21:23 when the bullying is so uneventful that a red shell falling off feels like a let down! xD You indeed got a lot less bad luck, but I also think these tracks have quite a few jumps shells can't cross. Maybe thats why after a significant lead you are actually immune to them. Well played nonetheless! Glad you too experienced that these cups were not as hard to get as they initially seem. (Okay now the title and thumbnails are maybe a LITTLE bit too clear!! haha But getting two of them at once is very remarkable, so its totally justified)

hello, just wanted to say that the star ranking system is much more forgiving than what you seem to assume, I was able to get my three stars on the special cup on 150cc after hitting two cars and falling off once on Rainbow Road, good video though !!
Yeah one of the things I’m discovering is that it’s much more lenient than what I thought it was. Good to know as well about falling off. That’s going to make my life a bit easier on these

Yeah, I too prefer wii wheel controls. Your bad luck makes me laugh so much though, not because I want to make fun of you, but because your footage really captures the experience of trying these (its like a relief and "I know right!?" feel). Please don't ever feel forced to add extra editing video and audio effects, the raw footage like you currently do does convey the situations very well. The way you got it at the end really confirms my bias that the online guides about what is mandatory to get 3 stars are incorrect though. I wish someone actually did some research using dolphin and RAMwatch to check what the actual rating conditions are (and maybe make a freestyle TAS playing around the limits by getting the seemingly worst race and still get 3 stars! haha) I think the video title, or the thumbnail like last time should hint more at the quest to get 3 stars. I was unsure when clicking this but was happy that you are still going! Maybe eventually make a "road to 3 stars badge in MKWii playlist", since I don't think I have seen anyone do that yet. Or when you are finally done, a compilation of all the most unfair moments on the way too would be awesome (although, to be honest, the entire video is already such compilation haha). Fantastic job, I'm glad you are making these! Also, I don't mean to backsit but some things that helped me and that I don't see you do are: -Stand still drift to build mini-turbo when stopped on a low acceleration vehicle to start faster (although, this medium vehicle might be on the verge where its not all that worth it, and don't do it if you feel like its cheesing) -Drifting can accelerate you much faster to top speed than going straight -Spam D-pad press to roll and obtain items faster to protect from incoming shells (and hold at the back a protective item even when the coast is clear too, because green shells are just too sneaky) -Short drift left to move quickly to the right (and vice-versa) Ah and I almost forgot: yeah these 50cc cpus are suspiciously good at keeping up sometimes! Its like if the rank 2 keeps on rolling mushroom items or something... If one day you look for a good way to crush your ego though, make a custom rules VS race with cpus on hard and no items: they will bump you into bonking a wall, and then you can barely never catch up to the pack for the entire race! :D If this comment feels like I am telling you what to do by the way, I apologize, I just hope that you too get these ideas in general.

In my head cannon, I like to think getting 3 stars is based on the time you get at the end of the race. If thats true, then indeed hitting walls, falling in pits, driving off road and getting bullied would slow you down too much (and staying in the lasts for too long usually would mean that you are doing poorly). So switching to a fast car with very long mini-turbo like you did is actually very good for that! I have actually been trying to 3 star cups myself this week in 50cc. You video is so relatable! (although, the rate at which they green shelled you is really ridiculous) And you have said evertything about getting the right items too. Getting 3 stars on more advanced tracks like the special cup is not as hard as you think, because the cpu is having a much harder time to keep up with you. After being half a lap past 2nd cpu, most items they used are employed to sabotage each other instead of targetting you (which gives you extra lead). Its almost like they forget you exist at times! So the only thing you need to worry about is the items rank 2nd gets, the usual blue shells/pow/lightning and...the red boxes you placed YOURSELF on previous laps because NO cpu is driving lines as good as you do! Its a really entertaining and nice to watch video! I like that you didn't cut off the part where go through the entire menu to restart the cup again, because it truly represents the grind. I can't wait to see more of these 3 stars attempts!! :D (also right now I am stuck trying not to get 2 stars on 50cc Banana cup...I just don't get it! Hope I can also see how you will do on that one ^^)

After doing more research on what I built, it turns out the iron farm I was building was the bedrock version, not the Java version. So if we were playing in bedrock, it would’ve worked. I think I deserve votes for that

It’s because I’m more used to bedrock since that was the version I’ve played more and I thought the mechanics were the same so I just built an iron farm that I figured would work and then spent like 20 minutes trying to figure it out before googling it and discovering the error of my ways.

It’s a leftover habit from Mario kart Wii. I know MK8D has a slightly different pattern for it but my muscle memory is too strong

You know it's serious because I posted on a Wednesday, and it's not scheduled. Also, this wasn't exactly the Nintendo content I expected to react to this month, but it is Nintendo content.
Great video! The fact that the developers said they couldn't top Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports makes me wish that they ported it to Switch. They would have put Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort in the same package, kind of like Super Mario 3D All Stars. I hope Nintendo will learn from this and even port Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort to the next Nintendo console now that there are so many rumours about it. They could add Online Play which would be a really nice addition because that would be fun. They could make the same level system for Online Play as for Offline Play, but with a slightly higher pro level. And I don't want a menu like in Switch Sports but similar to Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Make somewhere in the bottom even if Online Play on and off. I believe that the port to the new Nintendo console, if it came, would be much more popular because of Online Play and not just because of that. There would probably be a lot more videos on KZread of people playing Wii Sports online. Wii Sports + Resort was pretty damn good so I wouldn't be surprised at all that the port would get a lot of popularity. I wouldn't think that port would be as dead as Switch Sports and I think that's for sure. And if Skyward HD was brought to Switch, why not Wii Sports and Resort for Switch or the new upcoming console from Nintendo.
Thanks for the feedback! I 100% agree with everything you said here. I hadn't considered the UI of switch sports before you brought it up, but now that I think about it it's not as good as the ones in Wii sports or Wii sports resort. It's usable, but it lacks the charm of the other 2 I think. Hopefully we can get some kind of Wii sports and Wii sports resort port to whatever comes next for Nintendo. Otherwise Dolphin exists, but it's not the same to me and not everyone's comfortable getting dolphin set up or even emulating something in the first place.
@@jpp3145 Yep. If those Wii Sports developers are told to make a new Wii Sports for the new Nintendo console, they should just port Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort directly. Who cares about the best graphics and that Miis have realistic looking hands. When I've watched the Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort videos, I've never once noticed anyone complaining that Miis don't have realistic hands. It's like nobody really cares. All I'm asking for is a remake of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort for Switch or a new console that comes with Online Play.
I think a remake of Wii sport and Wii Sports resort with online play would be awesome. Another commenter suggested an open world Wii sports resort, which I think would be really awesome. Maybe give the option between the classic mii look and the updated sportsmate look for it? Then you can have the best of both worlds and still maintain the charm from the OGs.
@@jpp3145 Well, couldn't that Air Sports mini-game be called Open World? Ok, there's a time limit but I would call it open world. Or what do you mean by the open world?
yeah air-sports for sure can. I was thinking something along the lines of "You can control your mii, explore the area, and pick sports from there if you want". You can still pick the sports using the menu too, but also give the option to freely explore the world on the ground and choose sports by going into their respective places. Maybe hide easter eggs that way for people to find.
Imagine an open world Wii Sports Resort on switch. That would be a dream come true
