    The wizards will be worse than last year and Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole numbers will be worse. This team currently structured is definitely a worst team than last year. Don't expect any improvement in any aspect of the game..

    Poole's averages went up after the move to PG. From that point on he averaged 20ppg, 5.8 assists and 4 rebounds on 43-35-95 shooting splits. It got higher the longer he was in the position and he averaged 23ppg, 8 assists and 4 rebounds on 43-34-96 shooting splits. I believe he'll average closer to 23-25 ppg, 6 assists and 4 rebounds on 45-35-95 splits. To your point BK will require him to take better shots which improved his efficiency once he moved to PG last season, so there is no reason to believe that won't continue. Plus they'll make him play defense. Kuz will do better to because BK requires it. Mixing the young guys with the vets will be great. I think we'll see a lot of different combinations which will be exciting to watch!

    I am putting zero stock into any of that. Feels like when Deandre Ayton had those crazy numbers post-ASB yet is already on the trade block again despite his age matching up with the Blazers' timeline.

    @@psychobluesfxtYou probably don't follow the Warriors but Poole put up 20ppg and 5 assists off the bench in Golden State his last year there. He also averaged 26ppg and 5 assists when he filled in for Steph when he missed almost 30 games Poole's last season with the Warriors. He was the 3rd leading scorer in Golden State behind Steph and Klay his last 2 years on the team so the numbers I listed are not out of reach. Why do you think so many people thought Poole would come to Washington and his scoring would jump. The thought was that he would have more opportunity to shoot in Washington versus playing behind Steph and Klay. He struggled because they played him off ball so it was tough for him to get into a rhythm. Once they allowed him to play on ball after the All-star break that's what opened up his game and WE who know how he can play saw his game go back to what it was at Golden State.

    @@peaceful344 I did follow the Warriors, but he also had a significantly better team around him that optimized him, while right now he's in a situation where his shortcomings are being emphasized instead. His career is not a good trajectory at the moment and while I understand his value is extremely low, I'd appreciate if the expectations around him were more realistic when it comes to rebuilding this team. There's a lot more to rebuilding than simply losing a lot to get the best ping pong ball, especially for a franchise that over the past few years has drafted poorly.

    Pro sports has become a big joke. The banner being a joke is not the biggest joke. What ever happened to the days when the competition was entertainment enough? I'll leave it at that. There is the even bigger problem with sports today, which is a bigger elephant in the room, that obviously few seem to be concerned with.

    Happy for Bilal to get his moments in the finals - his dunk was a huge moment for France. Met him at IAD on the way to Paris and genuinely one of the nicest kids you could meet.

  • @israteeg752
    @israteeg7527 күн бұрын

    Unlike the Wizards, Team France was operating on a short and condensed schedule while competing for a medal. They had no time to bother with egos and player development. Therefore, is shouldn't come as a surprise to you all that Billal was primarily focused on playing the position of a situational defensive stopper, which is what he is at this point in his career, and also explains his limited minutes on the court.

  • @johnloftus6043
    @johnloftus60437 күн бұрын

    The potential is there, ball handling has to improve or he will be only marginally successful. I sometimes think 3 and D players are put on a pedestal and that level of play is equivalent to getting a C- grade. Drafted 8th? Needs to attack defenses and make things happen.

  • @gignacthebigmac6992
    @gignacthebigmac69927 күн бұрын

    The takeaway I got from in my opinion watching Bilal in the final is that he needs to work on the finishing, he missed like 2 easy finishes that basically got him put in the bench essentially. He really needs to work on his offensive game, especially the finishing when he does floaters. He did do his thing on defense for the minutes he was given, but if he had more offensive prowess, he would’ve stayed on with more minutes.

  • @NomadicBrian

    I watched Bilal in the Canada and the US game. Not much shooting. Setting on defense and broke up a play now and then. Worked on passing. Glad to see him get the experience at the Olympics. It did seem like he will be building up more again this season. No surprises probably for the Wizards. I think that's the plan. Draft high again and win the lottery.

    I’d bet a buck that the Wiz would rather have Bilal working on his game under their plan with their developmental coaches! However for an 18/19 year old playing for your national team in France near his folks would be a dream come true. He needs intensive focused personnel training/instruction. His shot isn’t G League ready! Noticed that you are approaching 5k subscribers, congratulations Brandon you were in low 100s when I stubbed on your channel. There are other sites that push fantasies about how great the Wiz are doing etc, you are realistic and much better for it. It is obvious now that the new team are 100% into the rebuild and only acquire new older players to turn them into draft choices or young players for development. Just like OKC. I would be searching for a team that loves Bilal for a trade for their #1 pick in 2025. He is a big gamble. But that’s me. If the Wiz had followed your instincts they’d have Haliburton and Cam Whitmore. And maybe Shepard. The first phase of the rebuild would be over. Why did Whitmore’s stock fall so quickly? If Sarr is able to push himself lifting etc he will be at least ok, if he has the ‘heart’ of Byrd, Jordan, DocJ, Mombo, and Kevin Garnet etc, he will be worth the drama. Bub does seem to fit that mould.

    A note about Brandon's biggest draft pet peeves: the one, the notorious, Jan Veselý. Following his departure form the NBA, Vesely has carved out a solid career in Europe as a contributor, playing for elite Euroleague teams. He became a consistent 25-minute player who averages10 to 13 points per game while also significantly increasing his free throw percentage to a respectable 70% to 80%. In fact, he is still active at that level at the age of 34. If he was able to make progress at the highest levels of European basketball, where long grace periods for development are not common, he could have done the same in the NBA. Once again, the issue was most likely with Wizards, who failed to establish a role and properly develop him.
