Same of the same stuff…the only people who think that USMNT is good are USMNT fans. This is not a very good team that gets the odd good result. These two commentators are fans…nauseating! They talk like USMNT just won the WC!!

Great comment about the U.S. treating Brazil's midfield like mid-table midfielders. I think Brazil's midfielders are excellent, but I agree that they should treat them with not too much respect as our midfielders are good as well.

As a big Indy Eleven fan, this whole process has been very frustrating. The Indy Eleven were founded with the intention of building a club with a strong grassroots foundation into a club that would vie for an MLS expansion bid. Joining the MLS has been in the plans for the Indy Eleven since the beginning. They have applied for MLS expansion twice and been denied twice, mostly due to not having a soccer-specific stadium that can hold 20,000+ people. This stadium project was supposed to check that box. However, Indianapolis Mayor, Joe Hogsett, has claimed a lot of different reasons why he stopped supporting the Indy Eleven stadium project, Eleven Park. All of his objections are red herrings or straw man arguments; let's go through the most popular statements that the Mayor has made: 1.) The Mayor has claimed to be against building the site due to human remains found at the site. - - It''s been known to everyone for years before the project started that site is an old cemetery. The company in charge of the construction has followed all laws and worked with several organizations to make sure human remains are handled with care and respect. They have/had a plan for reinturnment. 2.) The Mayor claims that he never expressed support for the project. - - At the *very* least, he was at the ground breaking ceremony with an Indy Eleven scarf around his neck, gave a speech, and was all smiles for the press. 3.) The Mayor has claimed that he doesn't think the ownership group has the money to front their portion of the stadium. - - The ownership group has access to billions of capital, and did so even before Indiana billionare Chuck Surack recently joined the ownership group. 4.) The Mayor has recently claimed that he believes the project would put undue stress on the taxpayer. - - The stadium was to be 20% funded up front by the ownership group. The remaining 80% was to be paid for by bonds. These bonds were to be repaid over a certain amount of time by taxes generated with a special tax district within a one mile radius of the project. If I remember right, the club was on the hook for the rest of the payment if it wasn't paid back in a certain amount of years. Hogsett announced his secret New York trip to talk to the MLS commissioner and his own stadium plan on the 11th birthday of the Indy Eleven, which included moving the special taxing district to his new, preferred spot, that of the Indianapolis Downtown Heliport. He claims to have the backing of a new ownership group that he refuses to reveal even now. He presented a false choice to the Indianapolis City-County Council: "Approve the tax district around my plan, or the MLS will never come here." Recently, the City-County Council has indeed passed the tax district around the Mayor's preferred site. To sum up: the Mayor walked away from the project after his secret meeting with the MLS commissioner and won't articulate legitimate reasons for doing so. This leads a lot of people to believe that believe that the MLS is indeed intending to move into the Indianapolis market and crush their strong USL competition clubs out of existance as they have the past two years. What's interesting is that the MLS has made no public comment about any intention of moving into the Indianapolis market and the Mayor has admitted that there's no promise that the MLS will actually come here. So the mayor has blown up years-long plans to build a team that could eventually gain an MLS bid, for a hope and a prayer. Here's the kicker though: If a new MLS team does come here, I'm not sure how successful it will be. Trough the good years and the bad, the Indy Eleven consistently pull an average of 7k - 9k attendance in a 10,000 max seat stadium. They're consistently in the top 3 for attendance in the USL. And in 2017, when they played in Lucas Oil Stadium (Where the Colts play), they had an average attendance of over 17k. That shows that people are dedicated to the club. I'm not sure how many people will actually go over if the new club is built. The Indy Eleven supporters group, the Brickyard Battalion, has stated that Indy Eleven is the only team for them, and I agree. So let's say you have at least 5k - 6k people that won't go on principle. That's not a good look for a brand-new MLS franchise who's trying to find their footing.

If we look at a tie against a Brazil that has been struggling as of late a satisfying result, then that’s fine. However that is pretty much just sitting down and saying “yeah, that’s the best we can do against top teams”. That’s us a region practically admitting defeat and saying we are no longer here to win. Just to survive. Which is NOT enough to win Copa. The USMNT NEEDS to step it up even more to stand a chance against an incredibly scary looking Colombia, Uruguay, and Argentina. This is a good START. But it’s not enough. They still have a way to go.

The gap in the result could have been even larger but clearly Uruguay slowed down its machine after scoring the 4th goal since it's a team that doesn't like to brag and also administrates its energy and effort as required. Also, jornalism worldwide usually makes the mistake of deeming the Uruguayan team as underdogs, disregarding its history and the the level of its players from a country with a population vearly above 3 million people. Ask Argentians or Brasilians which team they would prefer not the play against, and the answer will most likely be Uruguay.

Concacaf teams are forgetting this is a very unique opportunity to play Copa America, which normally would be only by invitation. They are most likely to put the region in shame. 4 -0, 5-1 for Mexico and USA shows just how far concacaf is compared to Conmebol.
