Hi, I'm Naomi. Come travel with me!
Born and raised in Malaysia, I moved away from my hometown to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur for my tertiary education, then I went away for a semester abroad in Bellingham, Washington - these life moments made me want to see the world even more than I did growing up.
I'm currently based in KL, aspiring to be a modern day nomad. My channel is all about sharing my travel experiences, hoping to spark an interest in seeing the world outside our own (and to make it less intimidating). Sometimes you'll find me doing toilet bowl checks/reviews just because I appreciate bidets and would petition for every hotel and accommodation to have them.
Open to collaboration and sponsorships!

Hello ma'am, I am very happy with your videos, because I have to go to Malaysia (Cyberjaya), how is the environment and communication there, please explain.😊
Hi, we have tropical climate here, that means it's hot, humid, and rainy all year round (pretty stable). The main languages spoken here are English, Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, Hindi...and a variety of Chinese dialect. No need to worry on communication cz people here are mostly friendly and considerate, we will try out best to understand foreigners regardless of accents and language barrier :) Hope you have a good trip!

hi Naomi, I am a uni student from Vietnam and am reading up on scholarship updates. I am wondering if this program's budget will be applied to the US university connected with programs of my own uni in Vietnam or I just have to follow what is included in the program? Could you help me with the question? Thanks sincerely!
Hello! I don't quite understand your question.
i think he wanted to ask like whether the program’s scholarship is applied for the universities that r exclusive for the program only or some other avail uni outside the program.
@@nhatnguyenanh5731 ah, I see! World Learning has a list of partner universities that are part of the program. The university placements will be appointed by World Learning once the finalists have been selected.
1 thing i hate is when my colleague take a sabbatical leave for 6 months, my other colleague said that person who took that leave is weak, not mentally strong, while me im happy for her, what wrong if people want it that way, i kindda afraid of people opinion
Well, the real strong ones are those who recognizes the need for a break (we're not robots) and is courageous enough to take one despite what others have to say. Those who are bitter are really just hurt and scared on the inside, and are just not showing themselves self-love. Your colleague is fortunate to have you who supports her decision :) This life is our own to live, let people say what they want cz they are just insignificant white noise.
@@NaomiNg thats true dont people know yet life is not just limited to be in corporate job to be happy, worthy and successful, for me rel success is a person is so happy, content with their life

Kind of stupidly bureaucratic that they require K-ETA for those who are already at the airport and in transit. The point of a pre-authorization I figured was to avoid dangerous people (e.g. terrorist risk), or people likely to be denied entry from traveling to the country (avoiding the process of returning the traveler). Once there, immigration officers should be capable of making appropriate judgments regarding entry eligibility (one would think even better than whoever is adjudicating K-ETA applications). But again, the immigration rules at this airport (and maybe in South Korea in general) are overly bureaucratic. A pilot KZreadr had to stay in the airport (due to COVID entry restrictions) because he arrived as a passenger to fly a couple days later, whereas if he had arrived as crew he could have entered Korea. I had to stay overnight at this airport once inside the terminal, as my connecting flight to Tokyo was delayed due to Typhoon and re-scheduled for 6:00AM departure, but since the exit immigration checkpoint wouldn't be open in time to make that flight, no one on the flight was allowed to leave the terminal (unless you wanted to take an even later flight). And it was also not possible to leave and return the same evening (while exit immigration and security was still open) because the flight departure was the next day (according to KE staff). Despite the fact that for late night after-midnight departures a next-day departure date is no problem. Apparently this situation wasn't that unusual at that airport (this was 2010)
Hi, Naomi! I've been selected for the Global UGRAD program. Now I'm waiting for the university's decision. Do you remember how long it took for you to receive the information about the university? I'm currently in a double-degree program, so I'm waiting for the lengthy bureaucratic process (which involves agreements among three parties)
Hi Tatsiana! Congratulations on the selection! I mentioned about my timeline in this video, however, things might've changed since it's been years.
@@NaomiNg Thank you for the answer! I'm pretty sure that the timeline was changed. Maybe, I'm just too worried about the process :)
Hi, do you know if you are you allowed to do duty free shopping at Incheon airport if you are at ICN only for transit between international flights?
Hi, of course you're allowed to! There are shops there for a reason ;)
Hi! I have been selected as finalist from GLOBAL UGRAD and got official letter from Fulbright and World Learning. My concern is that, I am currently pursuing my major in Mathematics subject but there in the US, I am looking for pursuing Foreign Service or Economic Diplomacy subject. This is because there is huge difference between course content of mathematics when comparing my home university and US university. similarly, pursuing afore mentioned subject will help me a lot in my career. Can I do this and if yes what should I do?
Hi! Congrats on being a finalist! You will have to take a mixture of subjects related to your major, an elective within or out of your major, and US Studies. I explain about it in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZyHstRucpjIhLg.htmlsi=8LQCchtjVQaY-bro&t=313
@@NaomiNg Thanks!! But my major is Mathematics and I want to pursue Economics as my major and studying subjects like Economic Diplomacy and International Economics. Can I do this after consulting with my advisor and World Learning?
@@bijayregmi1872 It's best to ask your advisor as they would have the answer for you.
Cant believe it's finally done! 🎉😂

Where in Terminal 2 is the 7/11 located? I didn’t notice it the last time I was around
It was near Gate 249 - take an escalator up to the 4th floor (if I recall correctly).

Hi Naomi , I have a question . if they tell you that you are a Finalist and are looking forward to working with you in the coming weeks and months as you prepare for your U.S. exchange experience, does that mean that the decision is final and you got selected ? Thanks .

I have 23hrs layover in Korea next month. This very helpful.
Glad to know that! If you don't need a visa to enter Korea, you could apply for the K-ETA (if needed) and leave the airport for a few hours :)
Hey Naomi, could you tell me about the medical check up, idk how to answer some questions about my health insure and idk what means grant location or grant dates, thank you so much for your videos

Hi, is doing TOEFL as they told me to do, means that i got selected or is there's any future possibility of me not getting selected?
The best confirmation is an official notification of participation. Till then, anything can change.

Hi Naomi!! I recently got an email from the Fullbright Commission of my country stating that I have been selected as a finalist and was asked to take the TOEFL iBT test where I successfully scored 104. This was about 6 days ago when I received my scores. Now, I would like to know the next step, and is it confirmed that I will go to the US under this scholarship?
Hello! They will contact you on the next steps, it should be other paperwork such as visa application and medical checkup. Being a finalist means you've got the scholarship, otherwise you wouldn't be required to take TOEFL.
Nice, thank you for sharing this info about Village Grocery

Hi Naomi! I got chosen for the next step and I am required to do a TOEFL test. May I ask which textbook specifically you got? I’m eyeing on the Official Guide 6th Edition because it’s not that expensive. Others are sooo expensive. 😭
Hi! Congrats on getting to the next step! I didn't get a textbook for TOEFL, I borrowed it from the library. I can't remember which one was it, but they should be very similar in function. So just buy one that's within your budget or borrow one!

@nyiursalsabila7369 hi, well initially i wanted to do mine at home the home ibt version but my laptop crashed so i wasn't able to,good thing they agreed to reschedule for a test center one and it was okay, but for me they arranged us really close together despite the whole room being empty which i hated because people heard what i was saying and i could hear what they were saying...the speaking bit was a bit challenging for me but mainly because of confidence so just be confident ❤❤
