Hello from London uk BRAVO on an excellent video - the best I’ve seen about Gary’s train station - I’ve known of it for 20 years because of my love of architecture and melancholy decline but you’re is the only one that incorporated ckear footage from the 1950s movie and that makes the whole thing breathtaking. Bravo 🎉

I live a minute away and have been going to Lakeside since it opened in 1976. Even worked at Footlocker way back in 1980. It was very busy back then. A new mall, Partridge Creek, opened up two miles away, which kick-started Lakeside’s decline along with on-line shopping.

I just don't understand why people would rather shop at an open air shopping center that is only comfortable on great weather days! What about extreme heat, cold, snow and rain? Wouldn't an enclosed mall be a better option??

Such great memories as a child. I am 40 now and was born in Barberton, Ohio...our parents took us there many times. Miss this amusement park. Wish I could have taken my family there before it closed. I have four kids and they would have loved it. Now there's only very expensive amusement parks. Ran by greedy owners. Sorry but true.

That music is so sad. I remember as a kid visiting my grandparents there for the summers. Those used to be some fun times. Things were so vibrant and peaceful in those days. I will never forget this coffee cake from this one bakery there. It used to be near a Piggly Wiggly. I can still taste the butter and caramel from it as it was served hot.

I looked this up after leaving Cherokee Street area one day. There was a whole abandoned hospital and school within one street of each other. The economic disparities in my hometown is so sad; redlining is awful. I'm trying to find out what those buildings were that my roomie and I saw (halfway through the video, so we will see if i recognize the ones we found lol).

This is a great video. I love your style of dead mall walk through videos. No narration just awesome music during the tour. Love the jazz tune in the background. I’m really sad to see all these beautiful malls closing. I was especially emotional to find out Stratford Square Mall closed last month, April 21, along with other aesthetically beautiful malls all across the US. It’s just so sad to see these once glorious places close. Places where we cherished spending time at with family and friends in the 80s, 90, even early 2000s. Lakeside is a beautiful and well maintained looking mall. I’m so emotional watching these videos of dying, or dead and abandoned malls. I wish we can revert back to a time when these were the places to be. These places rocked in the 80s and 90s especially. I loved going to them as a child. I would get excited when my parents would take us to the mall for doing our chores. Such memories. But memories are not lost.

Appreciate your comment and have seen your other comments before! I try to capture these malls as it is. Simple walkthroughs with no added commentary. What you see is what you get. As a kid in the 90s I remember department store or mall music in the background while shopping and it sounded similar to what I try to include in these videos.
