3840x3840 pixels per eye, okay great but how do we even run this resolution for game at 60fps or more? Is the RTX 4090 even enough ? lol I guess we can always render with a smaller resolution. 2064 x 2208 pixels on my Quest 3 felt "pretty" sharp with the pancake lenses, going for 3840x3840 seems overkill with the current hardware? A VR headset with pancakes lenses, good LCD local dimming or micro-oled and high enough resolution without being overkill looks like a good deal to me

Finally a reduction in size. One of the major reasons I’ve avoided pimax is because they are just wayyyy too big. I think a better design is smaller headsets and lenses that wrap around the face for high FOV allowing for a smaller form factor (I know this is likely a very hard thing to accomplish but would be revolutionary).

I used to use a Pimax 8KX after my quest 2. Great fov and displayport view! But it wasn’t for me the application was buggy back then so I switched to quest 3. But now the light is out i cant wait to switch!

There is, however, an optional Valve Lighthouse faceplate being made available for the Super, for which one needs Valve basestations. NB: This has already been released for the Crystal/Light. The existing face plate won't fit on the Super as it's a different size.

On a PC, duplicate your browser tab and create a separate window. Now you can run the videos side by side. It would be nice to have a time reference, but I can see a streetlight on and pinkish sky, so right after sunset. In the local dimming off I can see the white building under a streetlight while in the local dimming on I can't. The local dimming one certainly looks more nighttime, but maybe it's not supposed to be, so a better video would have been to make it well into night.

Some VR enthusiasts, usually flight simmers, want OLED (for optimum black levels) but will accept the sacrifice of smaller FOV OLED comes with. Others customers don't have to have perfect black levels and would prefer the benefit of larger FOV and lower purchase price that QLED panels come with. For this reason, Pimax will offer both panel options in the hope of keeping everyone happy.

Suggestion (for the website/presentation) - There needs to be a compare tool to directly compare the 3 headsets (not counting Crystal Sim). - I don't know what the difference is between the QLED and MICRO-OLED, which is better, and what does the super bundle get me? - this difference needs to be presented better on the website.

Will there be prescription lens inserts at release?
