    Good shooting.! I just mounted a Sig Romeo 5xdr "green dot predator triangle" sight, after owning the CX4 for 2 years, I got the sight the same day... I love this carbine and my 92x RDO Compact, those 30 rounders are cool.! Yesterday was the first time using the gun and sight together, good combo especially for my 70 year old eyes! 👍👍

    First of all: I like the Glock field knife! But: it's not good for carving. It is also not good for preparing food. Generally speaking, it's not good for a lot of camp chores. What it is good for: prying open crates or digging a hole as a toilet. Yes, and for throwing it or fighting with it.

    One big plus is that Remington made their barrels better than J.M. And now Ruger. Remington trigger pull is lighter than J.M.’s or Ruger’s. Ruger made Marlin 1895’s have a trigger pull of 6.25 lbs. the 30-30’s have a trigger pull of 7.25 lbs. compare that to Remingtons 4.5 lbs. on the 1895’s and 4.25 on the 30-30’s. Ruger has now made Marlin lever guns with the heaviest trigger pulls ever known.

    You are also correct about the decibels created by cocking the hammer verses the cross bolt safety. Shooters do not realize that from time to time when someone attempts to set the hammer in half cock position they slip a little and Boom!!! These safety’s are quicker to function than pulling the hammer back from half to full cock. My Remington 1895 had a rather stiff lever action. After around 200 rounds the lever action is perfect!! Remington produced all their Marlin lever parts on CNC machines. Tolerances are tight not loose as on J.M.’s.

  • @kevinrollman3101
    @kevinrollman31014 ай бұрын

    You are correct Sir!! The wood to metal fitting especially on a 45-70 lever gun need to have spacing so the stock does not crack!! People do not realize this, but Remington does!!

    A buddy had one of these. The firing pin kept breaking. Wiselite charged about $800 to "fix" it 3 times, but it immediately broke each time and they just kept charging more and more money. Wiselite are scumbags.

    I had one of those years ago. I noticed some blown primers during my second shooting session. When I field stripped it at home I noticed the receiver was cracked! I traded it for an imported muzzle loader to a gunsmith who said he would use it for parts. Still don't know what happened.

    this is awesome. I'm left with one leftover part. its part of the trigger assembly. It's a small, thin piece of metal similar to the slide catch spring, but shorter with a couple more bends. what is it?

    Could it be that the thin wire spring, that is supposed to be a permanent part of the slide stop lever assembly, possibly became detached? kzread.info/dash/bejne/fGZ1yo-AmpezdNY.html

    @@theKGB65Thanks for the response. good thinking. I don’t think that’s it though. That a great video, but I still didn’t see the part. The weird thing is, got the whole thing assembled and it seems to function properly. Haven’t fired it yet though. I don’t know how I didn’t think to post a link. A couple thoughts. Started useing these in the early 70ties. They are a bit noiseir than you might think. Shot in your basement can be heard through out the house. Power wise, be careful. I shot through the side of a camper I own, so they do have some cat repellent power. On the plus side, you dont need a reloading tool. They are easy to use. And lastly, they can provide some shooting entertainment that otherwise might be to expensive. I like own and shoot both a S&W breaktop revolver chambered in.38 S&W and a Colt lightning chamber in .38 Long Colt. Two different guns two different calibers and these work in both. Ammo for these guns run high. Its black powder, I dont want to reload so these things just fill the bill. They wont hurt the guns and I get to do what I want. Pop caps and put holes in paper. It is my belief that if you have a .38 spl you shoud have a couple boxes of these. And if you dont own a .38 spl revolver, you should get one.

    Just a thought! Did you try it without that big goofy mount on there ? I feel elike that not only would affect the action of the slide but the mount looks to be blocking the spent cases from being able to eject!

  • @theKGB65
    @theKGB657 ай бұрын

    Yes. Most of my testing was done without that. Went way above-and-beyond trying everything - wide variety of ammo, lubes, number of rounds in the mags, sent it back to the factory, and wrung it out again. Nobody else went to these lengths, believe it. Figured I spent more on the test ammo than what the slide cost me. Using a big dot sight would negate the whole reason we buy these conversion kits. The dot allowed for a much finer aiming resolution as a means for ammo-accuracy testing. This was a very disappointing product. Now I have two Glock 44s that I am extremely pleased with.

    Any answer I might give should not matter to you because every load has to be systematically worked up for each individual firearm using a reputable published data source such as Lee, Hornady, the various powder manufacturers, etc.. We can't rely on other shooters for load recipes. It's always better to keep your foot off the gas when handloading. Strive for reliable function, accuracy, and clean burns that don't stretch the brass too much, and always within published specifications including case length and bullet seating dimensions. Reloading manuals are what make this hobby fun. The Lee Modern Reloading book is a favorite.
