To the gale one I think the reason snow lingers on the word cousin is because I am pretty sure by this point he has seen the photo/ video of gale and katniss (correct me if I’m wrong) but I think that would be the main reason And I Do like theory that Katniss is connected to the covey in some way but I don’t think that she is biological related to Lucy gray because one of my main theories is that Lucy Gray escaped and went to district 13 and change her name to coin so… And then came back and begin to work her way up the ranks to eventually take revenge on snow maybe I just think it’s strange that coin knows so much about Lucy Gray /what gets to snow especially when she /Beete do the Mockingjay lives line in Mockingjay so…

From my understanding the insect thing was because of the author's personal experience with foster kids. And if his experience is like mine I noticed a lot tend to hook up together(often bonding over their similar experiences and progressing with the knowledge that they are technically not blood related, plus opportunity and uncontrollable puberty hormones and often neglect)

No it's actually a real poem by a famous poet. Some of the lines were changed by Suzanne Collins but it's mostly the same. Lucy Gray's fate is heavily inspired by this irl poem

A peeta novel would be great but I doubt it would happen. The only way where I think that we would get a Peeta novel is if Suzanne writes a sequel to mockingjay like where Katniss and Peeta have children. I just feel like Katniss and Peeta’s story is finished and if Suzanne is going to expand the hunger games series she would probably write more prequels about different characters and their story. There’s so many ideas for more prequel books that are more likely, like a lot of people want Finnick’s and Joanna’s games but I feel like we would see a book about the dark days or a book about the first quarter quell, but in the end I guess anything could be possible.

I just genuinely don't see how a Peeta sequel novel could be anything but totally boring. I think it's best we don't get specifics of their perfect little life post games. Unless the system collapses and another war happens, I'd rather imagine their life together than like just see them eat dinner as a family and play in the meadow. Maybe a short story but definitely not a novel. I am biased tho, I've never been particularly invested in Peeta. Great guy, right choice for Katniss, but just doesn't do much for me. As for their rewards for being victors, I reckon that both of them choose not to receive any sort of pension out of principle, but maybe some others like Johanna or Enobaria do. Instead the new regime implements more systematic reparations to entire communities (food shipments, medical aide and such) and Katniss and Peeta just benefit from that. They probably also eventually tore down the victor's villages and live in a normal house they built themselves. I think overall a Finnick novel is more likely and personally I'd prefer it. Not (just) to see his games, but moreso insight into Snow's regime.

I like your points. I would prefer to not invade on Katniss and Peeta's lives after the war simply because I think that's what Suzanne Collins intended when writing the epilogue. I like to think they 'lived happily ever after' and were able to healthily cope with their trauma over time. With a Finnick novel I think that would allow us more knowledge as well with how the Capitol convinced the districts associated directly next to the water to not escape via stealing a boat

Interesting theories... I like the idea of it being from Effie's perspective. She is so proud of the hunger games for the 74th games. I can see how she has been swayed into fully embracing the propaganda. She would be a good choice from a capital perspective. Plutarch would be a good perspective too since he does seem to understand the power of propaganda. Another thought could be using the perspective from one of Haymitch's family members or friends since we know they do not make it due to President Snow punishing Haymitch. I also would not rule out Katniss's parents. Both her mom or her dad could show an interesting perspective from a district youth watching the 50th games. What if the perspective comes from a district 1 or 2 youth? The youth from those districts were very proud to play in the hunger games. They would have bought into the propaganda from the capital. They would likely be suprised by Haymitch winning the games. I could see Susan Collins showing how these districts youth are made to be proud of the games. We have seen the perspective of the capital from Snow and the perspective of the games from Katniss. Now we could see the perspective of the games from a district 1 youth who was not repeated for the 50th games but comes to see it as a honor to play in the games. Maybe this youth would go on to train future hunger game Victor's from district 1. This is just a theory that may or may not be the direction Susan Collins is going. All the different perspectives are interesting. I am curious how Susan Collins will show propaganda and which youth she will show this from. But it does make sense to show Haymitch's 50th games.

Mags, along with Woof are probably the only two victors we know of that could've watched the 10th Hunger Games, since Woof is in his 70s, the earliest games he could have won is the 12th games at 15 or 16, which would make him 78 or 79 as of the 75th games, which is still in his 70s like the books say

I don't think Effie would be interesting. She was a very shallow caracter. Yes, she loved Katniss and Peta, but I think this is just her personality, I think she loved all of her tributes. She haven't done any extraordinary. For Me she was always a kind loveable filler caracter. I can't imagine any real interesting personality for her.

I think with the book you're probably right but with how the movie developed her character she definitely has some amazing depth and motherly care for Katniss and Peeta. So maybe not in the Suzanne Collins universe.

Haymitch's pov is too easy, we've seen it before and we already pretty much know everything/all the important events from his games. I feel like it'll be either the POV of a career tribute (D1 Girl) because we've never seen the games from that perspective, or the pov of a game maker, or a mixture of all 3.

I think it would be really interesting if haymitch isn’t Plutarch’s mentor, so he dislikes haymitch/sees him as an adversary. Maybe he becomes attached to his tribute and when they die, this radicalises Plutarch to realise you can’t win by playing by capitol rules?

If it’s from Effie’s perspective she’d likely be an average citizen with very minimal to do with Haymitch because canonically District 12 had a different escort during the 50th games.

I'm gonna have to reread Catching Fire because I can't remember which characters were where for the 50th games. Although, we don't know how old Effie was so maybe she is beginning her career in the games or is in a wealthy family like the Snow family. But yeah Haymitch would be on the sidelines

Ive noticed you bring up a few times in ur vids on how the characters from the seam were white-washed and I would love to see what more you have to say about that in a full video. Tbh, its always what I’ve imagined and it never really made sense to me why they wouldn’t cast an indigenous actress ( i mean obviously Jenifer Lawerence did amazing and i know racism is a big thing in Hollywood but still) for Katniss and the others from the seam. Especially when there’s text contrasting her appearances to her sisters. I think I even remember reading something about Katniss wishing she looked like her sister, which really reminds me of the affects of a Eurocentric beauty standard. It would also line up with the geology of where district 12 is. It’s basically Appalachia and we that to compare and with the amount of similarities between the two, I think using info about Appalachia can be extended to district 12. Biggest example being mining and the mixture of Indigenous and white people. Anyways, it would be really cool to see you make a vid on that (the whitewashing and indigenous coding) because I think there’s a lot to be said and I haven’t seen a lot of discussion on the whitewashing of Katniss and Haymitch ( Ive seen some on Rue but thats it).Awesome video❤!

Haymitch before the Games should be very much like Peeta, a kind optimist, and the Games changes him, OR his GF can be Peeta coded. Explains why Haymitch says Peeta is too good for Katniss. Bc Peeta reminds Haymitch of his murdered love. If the narrator is Snow then I’d expect a 3rd book. His own trilogy.

yeah in the US your school is determined by where you live. it's possible to go somewhere else, esp if you live in a larger district with more options, but it's generally still a hassle. and my favorite was embarrassment simply bc I relate to not talking or making eye contact lol (autism eval today LFGGG)

I think Snow sees the sibling he wanted and thought he would be to his own sister had she lived in Katniss. That’s why he seemingly respects her so much. It’s like playing chess with a better version of himself and what he could’ve been. Who he SHOULD’VE been. Even Katniss gets her Lucy in the end. That could’ve been Coryo’s life once upon a time.

I’m yet to find a compelling person cast for Haymitch… but I will say I care deeply for whoever they cast as Katniss’ parents & that young future Mrs Everdeen needs to be Raegan Revord. I’d feel completely cheated if it wasn’t.

Some wild card theories; I think Snow came up with the idea of the Quarter Quell with the intent for them to come up with a twist that would 'quell' the rebellion from gaining momentum that was specific for the times. I also think it would be interesting to see the 25th Hunger Games from the perspective of someone that was voted for because people thought there was no way others would vote for OR someone who thought no one paid attention to them (mirroring Katniss) so they themself felt they were sure to be safe from the reaping.

I personally would like to see the logic behind how everyone was voted in and how expected it was by the tributes themselves that they would be voted in

I think people forget, Katniss didn't talk for weeks after Prims death. Her first word for the next few weeks after only being "I don't believe you" Prims death is sad, but it was absolutely necessary for the plot, and that's what makes it good

I think with the book you're probably right but with how the movie developed her character she definitely has some amazing depth and motherly care for Katniss and Peeta. So maybe not in the Suzanne Collins universe.

Haymitch's pov is too easy, we've seen it before and we already pretty much know everything/all the important events from his games. I feel like it'll be either the POV of a career tribute (D1 Girl) because we've never seen the games from that perspective, or the pov of a game maker, or a mixture of all 3.
Yes, I definitely agree. I think if the pov was going to be from Haymitch then they would have said that in the announcement
I think it would be really interesting if haymitch isn’t Plutarch’s mentor, so he dislikes haymitch/sees him as an adversary. Maybe he becomes attached to his tribute and when they die, this radicalises Plutarch to realise you can’t win by playing by capitol rules?

Yeah, in Mockingjay they're all enemies of one another then Snow and Coin are trying to gain power. It'd be interesting to see why Coin wanted power in the same way the prequel told us why Snow wanted power too
If it’s from Effie’s perspective she’d likely be an average citizen with very minimal to do with Haymitch because canonically District 12 had a different escort during the 50th games.
I'm gonna have to reread Catching Fire because I can't remember which characters were where for the 50th games. Although, we don't know how old Effie was so maybe she is beginning her career in the games or is in a wealthy family like the Snow family. But yeah Haymitch would be on the sidelines
Ive noticed you bring up a few times in ur vids on how the characters from the seam were white-washed and I would love to see what more you have to say about that in a full video. Tbh, its always what I’ve imagined and it never really made sense to me why they wouldn’t cast an indigenous actress ( i mean obviously Jenifer Lawerence did amazing and i know racism is a big thing in Hollywood but still) for Katniss and the others from the seam. Especially when there’s text contrasting her appearances to her sisters. I think I even remember reading something about Katniss wishing she looked like her sister, which really reminds me of the affects of a Eurocentric beauty standard. It would also line up with the geology of where district 12 is. It’s basically Appalachia and we that to compare and with the amount of similarities between the two, I think using info about Appalachia can be extended to district 12. Biggest example being mining and the mixture of Indigenous and white people. Anyways, it would be really cool to see you make a vid on that (the whitewashing and indigenous coding) because I think there’s a lot to be said and I haven’t seen a lot of discussion on the whitewashing of Katniss and Haymitch ( Ive seen some on Rue but thats it).Awesome video❤!

Haymitch before the Games should be very much like Peeta, a kind optimist, and the Games changes him, OR his GF can be Peeta coded. Explains why Haymitch says Peeta is too good for Katniss. Bc Peeta reminds Haymitch of his murdered love. If the narrator is Snow then I’d expect a 3rd book. His own trilogy.
Oooh I think Haymitch's girlfriend being like Peeta would be good. That'd make sense. Also I hope it's like a trilogy so we get another book
yeah in the US your school is determined by where you live. it's possible to go somewhere else, esp if you live in a larger district with more options, but it's generally still a hassle. and my favorite was embarrassment simply bc I relate to not talking or making eye contact lol (autism eval today LFGGG)
We love embarrassment and their character arc. Also - In Australia we have 'catchment areas' that usually determine where you go but I've never heard of being 'assigned' a school before

I think Snow sees the sibling he wanted and thought he would be to his own sister had she lived in Katniss. That’s why he seemingly respects her so much. It’s like playing chess with a better version of himself and what he could’ve been. Who he SHOULD’VE been. Even Katniss gets her Lucy in the end. That could’ve been Coryo’s life once upon a time.

I’m yet to find a compelling person cast for Haymitch… but I will say I care deeply for whoever they cast as Katniss’ parents & that young future Mrs Everdeen needs to be Raegan Revord. I’d feel completely cheated if it wasn’t.

Some wild card theories; I think Snow came up with the idea of the Quarter Quell with the intent for them to come up with a twist that would 'quell' the rebellion from gaining momentum that was specific for the times. I also think it would be interesting to see the 25th Hunger Games from the perspective of someone that was voted for because people thought there was no way others would vote for OR someone who thought no one paid attention to them (mirroring Katniss) so they themself felt they were sure to be safe from the reaping.
With the quarter quell being created by Snow, I totally agree. The 25th Hunger Games would also be interesting from the perspective of a tribute who was voted in. I personally would like to see the logic behind how everyone was voted in and how expected it was by the tributes themselves that they would be voted in
I think people forget, Katniss didn't talk for weeks after Prims death. Her first word for the next few weeks after only being "I don't believe you" Prims death is sad, but it was absolutely necessary for the plot, and that's what makes it good
Absolutely! If it weren't for Prim's death Katniss would have kept being used for schemes and power plays
