    Awsome vid Luc, hitting the ground with the correct foot strike, SO important. Risk of "inviting" a whole load of bio mechanical problems like calf strains etc. Socks ? Spot on, don't scrimp. Another good tip on breathing In through the nose Out through the # ss Aids propulsion ! :) ☀️ 🐆

    Great video wish I had this when I started to run. I been for almost a year and still struggle with proper glute activation whilst running which I think limit my performance. It would be amazing if you did touch on that in one of your videos, both best way to strengthen glute for running and activate it properly before and during run. Hope your hip heals soon and enjoy the summer

    I just read 'Breath' and I've started to try and implement nasal breathing in my running but it's so HARD!! Usually get 1k in and give up

  • @nataliakacmarova7211
    @nataliakacmarova72115 сағат бұрын

    Not sure if mentioned (I did not notice if Lucy mentioned) but running trainings are not just about running technique, gadgets and same. You should implement zone 2 runs (those easy nasal slow runs), interval runs and tempo runs. You will build higher vo2 level over time and it will be easy for you to breath with nose even with faster pace and for longer distances. I am running for many years and I have noticed (I was thinking same when I started) that many people think running is just about to go and run and of course they will give up bc after year it will be same suffering as fist day.

    I’ve been nasal breathing since I read the book at the end of March. It’s so hard at first. I even raced 5km on Tuesday and did it all through my nose. Little by little. I need a sweat band on though to wipe my nose! Definitely get more snot

    Labral tears are not likely to heal, especially if you have hip impingement. If your bones are misshapen then that is causing the tear, and will continue to keep tearing unless you get surgery to reshape your bones. You 100% need to get an MRI and confirm, and see a hip orthopaedic surgeon that specialises in hip impingement. Many people live with tears and hip impingement and don't have any pain, but because you are getting pain you need to get it fixed. Not what you want to hear, but all the physio in the world won't fix your bones.

    ah, I love these inspirational videos but the term "hybrid-athlete" is turning me off so many athletes on KZread. Professional cyclists, runners and swimmers all do other types of exercise such as weight training, yoga, pilates, but they aren't called a "hybrid-cyclist". They remain athletes. I don't really understand why people have to start giving themselves this label just because they participate in more than one form of exercise.

  • @LucyDavisFit
    @LucyDavisFit8 күн бұрын

    @@firestoreprojects6202 because that’s what it is by definition 😁 I used to be a professional swimmer and we did strength & conditioning / weights but it was sport specific so no I wasn’t a hybrid swimmer I was a swimmer. Being a hybrid athlete is an equal mix of strength & endurance within different sports. You don’t need to like it or understand it really because it won’t affect your life? If it bugs you just unfollow people! Have a great day 🫶🏻

  • @firestoreprojects6202
    @firestoreprojects62027 күн бұрын

    @@LucyDavisFit Interesting, I hear you. I can't tell if it's new terminology for KZreadrs as something new to latch on to or what? haha. I've done cycling competitions, running events, duathlon events, all the while still performing indoor bouldering, swimming etc and I never thought to label that as "hybrid", but instead "athlete" just makes sense. Do heptathlon athletes call themselves "hybrid"? Not sure really, genuine question. I guess in the same token you don't need to understand my confusion because it won't affect your life? Either way, good work on the training. 👍

  • @basti503
    @basti503Күн бұрын

    Because they're living in their own little world of being a "Hybrid athlete". They're basically just influencers pushing shitty products who like to do exercise. It wasn't so long ago when they were all slagging cardio and saying all you need to do is weight train and calorie count through their app. It's all just the current trend that they latch onto for social media traction.
