Kudos to Gilbert for staying true to the tone and tastefully being himself while paying respect to Lifeson..

Paul NAILED Alex's tone on those ringing Lifeson Chords*. I've heard a lot of covers but nothing comes close. I've tried but I'm convinced that without an ES-335, it's impossible. Anyway, I love this. *The Holy Lifeson chord: F#maj sus4 sus7. From low E to high E: 2 4 4 3 0 0. Best played at maximum volume. 😄🤘

I think when you sing Geddy, you do it in your own voice, everyone sounds best after the first two or three lines, then they go back to impersonating and singing too high. Even someone like Sabastian Bach did the same in my humble opinion, he sounded great when they came back from the lead and then remembered it was Geddy and started screeching again. It's more of a Falsetto than a scream. Geddy, he's unique, just like everybody else.

Portnoy is a top shelf drummer, but he doesn't have the strict meter and feel Neil had. Just an easy count on a lot of pauses he was off count (and feel) compared to Peart. Neil was Neil and there will never be another one like him.

This is as good a cover of The Who's version of YMB that you'll hear. I am sure there are people who prefer it over the original live track from the Leeds show in 1970. The musicians on this stage are top flight. Still, even this assembly of talent can't match the ferocity of The Who at their peak. That is by no means a knock on these beasts, it's just I don't believe anyone could replicate the majesty of The Who during that time period.

First I was wondering why Paul's taped up Marshall? New secret Amp...maybe MARTIAN? Oh yeah, Pete played HIWATT! Not quite the same sound but Paul does know his nostalgia and loves doing it. I miss his ADA Rack during Mr.Big that sound was clear, crunchy, and massive... blew me away! Nuno used ADA's and Gary's up there singing ha-ha.

I am a huge Billy Sheehan fan since the late 80s, Paul Gilbert and Mike Portnoy are amazing and Gary Cherone does an excellent job. BUT: This is nothing compared to the raw power and technically finesse of The Who in their prime. Just watch the 1970 Isle of Wight concert and make your own decision. Peace!
Great energy!! Great line up! I'd love to hear the singer sing with Sound Garden! He has a great voice and tones to match. Chris Cornell is the man no doubt. Now that he's gone I can hear this guy in the Band.
