Butterbean don't have any technique. When he gets close he starts flailing away and his punches have no power. What worked against Plumbers and Janitors don't work against Trained Fighters. Trained Fighters know how to use the Jab to power punchers at bay and ineffective...(Like Holyfield did Tyson). And if the power puncher gets too close they know how to grab and hold... There are levels to Boxing

Holmes was VERY, VERY cautious! Never wanted to get close to him. Butterbean constantly charged at him, that alone makes him the winner for me...

Holmes wasn't being cautious. He's 52 years old. He was being conservative, you simple can't go hell for leather at that age. I thought he fought superbly though and deserved the win.

Holmes was very over rated and only fought bums like Ali. Holmes and Ali cant ever be considered for the top 10 in boxing. Sure they ran up journeyman count records but the running and hiding, blabbing mouths, and no power from their opponent has beens and wanna be people they fought highlighted most of their lackluster fights. Now Mike Tyson, that's a totally brute monster in the ring, a true champion like Rocky Marchaino was.

Haha, that's a good way to put it. Butterbean was a sight to watch back in the day, kinda like a circus act, I thought he was the real deal as a kid. They would put his fights before the main event.
