A piece of removable Flex Pipe should get used for that exhaust . Or simply re-route it . While the Gearbox is OUT , ALWAYS do the Clutch . Well done with the repair . Indeed , a BIG job .

The lack of variety in the fleet is disappointing. Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu, Suzuki at least would be good to have in the pack. Funny to watch those old school British trucks bouncing over rocks with car like travel and firm bumpstops. Looks uncomfortable. The wife's 100 series landcruiser woukd piss through this track though, so that's good to know. Most of the tracks people on KZread are doing would see it damaged or stuck with the IFS and unprotected sills.

Interesting comment 🤔 We generally keep it to Land Rovers (the older the better) If you want to see Toyotas, nissans, Isuzu etc there's PLENTY of video's out there for you. We love the challenge of driving these 50-60 year old vehicles into places like this. I'm sure your wife's 100 series landcruiser is awesome. Maybe you could make a video about it? I hope you enjoyed the video? We had a fantastic time making it 😀

@@hayden_jones it's a bone stock city kids/grocery run truck (first 25 years and 410k km) turned tow vehicle for serious use, so far. Even though it's probably one of the most bulletproof trucks ever made I cannot risk hurting it using it for fun just yet. Once the hard work is done, maybe. Not video worthy, though. May use it to haul out a 12 tonne 12m launch in low ratio at some point, if so video will be published :-D The video was alright but I skipped the on-foot section. I'm doing research to try to figure out how to promote another really good channel that has way too few subs, views, likes for the really good production quality he produces. No affiliation, just want to help someone who deserves it. Your vids seem to get the most views of kiwi vids, maybe because of the land rovers? Not sure. Thumbnail and title must be part of it. Thiugh you are low on subs too. Any insights welcome :-)

I live where Range Rovers and new Defenders are commonplace, yet most of their drivers have no idea how their cars work. I went to an off road event where new Rover owners thought they could drive . I recovered more than one in my 64 Series 2A. Also, no buttons.

I found the key to off roading a series land rover was about assessing the amount of momentum required to climb a slope or get through deep ruts . On standard springs that momentum would have you bouncing about the cab. When I fitted parabolics to mine it made a very noticeable difference . A much softer flexible ride on and off road. They improved articulation helping all 4 wheels to stay in contact with the ground .

From what i could see with lots of pausing, its a Landrover input gear with the splines milled out and the centre of a Toyota Input gear pressed and welded in place? Then a custom made rear mainshaft bearing housing? Gearbox Crossmember looks very neat
