  At this point you are more likely to get a Case with (lets say) errors. That in and of itself is why some other knife manufacturers charge way less for comparable knives. So why is Case twice or more expensive? You can only live off your past accomplishments for so long. I hope Case sets up and takes notice and takes steps to regain their top spot.

  That's unfortunate, I just got my first GEC today and I'm going to be sending it in, the blade has such a bad burr near the pivot that it's digging into the steel liner. You can see metal shavings fall out every time you open/close it... Super disappointed.

  For basic edc tasks, like boxes and stuff like that you won’t have to sharpen K390 for 6 months for real. Just stropping keeps it ridiculous.

  Case hasn't produced a knife that can hold a candle to a GEC since before the 70's and to equal a GEC you would have to go back a couple more decades. I have Case knives from the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's 2010's and none them equal a modern GEC.

  You are the only person I've seen so far do an actual knife review. Most people just twiddle the thing in their hands and never actually show the details in a knife. Please do some more.

  The factory sharpening of my Opinel 8 was chipped up and pretty sloppy. All good though. It works well enough out of the box. However, I will be cleaning the edge up. My Opinel 8 came in a small fiber envelope with Opinel logos, and that was in a soft shipping bag, so there was zero protection during shipping. No damage aside from a small patch of rust which does kinda suck.

  I’d buy GECsif I could find them without having to pay the ridiculous aftermarket prices. What happened to GEC? The availability is not there anymore. Collector knives used to have a dozen models are so available at all times in the past. As far as I know they haven’t listed even one model for a few years.

  Watching this video as my first on your channel. I will say this…. All my Spyderco knives have come more or less great with very few QC issues. PM2, Para 3, Manix 2 LW, RockJumper, Endura SE in VG10 and Endela. Sorry you had a bad experience.

  There is no question that quality has gone downhill at WR Case And Sons. The only thing I can say SOMEWHAT, in their defense, is that they are competing with companies that have fooled a lot of people. If you think that a case knife, or rough ryder, or old timer or whatever can’t cut the same thing that your plastic handled spyderco cuts, which you paid $180 for because the blade is “blah blah super steel”, then you’re part of the problem.

  When I get my SNG fatty spear point after paying it I’m going to use it as my edc. I miss carrying and using a strider. What I actually like about the aluminum handle is that it gets rid of the front screws and gives it a cleaner refined look.

  I love Strider’s, CRK, and knives in general. I used to have many variations I’m so blessed to at least have had them a moment. Right now I got a Custom SMF nightmare grind with groot handle finish. I don’t use that one though it’s a grail, so nice to just handle it. I bought a Monkey Edge SNG frag 3V spear point but I have not used it. I was thrown off by how the handle and blade seem slim to me based off memory of past sng’s I’ve had. Partly the handle is shaped. I miss a beefier sng that i remember so that’s why I recently bought on layaway a strider sng fatty spear point I saw on Arizona custom knives site. I’m still paying it off but I can’t wait to get it. My only other knife in my collection is a Civivi Nox that is an exceptional edc that reminds me of an updated small Sebenza design.

  That ebony #35 isn't the Blade Forums knife, and neither is it a Churchill. It's the Charlie Campagna 10th Harness Jack (also called a Half Scout). There was a Blade Forums version, but that was in Burnt Orange Worm Groove Bone, also a Harness Jack. I have that Harness Jack, but I'm still searching for a Churchill...also in ebony please - what a pair that will make!
