    Wow what a great performance. The whole band and especially Jon sound amazing. Even with the small mess-up in the middle, the way the corrected was amazing. Thanks for posting this.

    This is a good cover band made not as good with this old lady singing. I really miss their real singer. She was way better. And was much much better looking. By far. No comparison!

    I'm sorry to say it but GEEKS sound better than Yes!😮 Anderson is Yes like Ozzy is Sabbath. Sorry but imagine Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant. And I respect Howe ok?

    Fantastic, essentially a Yes "tribute band" but with the ORIGINAL vocalist from the band being paid tribute to...how cool is that 😎. These guys are tight - major props to Jon taking on this new endeavor with the classic era Yes material. I wish McCartney had done something like this with Beatle songs before his voice went south.

    A wonderful tribute to YES, and Jon Anderson is exceptional as he approaches 80 years! Remarkable! But let's not forget the musicians who created this song over 50 years ago, as their work is the underlying reason why this is happening today.

    A semitone down, which sounds wrong to my ears, though I guess you've gotta give Jon his best chance, at 79. Awaken with Todmobile was a whole tone down.

  • @frankhoulihanfh4972
    @frankhoulihanfh4972Ай бұрын

    So, this is wonderful, as was the Todmobile version, fantastic. However, I have recordings of the genuine Yes, and have been present at Yes concerts where this song, and many others, were beautifully rendered. In particular this song, and And You And I were potentially mind and earth shattering, depending upon who was playing and how tuned in the band was at a given performance. And not only these particular songs, either. You never knew when the True Yes was going to spring forth from any song and drop your jaw through the floor. Summer 2002, Don’t Kill The Whale @ Jones Beach NY was one such occasion. I never really even liked the song that much. Yet it was as though Yes were teaching it to us anew that night. There were also other righteous performances that night and other nights. This, I think is what I loved the most about this band, whom I might love the most out of any bands from those or any other times. You just never knew when they were going to suddenly rise up and be the band we’ve always knew they were. But you knew when it was happening. One moment it was a simple rock show, and lthe next it was a Yes Show and everyone was laid low and lifted up high together. Love The Band Geeks with my hero Jon and still love my hero(they’re all my heroes) Steve Howe, but there’s never been, in my experience, anything like the sight or the sound of Yes at their best, onstage. They did it to me over and over again. I will never forget it, or them.

    I've seen Steve's band 3 times and come nowhere near this level of power. I went home in tears over their slow and inadequate renditions of Jon's melodies and lyrics.

    Love to see Jon with these guys live. Jon is the guy who makes Yes music fun. I've seen Jon with Yes and Jon without Yes and Yes without Jon. Yes goes better with Jon. Long ago I saw him in small club in Palo Alto, CA with a band he put together around 1980. The 2nd half of the show was a great Yes show. But Jon was the only member of Yes there. These guys looks like they've got that going on too.

    Going tonight (6/13/2024) to the Chicago show, 2nd row / center. First saw Yes in 1978, the Tormato tour. It was 'In-The-Round' and I saw them at the Los Angeles Forum in Southern California. Have seen them many times since then. I look forward to tonight's show at the Copernicus Center, Chicago.
