Every Review of Any Solar Generator, should include a test, to determine, if once the battery is completely drained, subsequently after there is sufficient battery charge from solar, will the generator energize the AC outlets automatically on it’s own? In a completely OFF GRID scenario, and No Internet, if you are using the Solar Generator, for example in a cabin, if the battery is drained, you need it to re-energize the AC outlets as soon as it has sufficient charge from Solar. Otherwise, none of the Solar Generators are worth owning, because the owner would be required to be there every day, just in case the battery was drained, in order to turn the AC outlets back on! Which makes it useless! If you have a refrigerator or other important item that needs power, you can not be there every day, it MUST TURN the AC OUTLETS, ON AUTOMATICALLY!! WHY IS THIS NOT A STANDARD TEST COMPONENT IN EVERY REVIEW OF EVERY SOLAR GENERATOR???

I went through 3 Cub Cadets with Kohler engines in 18 years. That is why am shopping again. First Kohler single cylinder cracked block. Known Kohler issue, they did nothing about it. Next Cub blew the transmission. Current 24hp Kohler is dying at 291 hours. Always maintained and stored indoors. I just looked at the JD 110, feels cheap. I won't even consider the CC or Craftsman. Just look at the crappy battery they come with. I have to look at the Husqvarna tonight.

After chasing an irritating intermittent problem of safety switch engine shutdown issues when disengaging the brake, or moving the handles inward or sometimes while mowing on my John Deere 997, I eventually fixed the problem with John Deere Module TCA15625 . It is the Seat Safety Switch delay module. It's intended purpose is to delay action of the seat safety switch to allow for an operator bounce off of the seat momentarily when hitting a rough spot in the lawn. Armchair maintenance guys on the web were missing the target but one person said the dealer changed this after repeated trips to the shop. I finally located my technical manual CD-ROM and sure enough this was in the circuit. Diagrams downloaded from the internet are not the right ones and do not show this module. This item is located in the relay wire bundle on the firewall and held in place by a tie strap under the relay bank. Mine is a four wire version and this is the original replacement part from John Deere. According to my manual there is also a three wire version so check your equipment before ordering this one. It looks like a 1" dia black rubber dust cap with 4 wires coming out leading to a connector. Luckily, my old one had a part number sticker on it TCA15625. It's around $60. Two minute replacement job. I'm not sure if other ZTraks use a similar module. It's worth checking out if you are experiencing a similar problem.

Good video. I do have a question however. I keep hearing that the spindle bearings are sea!ed bearings and that it does no good to pump grease onto that fitting in the housing because it just fills Up the cavity inside but does not get into those sealed bearings. Is this true?

Most of the cheap fin combs you can buy nowadays have too many pins that are too stiff, and they're very hard to use and tend to do more damage than good. I had some good luck with a stiff short-bristled nylon brush, but a wire brush that still has straight bristles (important!) is a good bet.

For warranty more time > more hours for a residential unit. It’ll be parked a lot more than a commercial unit. Some customers may only put 5 hours every other week on a residential unit so the 36 months will go further than the 500 hours.

I have a small generator that I use along with an eco flow delta pro with two extra batteries and some ground mounted solar panels, just went through hurricane Beryl in Houston, Tx…and let me tell you having a small generator made a huge difference, only ran my 13k duromax when we needed to run the well pump for showers…. We didn’t have power for 5 days….. but most of the time the solar would be fully charged by the time we came home if not I would run a small honda 2k generator and that thing sips gas….. rarely ran the big generator… and I just ordered the xpeedingrods 5.5kw 120/240 generator with the 30amp outlet and I’ll be using that more often than not… in 5 days I maybe used 7 gallons of fuel it was lovely, daily the solar runs 2 fridges and a mini fridge and we can do laundry as well and at night it powers a portable a/c…. As far as cooking I had 40 lbs of charcoal 😂 I been through enough storms and b/s to know it’s better to spend some money now than suffer later

Hi, I enjoy your John Deere videos and I've commented on here before, your answers are always helpful. On the D130 or similar, would you recommend a Metric or SAE impact socket set and a 3/8 or 1/2 inch socket set. I would only be using it for my riding lawn mower, I do not work on cars or other machine's, but I did take your advice and bought a Dewalt Impact wrench. Thanks in advance.

The only way to achieve consistent results is to measure axial play via a dial indicator. Timken suggests 1 to 5 thou end play. The difference between castellations on a 1" -14 axle nut is 0.0119" which makes achieving the 1-5 thou very difficult. You are either too tight or too loose. I did an experiment with several techs that go by feel and nearly everyone of them ended up well over 5 thou. I have used axle nuts with 12 notches to provide better resolution. Other methods I have used is arbor shims to dial in endplay to within range. Either way, if you are not measuring, you are guessing.

Last week after a storm I had a power outage for about 40hours, usually they are less then 6 hours, 2 to 5 times a year. I bought 2000W nominal/4000W peak 12V DC to 220V AC pure sine inverter from Aliexpress. It was 90EUR and free shipping in 3 days. I attached it directly to car's battery using supplied leads. So far I tested that I can use 1500W hairdryer for prolonged periods of time >15 minutes, while car is on idle. Simultaneously to 500W resistive load (hair dryer on low setting) inverter can easily start 1KW water well pump, so there is water in the house. When I tried 2000W water boiling kettle, battery voltage quickly dropped below 10.5V and inverter turned itself off. It was because of older car battery or lieds to the battery(that where supplied with inverter), inverter would be able to deliver more. During future outages I plan to use inverter only for essentials - computers, phones, lights, fridge and water well pump. No electrical space heating, cooking, hot water boiler, dishwasher or washing machine, these extras will have to wait until grid power is restored. Car idles quieter than generator and consumes about 1 liter per hour while on idle (average 2liter diesel or petrol engine car). Since I use that car daily - fuel in the tank is always fresh and there is no need to store extra fuel for generators. If there are 20 liters of fuel in car, I can idle it for 10 hours before going to fill up the tank until it is full. Full tank of gas is enough to idle for almost a week. If the 2000W inverter is turned on without any load it consumes about 10W of energy. If you have light load attached - a laptop, few phones charging, led lights in the house (some 100W in total) then you can turn cars engine off, and use those loads for 2 to 3 hours from the battery. After 3 hours you need to start the car to idle for 30 to 45 minutes, and again engine can be turned off. While the car is idling you can use about 1000W on average, and 2000W or more for a very short periods of time, alternator should be able to keep up with demand and recharge the battery. And if you continiuesly use over 500W of power, just keep the car idling, battery will last less than one hour if car is turned off. My fridge on the sticker seas that in consumes 250KWh per year, so it is less than 1KWh per 24 hours. Maybe 40W/h on average. It might have high initial power, or consume 200W while running, but the compressor is running maybe 25% of the time, 75% of the time refrigerator does not consume any electricity. If refrigerator is the only load during the night, car battery should be able to deliver electricity without being on idle for those 8 to 9 hours. Almost all inverters also have few safety features, one of witch is to turn itself off if the battery voltage drops below 10.5V. You will notice it because of an inverter power outage and there should be enough juice in the battery to start the car and charge the battery. In my opinion batteries + inverter is the most convenient and fuel efficient way for loads below 200W, and it is plenty for electronics and lights. But you need to have a way to charge those batteries without. Running smaller 1KW or 2KW generator non stop - to run one refrigerator or charge a phone is very loud and waste of fuel you have to store lots of extra fuel for those special occasions - power outages.
