********* SCORE********* Resourcefulness: A+ Ingenuity: A+ Expedience: A+ Skill Level: A+ Preliminary Prep Work: "F" Final Assembly: "F" When the video started I immediately took exception to the lack of prep work prior to opening the gearbox. Absolutely no attempt was made to clean the years of (dirt road) grit and crud off of that gearbox. So there was no surprise that all that shit was immediately attracted into the gearbox grease. So I thought "OK, don't be judgmental yet. Maybe someone else will be cleaning this thing while the repair is being machined"? No such luck. The newly machined repair was slapped together, dirt, grit and all. Not even a spec of fresh grease was added to replace what was lost from opening and wiping. Furthermore, when a shop returns the repaired item to the customer it should look like they took pride in their work. Handing it back to them looking like it did when brought in is unacceptable. How many more times will we see the exact same video posted under multiple different channel names? The only thing we see is someone taking a bit of broken scrap, wasting time showing a FAUX "Repair" and turning ordinary "scrap" into vastly more expensive "scrap" that will never be fitted to any engine or put to useful use.

I am going to guess.or, speculate,, Could be stronger than original piece was.
Sorry, but #notbloodylikely.. The issue is loss of design temper / hardness of the axle, which was originally a one-piece forging. This repair will get them back on the road, and may hold up for a good while under light to moderate loads. But if they work it as hard as they did previously

seams over complex most have a circlip you open with pilers and pull it off or if its a split ring you just whack it off with a rubber hammer

Per carità, è inutile saper utilizzare il tornio per fare dei lavori del genere.Un semiasse forgiato in un unico pezzo si è rotto e questi pretendono che tenga con delle saldature ? Nessuno può essere geloso di un lavoro simile . Sarà che i ricambi in quel paese non si trovino ,ma la riparazione è inutile

It pretty obvious that the load limit of the truck is irrelevant and it’s the physical room available to put more on the truck. No wonder the axle broke. It doesn’t matter how good the repair is the axle will be the weakest point in the drive train I suspect it won’t last long given the loads carried.
I've watched like 50 of these Indian machine shop videos and this is the very first one where I have seen someone using an angle grinder with a disc guard attached. Way to go!
