
They definitely were my friend! You need to come with me here one of these times!
Andrew the last one you take it was beautiful it was big the river remind me south of my country excellent video 18K OF GOLD brown trout
Thank you! This river is 18K Gold for sure, and the Browns match it. Thanks for the continued support.
When is the next fly tying tutorial? :)
That is a great question, was there a fly in particular from the video?
@@familyflyties3913 The new experimental fly that was catching all the fish. :)
@@markdewaal3782 - I’ll make a video of that for my next upload then.
Here is the experimental nymph that was catching the fish. I'll do one of the dry flies that were working also on the BWO hatch. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZayFutVuaMS2laQ.html
@@familyflyties3913 I saw it. Thanks.
Beautiful browns! The Green never gets old.
That’s true! It never gets old! Ready to go again for sure!
Cool video Andrew I wonder where you been strawberry getting good do you need to go up there and cast monsters. Beautiful footage of the brown trout 18K off gold
I haven’t been able to go out much for video, and the places I have gone I don’t video. I’ll definitely check out Strawberry reservoir then!
I'm confused on what to replace the tapered leader with I'm just getting into fly fishing
My apologies for the confusion. That's awesome you are just getting into fly fishing! It's definitely worth getting into. With Euro nymphing they have what is called "siter" and the siter I'm currently using is "Cortland Indicator Mono". In this video I'm using 13 lbs siter. I have moved to 7 lbs siter for better control fishing further out. I attach the siter with a perfection loop 1-2 feet longer than my rod length. I have a 9' rod so my siter is 10-11 feet. At the end of the siter I attach a tippet ring and then tippet for my flies. This way I can use an indicator still for waters I find better to indicator fly fish, and then waters that are better for euro nymphing I simply remove the indicator and then tight line. Ask any other questions you may have.
Great video from start to finish! I love how when you catch the fish you show the little video of the fly. Great job!
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment. My next video will be another Green river trip. Hope you stop by and watch it!
@@familyflyties3913 you got it bud! I sure will! Enjoy these Utah videos very much.
Some fine specimens Andrew. Nice and relaxing to watch you work the river. Tight Lines!
Thanks Stacy! Much appreciated!
You always do good out there, another great video with some awesome browns on the beautiful clear river! Nice little rainbow and an awesome adventure, we need to get back on the river soon!
Thanks! I've definitely had many good days. Yes, get out on the river for sure. Thanks for watching!
As always Andrew Nice video! Both you and Trent landed some great Brown Trout!
It was definitely a good day. I definitely can't complain. We need to collab on a video! :)
Nice video. That is a great river you are fishing.
Thank you! This is definitely a great river to fish for sure!
I didn't get out much this winter, but watching your videos brought me out there with you. Hopefully, we will get a break in this weather and runoff.
That’s the hope for sure. I didn’t get out much either. Good weather was during the week.
Hope you're doing well Andrew!
I'm doing well enough to still go fishing! :) Unfortunately, this winter weekends ended up being the worst weather so I didn't make it much out this winter like I was hoping to do.
all i ever catch is browns
In this area I used to only catch Browns, but now with the increase in water level from DC the Rainbows are coming up from DC. I'm catching more Bows now in this area than Browns.
It is illegal to fly a drone in the canyon. Please remove.
great video thank so cool
Love the video! And the provo! Where was it you fished by on the lower? You said where you fished in the middle but not the lower
Nice day on the river. That stretch of ripples produced some nice-sized browns. I have fished that lower section many times. You found some good specimens. Good to a rainbow. Fun video Andrew.
It was definitely a great day on the river for sure. I was also pleasantly surprised by the size of fish caught in that section. Thank you Stacy!
Where are you fishing? Looks like an arid landscape.
Great question Kevin, and thanks for watching my video. This is one river I don't share publicly.
I love Utah fishing. Maybe the best in the lower 48. Looks like you know your way around a Euro rod, nice work!
That awesome! Utah definitely offers some great rivers for fly fishing. Thanks for the compliment! I'm still learning how to properly euro. I definitely have some aspects down but still feel very new to it.
Beautiful day and nice big browns
True, very true. Although it started out slow I can't complain!
Be-UTAH-ful Browns Andrew‼️Great trip 👍
Thank you! It was indeed a great trip for sure!
