I love your reaction. What a final episode. I cried the first time I read it in the light novel. They adapted the scenes very good . And the voice acting was amazing especially norn VA . If you can I recommend reading the light novel from the beginning till where season 2 ends which ends in the end of volume 12 . Because the studio skipped a lot from season 1 as season 2 . The novel is way better than the anime even season 1 content. Even the manga did the university arc and the first episodes of season 2 better than the anime. For me season 2 content as a novel was better than the content from season 1 ( which is actually the weakest part from the novel ) and next season will be the best if they do it justice.

Cool to know at least the novel made you shed tears for the content of this episode. Norn's va knocked it out of the park for sure. Glad to know they did a good job adapting it this week. I got no idea which site is good to read the light novel tho, but I'd be interested in reading what the anime has covered. So the possibility of me actually doing it is small since I'm peculiar about reading novels, my preferred way is ofc physical but I ain't got the money to buy the volumes rn. I'll try to check the manga out. Thank you for being a constant presence through my MT S2 cour 2 reactions, I appreciated it!

Ooh, a mother-daughter relationship is something I had not considered at all. The Lady in the portrait is the same girl singing in Ado's song Gira Gira (both song lyrics were written by the same guy). I've always seen it as a lesbian song. The girl in this song is morning and missing the girl in Gira Gira. I know a lot of people see the religious imagery as a sort of representation of religious disapproval of gay relationships. We know from Gira Gira that the long haired girl thinks very poorly of herself and some people think that maybe she killed herself, which is why she is not here anymore (that imagery of her being taken away by angel looking things does seem to represent death at least). Sorry if all this rambling doesn't make sense, I just really, REALLY love Ado, and this song is my favorite of hers lol. I'm so glad you liked it!

  • @oddsamurai1
    @oddsamurai1Күн бұрын

Well the mother-daughter relationship speculation was before I knew this was at all connected to another song. They're never shown together so its hard to be sure but I thought of it because the girl here looked young and after watching Gira Gira she still looks pretty young in comparison. The religious imagery does make more sense if you see it as them having a romantic relationship tho, and the lyrics do mention having fallen for someone. I just find it more depressing to think she killed herself because the world didn't accept their relationship, that feels so real. At the end of the day, anyone can have any theory and it can be right as long as Ado doesn't say otherwise I guess. I don't mind the rambling, it really transmits your love for what you're talking about!

*"Aitakute (piano and strings version)"* (I want to see you ...) was also requested by @jangjangjangjong who had requested to *"Eien no akuruhi"* in the reaction to *"DIGNITY"* , which caused this reaction to *"Gira Gira"* as the result. I heard it a while ago. The song sounds like a *beautiful teenage love song* and it is an insert song of the anime movie "Kaguya-sama wa kokurasetai (Kaguya-sama wants to let him confess his love to her)". It does not have a *"too strong poisons"* as Gira Gira. The requested _"piano and strings version"_ *does not have **_subtitles_* and composed of only some almost-still pictures. The other version (maybe original by also ado) have subtitles and some animation. For reference if Ms. Odd Samurai decides to react it in the future, I wrote down this information that does not become a spoiler.

I don't know how people overseas feel about Japanese relationships and cultural differences, but I saw this movie first thing this morning at the movie theater and I couldn't stop crying. I myself once aspired to become a film director, but I failed. The film was filled with all the joys and pains of becoming a creator in Japan. And combined with my mourning for the tragic incident that occurred a few years ago, I couldn't stop crying. I pray that all creators and artists will be rewarded in any way possible.

The title of this song is "Gira Gira"(ギラギラ ), which in Japanese describes something shiny From the MV, you can see that the girl went through three stages In psychology, people understand themselves through others People can only see their own figures through mirrors So when girls are young, they constantly receive external shining things while also seeing their unique selves from the eyes of others And from the reactions of those people, she realized her own ugliness Lamenting the self created by God using non habitual hands Later on, the girl underwent a transformation and learned to disguise herself in front of others through makeup(armed), trying to cover up her ugly self But gradually, this process began to make the girl feel lonely and sad The girl asked herself, are you planning to live your life like this? Are you ready to start making changes? The girl exclaimed how easy life would have been if God had created herself with his habitual hands, and also realized that God, like herself, was an imperfect existence So the girl stopped pretending to be herself, no longer just looking at shiny things and feeling envious But learn to love herself and let her shine forward This song is a warning to people to learn to love themselves Not only referring to appearance, but also to the spiritual aspect, without caring about the eyes of others to live up to oneself Ado's singing style involves understanding the characters in the song and performing them accordingly Just like the origin of her name, let her voice be a supporting role to make the whole song glow So you can see (hear?) different Ado in different songs because she is playing different roles She performed so perfectly in this song Unfortunately, in reality, she is still unable to appear publicly due to issues such as her upbringing, sensitive personality, and so on Even though she has become so famous and even started hosting world concerts, she still often expresses on SNS that she cannot love herself FYI This song was released on Valentine's Day to tell all fans not to be afraid of being alone . Its sequel "Eien No Akuruhi" was released on the following year's White Valentine's Day as a return gift to tell fans:「 Even if you think you are alone, there may be someone who loves you silently」 ("White Valentine's Day" is a special holiday in Japan. men receive gifts from women on Valentine's Day are required to return White Valentine's Day gifts the following month out of courtesy.)

This song is probably about the feeling of *inferiority in appearance* , but I also think it's about the worries about the *GAP* between one's *inner self and the outer world* . Ado's songs often have themes like this. I think that people, not only in Japan, but also in the whole world, become aware of the *gap between the inside of themselves and the outside* , when they grow and recognize the world around them, and are thinking about what to do the gaps. It would be difficult to live if the gap remained large, but *if we made them completely the same* , there would be *no point in living* . I think most people are able to come to *feasible range* with it at some point, and then continue to make adjustments throughout their lives. The intense of feeling the gap differs greatly from person to person.

Thank you for your reaction to ado's "Gira Gira". *"Gira Gira"* is an *onomatopoeia* that expresses very strong glaring or shining state. Japanese is a language with many onomatopoeias. In addition to when an object really glares, it can also be used as a metaphor for the sparkle in your eyes when you are aiming at something. The other onomatopoeia *"Mera Mera"* in the song represents a fire burning intensely. In this case, the fire is intense, but it is not a large fire accompanied by strong wind. It might be a small fire and might not emit a very strong light, but it is a fire that is hot and cannot be extinguished easily. Therefore, if there is something that you do not have and other people have, you have a strong fire of desire as *"Mera Mera"* in your heart trying to get it. By the way, the onomatopoeia "Bou Bou" is used for a large, strong fire accompanied by strong wind. Another onomatopoeia *"Kira Kira"*, which is a silent voiced version of *"Gira Gira'"*, means *"Twincle Twincle"*. Voiced sounds have higher intensity. *"Dignity"* by ado begins with Chiisana(Tiny/Small) awa(bubble(s)) *kirari*(glisten and shine). *"kirari"* is a non-repeating form of *"Kira Kira"*. *"KIRA KIRA"* apears also in *"Mirror"* by Ado. Japanese is an interesting language.

Light novel readers are fuming that the anime turned Roxy into a rapist (WHICH IS NOT PART OF HER FLAWS) and literally cut the FOCUS of the chapter: Rudeus' grief. They cut a long monologue of Rudeus processing his emotions. Also, the Roxy part was supposed to be framed like a mistake. It wasn't supposed to be rape but both of them trying to save the other in a twisted way. Consent. This accidentmeans that he needs to tell his family that his father is dead, his arm is gone, his mother is mentally gone, and, oh yeah, look, another wife. That's literally the tension after this and idk what they'd do with it now. It is, by far, the worst adaptation of the series. The author also warned us readers in twitter beforehand that he was pressured to agree to do it like this. Studio Bind fucked up

So they cut the scene where Roxy , Elinalise, geese and Talhand were taking about Rudy and how to make him feel better because he was dying due to him not eating at all for days and geese brought that sex make men feel better and asked Elianlise that she should sleep with him but she declined because of Sylphie and clif . But Roxy asks her why and Elinalise told her about Sylphie and their child . Roxy obviously was shocked and feel horrible about how she was hitting on him the whole time . And she didn't pull Rudy into the bed Rudy acutely the one who pulled her into his lap and then she said they can do it so Rudy pushed her onto the bed and was rough with her and when he woke up he felt like he fucked up. And he even told Roxy about his past self like a fiction story . So when Rudy was depressed geese hired adventures and entered the dungeon again because there was a lot of treasure and crystals that would make everyone live for decades. About why Elinalise wanted Roxy happiness because she knew Roxy before Sylphie . And Rudy wouldn't have married Roxy until Elinalise said that she might be pregnant that Rudy was convinced but she was lying about it.

Oh man they skipped a lot of content and even changed the sex scenes in the episode after a perfect adaptation of the last episode. This was supposed to be one of the most emotional and best chapters of the whole series. If you are interested to see the whole Rudy monolog here: How many days passed after that? I had only a vague sense of time. I woke, slept. Woke, slept. Repeated the process countless times. When I slept, my dreams replayed the moment of Paul’s death. I saw him slash at the hydra, saw it swing its neck. Felt him shove me aside, pushing me out of the way. Then watched him move again, watched the hydra move again, but I couldn’t move. Paul kicked me out of the way, and I watched as the hydra’s head came plummeting down in front of me. Then I jolted awake, checked to make sure it was just a dream, and huddled back into bed. I didn’t have the willpower to get up. All I could do was think about Paul. Paul was… He… Sure, okay, he wasn’t a praiseworthy human. He was terrible with women and a total show-off. He was weak in the face of adversity and looked to alcohol for an escape. He hadn’t even bothered to say anything fatherly before we went into battle. By most standards, he was a complete failure as a father. But still, I loved him. It wasn’t quite the same as the parent-and-child love Paul felt for me. To me, Paul was more like a partner in crime. Strictly speaking, I was mentally older, but he had more physical years on me. Even when it came to life experience, he was probably well ahead of me when you considered the decades I’d spent as a shut-in. None of that really mattered. Age was pointless. When I talked to Paul, I felt like the two of us were on an even footing. I couldn’t see him as a father, and I’d probably never really thought of myself as his child. But Paul was different. He’d seen me as his child from the very beginning. Me, who’d been a piece of shit thirty-something recluse on the inside at the time. Me, whose actions thus far had to have been bizarre from an outside perspective. Still, he regarded me as family, never turning his eyes away. There were areas where he failed as a father, but he never faltered in considering me family. Never once did he treat me like a stranger. I was always, always his son. Despite my abnormal abilities, he still saw me as his son. He faced me head-on. He was a father. He always had been. Even as he carried burdens far too heavy for him, he acted as a father and continued to do things for the sake of our family. At the end, he’d even shielded me-used his body, as a father, to protect me. His son. He’d bravely put his life on the line, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. And he died. It was strange. I wasn’t even his child, but Paul was still my father. Paul had two real children. Not fakes like me-actual, honest-to-God, real children. Two sweet, genuine daughters. Norn and Aisha. If he were going to shield anyone, it should’ve been them. Plus, he had two wives, right? He’d spent years desperately searching for one of them-Zenith. The other, Lilia, had been there to support him until then. Two wives and two daughters. Four people in total. What the hell are you doing leaving them behind, huh, Paul? I thought But maybe I was just as important to him, too. Two wives, two daughters and one son. Maybe they were all equally important to him. I’d never seen him as a father, but he’d thought of me as one of the most important people in his life. Ah, fuck. Why, Paul? Give me a break. You said it so many times: “Rudy, I see you as an adult now. I see you as a man.” I got married, bought a house, took guardianship of my sisters-of course I felt like an adult. I came to help you, worked hard in that labyrinth. I saw myself as an adult. You did too, didn’t you? That was why you said what you did at the end, right? “Save her, even if it kills you.” So, explain to me: Why? Why…? Why did you shield me, if I’m an adult? What am I supposed to say to Norn and Aisha when I go home? How am I supposed to explain what happened? What am I supposed to do with Zenith, the way she is now? What am I supposed to do from here on out? Tell me, Paul. You were supposed to decide this, weren’t you? Dammit. Why did you have to go and die? Ah, fuck. At least if I had died, it would be him here anguishing over what to do instead. Or better yet, if neither of us had died, no one would have to suffer. Ah, I can’t do it. Sadness bubbled up with me. I couldn’t stop the tears that came flooding out. In my life-my previous one, that is-I didn’t even cry when my mother and father had died. I hadn’t even felt sad. Now that Paul was dead, the tears came naturally. I was sad. I couldn’t believe it. The one person who had to be here-was supposed to be here-was now gone. Paul was a father. Paul was my father. I’d never thought of him as one, and yet, he was every bit a parent to me as the ones from my previous life. I thought and thought, cried and cried, until I was exhausted

Awww man I wish they kept at least half this. It feels even more short now in the anime with how in depth this goes about Rudy reflecting on his feelings towards Paul and how he tried to understand the way Paul thought of him. I think my favorite line that isn't in the anime from this is "The one person who had to be here is now gone". Thank you for frequently letting me know what the anime skips.

I'm a Japanese Ado fan. Your reactions are the best! You have a lot of expressions and good reactions, so it's a lot of fun to watch! This song is a cover of a work made by Vocaloid producer kikuo. The original is sung by a Vocaloid, not a human. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gIimz8GilMXOhc4.html This song was recorded for a cover album, and there is no MV. The lyrics are about a girl who is starved for love. She tries desperately to satisfy her need for approval, but if she doesn't feel loved, she goes crazy with anxiety. The crazy, intense singing part expresses the feelings of being anxious and crazy. The title "Love me, love me, love me" is a message of desperately begging for love. In Ado's videos, the original songs of Ado have pre-translated lyrics, but unfortunately, for cover songs, it seems that translated lyrics cannot be posted due to copyright issues.

Thank you for your reaction to the both versions of Ado's Dignity. This song is the *theme song* for the live-action movie *"THE SILENT SERVICE"* about a *nuclear submarine* . The movie is based on a long-length manga (1988-1996) related to Japan's national defense, etc. But *the music video* seems to have *little in common* with the story of the movie and the manga, other than it takes place in the deep under the sea. Maybe they didn't want this song to be deeply related to the story involving the really existing countries. So, I think this song should be *interpreted and appreciated* according to *this music video story* . The main character seems to be an *(AI) robot girl* . There would have been a *battle* that killed *all crews but her* , but thanks to the still live nuclear reactor, she *can move* within *the length of the power cable* , and, every day, *she* would think *what the crews fought for* and *died for* .

Ahh I didn't know this was for a live action movie but I'm not surprised the video doesn't have much relation to it, a lot of anime song official videos are like that too. I really like this interpretation of it, so the mechanical whale thing was a representation of the people she lost right? And those seemed to be the only connections she had so she's sad because she's now alone. But then what about the person at the end ? Just someone that reminds her of who she lost? But now that I understand it more I'll think of this whenever I rewatch it. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it.

@@oddsamurai1 I think all of that is left up to the listener. And I think the reason why the person (whale) seems to be still alive at the end is because if it had died, it would have been a too much sad bad ending.

Not an elf she'sa demon. You combine the end scene of last week with the beginning of this episode is more than enough of her pov. And him saving her was her idealwish to fall in love it was foreshadowed

Ah you're so right, I completely forgot she said she was a demon in the first episodes of the series and that's why her family was in the demon continent lol I wanted more since I highly doubt this is even a third of what the LN showed, I don't think it's bad to want more in depth scenes of how her mind worked while alone here. Was the foreshadowing from the first few episodes of S1 too? I've only watched those once when they aired.

@oddsamurai1 yea I get wanting more details but I feel like the anime never leaves out something major. Most source readers didn't even think we would get that opening scene cause they can't wait to say what was cut content. The foreshadowing was S1 ep 13

Thank you for your nice reaction to Ado. You can sing in Japanese. If you don't mind, could you please react to 'Dignity' of Ado next time, since I think the ratio of 'Dignity' ingredient in KZread seems to be relatively low.

@@oddsamurai1 When you upload a video to KZread, if you turn on automatic audio recognition, subtitles would be generated automatically? Although it may not be as accurate as a human, I think it will make it easier for people who cannot understand spoken English. It's been an hour since the video was uploaded, so it may just be that the subtitles haven't been generated yet.
