  • @JamesADoty
    @JamesADoty15 күн бұрын

    That is a very good question. The mower comes complete with two 80 volt batteries, the charger, a chute plug, and a handful of tools. All you have to do when you get the mower is uncrate it, put air in the tires, install the batteries and charge them, bolt on the sheering wheel, and bolt on the seat. The whole process takes only an hour or two.

    Thanks for this video. About how long is the cord on the charger. I'm considering getting this but I'm concerned about the location of my outlet

  • @JamesADoty
    @JamesADoty20 күн бұрын

    I never measured them, but the charging cable has to be at least six feet long, and the AC cord is also at least six feet long. I have my charger on a table on the right hand side of my carport, the AC cable easily reaches an outlet nearby that's at least six feet in the air. The charging cable reaches across my ten foot wide carport to the charger jack on the mower which is part on the left side of my carport with its back facing the ride side of the carport. Cable length shouldn't be an issue for most people. This is my second season with this mower and it's still brilliant.

    There should be an RCA jack next to the two twin lead jacks. You can plug a single RCA cable into that then plug an RCA to coax adapter into the other end of that cable and plug that into the coax jack on the back of the TV. If you look at the back of the console, there's a jack for power sort of in the middle, to the right of that is the RCA jack, and on the right are the twin lead jacks.

    I don't think my audio was very good, it's not just your ears. I'm fairly quickly out of breath too, I don't get near enough exercise. My Bafang BBS02 is cadence sensing, I've read that torque sensing is better but honestly cadence sensing is working pretty well for me. I wanted to keep my handcycle legal so I opted not to install the Bafang BBSHD which has torque sensing, the motor is rated at 1,000 watts though and isn't allowed for on road use in Washington State. I saw a professional hand cycle rider in a race using 180 degree cranks, he wasn't doing well. I think it's better having the cranks lined up. Speaking of cranks, I wonder if anyone makes counter balanced cranks. When my arms get tired it gets tough to pull the cranks back up from their bottom position. At the very least I should look up light weight cranks. I'm having real trouble with cross slopes due to the way roads are crowned, as it seen in the video. More practice will help. Over the winter I'll buy a new set of tires and tubes for spring.

    Yesterday a buddy of mine and I moved the foot rests to the top of the frame. I have a temporary bolt holding them on. I bought a proper bolt yesterday but haven't had time to swap them out. We also worked out my battery mount issue, it was user error on my part. My buddy brought his bike when he came over and we went for a 1.8 mile ride. My buddy's in his early 50s, I'm 63 and he hadn't ridden in three years, so 1.8 miles was the best we could do, he was getting pretty sore, and I was starting to get tired, but holding my own very well. Sorry, I don't have a fresh video, I'd like to get a friend to video the handcycle in action before the weather gets bad, if that happens, I'll post the video. At any rate I've now put small number of miles on the handcycle, the battery is still showing 100% and I'm really happy with my work to date. I have a temporary knobby tire on the left rear, I need to buy three new tires and tubes and change them out, my other two tires are in poor condition. I'll probably wait until fall since once the rains start here it'll be too cold and wet to ride again until May.

    Today I got a chance to take my first real ride around my neighborhood. Something up front is rhythmically rubbing but from the seat I couldn't tell what. I'll look into it. I do need to do something about the foot rests, my legs are too short and my feet don't reach so I'm a bit unstable in the seat. The new arrangement makes it so I can't use the seatbelt, I need to correct that. I rode for 1.5 miles though and everything worked as they should, I had no issues at all. I was cruising around at about 10mph on occasion and really had a good time. I have to admit to a bit of panic though, I'm not used to being more than a few feet from my powerchair.

I'm okay with that, I think I need to reroute the brake and shift cables anyway, the motor sort of interferes with their current placement. Yesterday after work I installed a reflector on each of the back wheels. It took me an hour and a half to install them. My hands simply weren't strong enough to push the retaining clip into place. In the end I had to use a small c-clamp and carefully squeeze the clip into place. After I worked that out with the first reflector, it only took me a few minutes to mount the second reflector. The tricky bit was knowing how much was too much, I didn't want to crack the reflector and I didn't want the clip to come back off. Tonight I'm hoping to install the new shifter. I wonder how long that'll take me? My plan is to prop the front wheel up on the wheelchair lift on my bus to get it high enough to work on properly.

    HOw's the mower after some time of use? How does it performs on hills?

    After three uses the mower seems great. I have no complaints at all. I can't speak for hill climbing ability, my yard is pretty flat though where my yard does slope slightly the mower doesn't seem to even notice the incline. The drive motor has so much torque that it will spin the back tires if I hit an obstacle.

    @@JamesADoty thanks for the info and your prompt reply! I’ve been watching your videos about this and now I might get one for myself

    @@anecdotephotography Thank you for watching my videos, I know my videos tend to not be very interesting or well made. I think the Hart 30 inch riding mower is worthy. Brushless motors, rack and pinion steering, and easily removable lithium batteries make for a great platform.

    How is the cut?

    Actually pretty much like the two previous gas powered mowers I've owned. The cut is good, I have no complaints. I mowed some tall grass a week ago in my side yard and the blades handled it just fine. I mowed again today, but honestly I don't think I needed to, the lawn's a bit dry and really hadn't grown a whole lot in the last week.
