All my videos contain the highs and lows of repairing and restoring. If I make mistakes they will be included. It's the only way to learn. Just watch the rear bumper repair videos to see what I mean!
I hope you enjoy the videos and get inspired to try something for yourself.

Simple advice…before draining any fluid, make sure you can remove the entry plug….you never know.
Brilliant advice. Yes, you never know!
Thanks so much for this! I have just discovered a tear in just the same place on my 300SL driver's seat, so very encouraging to see how I can fix it myself!
So glad to hear you've found it useful. It's not hard to do and incredibly satisfying when you see the results. Give it a try!

Hey Paulie, did you finally get a new bumper? I'm repairing mine but it's very fragile and it'll probably break again soon as the plastic material it's made of is crap.
Yes I did and it's original not fibreglass. Had it for ages and not done anything with it but will be featuring it in the next video
Hi, have you made any videos on the misfire engines on the Barchetta? I was driving mine last week for a few miles, and it came across a misfire😢
Hi, I've done one on cleaning the MAF sensor but not specifically on misfiring. I had a quick look on the Fiat forum and and someone said if it happens when you lift off the accelerator it could be the throttle body needs cleaning. Hope that helps
Can u make a video on how to wrap interior peices with edges like that?
What kind of edges?
Oh...ja das ist gut, schade das Fiat da nicht dran dachte
Thanks. I know, I don't know how else to get in if the cable stops working
This helped me alot while using my kit. These kits don’t come with really good instructions… & they leave out tons of details… that you went over in this video. Appreciate this 😎👍🏾
I'm really glad you found it useful. Thanks!
Hi! Nice videos? Do you still have it? I had one and got it perfect.. then sold it... I regret it and I'm thinking of buying another. You're getting me interested again. They're great fun and a good future investment (to convince the wife..). Richard
Hi yes, still have it. Will be making more videos again very soon. They are still quite reasonably priced but it's getting harder to pass the emissions test each year. Can't apply for historic status on mine until it's 30 years old which would get around that.
@@pauliecabs Ah happy you still have it! It's a little easier here in Italy. Historic status is after 20 years. I have an Alfa Brera now but that is staying for sure. If I do get one be sure to drive down in yours. I'm in north Italy, 30 mins from Turin. Look forward to your new videos!
Frustrating to change an ABS unit for no reason, but been there many a time too. Do you still have the old ABS unit. If so, I'd be interested in buying the ECU module from it.
The rear brakes were an absolute nightmare! I wish I'd thought to do the pressure test at the start but that's experience for you. I still have the old one but I'm going to hang to it just in case. You could try barchettaparts.com
Adattatore. Al. 5.15 minuti. ? Kkl ? Come si chiama?
Ho aggiunto per te i collegamenti per i cavi nella descrizione del video.
Ciao. Come. Si chiama L adattatore grande ? 😊
Ciao. Che adattatore intendi? Dimmi a che punto del video si trova e controllerò. Oppure mandami una email.
Hey Paul I have a 5 series and I love wood interiors so much better than bring black or silver I’m thinking of doing this also as it’s a lot cheaper than buying a wood interior. Have you ever considered hydro dipping? Also how is the interior holding up with this wrapping on is it all still ok?
Yes it's still ok. The difficult bit was around the heater controls. I've seen some rings on ebay which fit over the controls and might help with the finish
People wrap their trim to get rid of wood and you put wood on the trim. Lol
I know lol. Too much dull black plastic! Might try painting or a hydro dip next
Run into the same problem. I did wet sanding up to 2000 and polished after. I used a restoration kit and it promised btter result, but noow I cannot get rid off that misty fog. Any advise without using varnish?
Sorry not an expert on this. It was the first time I'd done it. You could go up to 3000 and polish again. What don't you want to use varnish?
@@pauliecabs not against the varnish but I was wondering I made mistakes during the polishing? And how is the durability of the varnish layers? Is it last if not exposed too much of sunlight?
@@szabohunor91 just make sure you are thorough with each grade of sanding. Use 2k varnish for a more durable finish
I also have a 97 and can not get it to connect... I'm about to pull my hair out!
Have you tried multiecuscan.net for help?
Only fault they didnt fit the 5cylinder
Yes, that's true. Or an Abarth version.
As a engineer i would feed it through the return spring hole.... But i looks like it is possible to make a small bracket to a solenoid so you could make a electric boot release as. Backup
That's a good idea. Might be something for a future episode!
The nut that is holding the light broke on my citigo do I need to replace the whole light as well? When I order a new one from autodoc does it only come with this front part or also the inner part?
Not sure which bit you mean that is broken. Email me a pic if you like. The part that holds the light bulbs is separate to the tail part that I replaced
BARCHETTA I LOVE YOU!!!MX5 OF ITALY
Oh yes!
A garage would probably charge 175 pounds for the "repair".
For sure! There's so much people can do themselves and save a bit of money.
very nice ,hope i could do the same on mine than i'll get next week
Thanks. I should have practised on something else first before I did the cover to get better results. My advice would be to try it that way.
Hello what is the glue you used for the top ? Please
The plastic glass or the black vinyl?
@cabs black vinyl outside at 14:00 mn on the video
It's filler which is part of a leather repair kit which also works in vinyl. There's a link in the description
What a cool channel you have !, and a cool car !!, subscribe clicked !!
Thank you so much. Glad you like the channel and thanks for subscribing!!!
Well done but its look horrible
Thanks. Tried to do something with all that black plastic! Might try a different effect next time or maybe paint
Nice video, thanks. Was the windo repair this product= Cabriodoc repair kit for Nike Air Max air cushions?
Hi thanks, this is the product "CABRIODOC Reparaturset Verdeck - Verdeckscheibe TRANSPARENT - SCHEIBE"
@@pauliecabs Thanks!
Nissan Juke, one of the ugliest cars in history.
lol but Mrs Pauliecabs loves her Daisy Juke!
@@pauliecabs Her preferences are her preferences. I wouldn't touch a Nissan Juke with a 2000 km hockey stick.
when the engine has a problem it puts a code up as a flag and a light on the dash, you then diagnose the problem , put it right and then -- clear all codes before driving the car and not the other way around. as you can see the engine didnt pick up on anything so it was a green light... so to speak.
Thanks. Yes, you're right. My first time using a scanner, should have tried clearing the codes then do the test drive!
Does it smoke sometime?? My Fiat Coupe 20v turbo just got a bit of a leak and smoke coming from under neath
Wow, nice car. I've never had a problem with smoke. Is it the leaked oil burning off?
Bien hecho !! Surprised uve not been maintaining ur wife's car?? That air filters not been changed for years ??
It's normally done by the dealer but I'm surprised how bad the air filter was. I don't think they changed it last time!
price?
It was a gift from Mrs Pauliecabs!
Beato te, mia moglie mi regala solo t-shirt 🤣🤣🤣
Me alegro de tu vuelta,Paul. Yo también lo cambié en mi Barchetta y todavía recuerdo lo que me costó aflojar el tornillo de vaciado😓😓😓😓 Podrías poner subtítulos en español? Gracias.
Subtitulos disponible ahora!
I am up a few hours up the coast from you in Mojacar, I bought my 96 Barchetta last month. 4 new tyres, boot strut, red seatbelts and 3D printed folding roof bracket covers is my expenditure so far. Roof down driving is mandatory, the only issue is the hiss and petrol fumes every time I fill up with petrol, partially solved by fitting a breathable cap. Great fun driving it every day 👍
There's always something to tinker with on a Barchetta! Luckily most parts are still available...but at a price. Hood down whenever I can!
Another nice job done! Changed the oil last week on my Barchetta, makes a big difference 👍🏻I think gear oil and power steering fluid are often overlooked somehow
Yes, a surprisingly big difference. I thought that when I changed mine. My gearbox oil was definitely overlooked!
Great job mate, your videos are always so educational. Joe from the Algarve.
Thanks! Glad you enjoy them
You dont need to replace the rubber that is over the gear selector arm. You should replace the arm with the short shifter that is for sale at dsm barchetta it makes the drive even more fun.
Thanks. Might check that out. Could be good for an episode on the channel!
I think u could have just squeezed the oil in through those extended nozzles, and u should have taken the fill plug off first !! But glad to see its still on the road ! Why was it covered up ?? I used my Barchetta more in the winter !
Covered up as I was painting the garage. The plug was going to come off one way or another. I wasn't going to be beaten lol
Welcome back!
Thanks. Good to be back!
Nice you´r back again.😊👍🏼
Thanks for sticking with the channel!
Nice! I got a silver Barchetta (early version) as well and it's always nice to see you working on it. After the oil change for the transmission my gearbox feels much better going trough the gears. My Barchetta always leaks a bit of oil from the steering. Anyhow - you once mentioned you wanted to buy a spanish retro car like a seat 600e a few videos back and last year i got myself a Jugoslawien build Zastava 750. Pretty much a Fiat 600d. Maybe the spanish version would be a nice project car for you as well. Best greetings from Germany.
Thanks, I'll need to check my steering. That's something I haven't looked at yet! Not necessarily a Spanish retro car but something around the same age as the Barchetta, maybe a bit older. An old Seat would be good as it wouldn't take up much space.
I love plastic wood on a car dash. This looks fantastic.
Me too. Might try hydro dip or alcantara next
Paul I am in South Africa where I have the only Fiat Barchetta in the country. I recently changed my cambelt and had the timing checked by three garages. The car won't idle properly. The new cam belt has 168 teeth. How many teeth should the Barchetta have?
Hi sorry, I don't know. The Fiat Forum is always a good place for advice. I found this link. It might help www.fiatforum.com/threads/timing-belt-water-pump.478523/
Great! Looking forward to it👍🏻
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
thanks PAULIECABS you just save me a lot of pain, and I'm sure many cuts to my hand. The cable on my car was very tight and I could not see how to get the lens off. Two minutes with your video and I had the knowledge I needed. Job now done enjoying a well earned cup of tea
That's fantastic. I'm glad the video helped!
Still having fun with the Barchetta?
Yes, will be back to making proper videos soon 😀
Great!👍🏻
i cant do that here. if i crash the insurance will not cover me. and the car will not pass the anual inspection
I know. Some countries and regions are more strict than others
Nicest and nice. 😂
Yesss!
