Neal Hallinan

Neal Hallinan

My name is Neal Hallinan. I'm a Postural Restoration Institute credentialed strength and conditioning coach, licensed massage therapist (New Jersey) and perhaps most importantly, someone who suffered from chronic pain through most of my adult life.

This channel was created to help you understand why the science of Postural Restoration is the best explanation for how you move, breathe, and stabilize your body whenever you are upright.

Simply put, when we can no longer move, breathe, and stabilize properly, we end up compensating and it's the compensations that eventually lead to pain. Postural Restoration works by restoring your body's natural patterns of movement in order to eliminate these painful compensations.

I overcame chronic and debilitating pain to live a happy, productive, and fulfilling life.

You can, too.

If you decide you'd like personalized help, I offer some limited on-line Zoom consultations.

    You blew my mind with the standing-breathing relation! I'm a hypermobile singer and certified voice teacher. I do well with breath support when singing, but I am so awful at breathing exercises. I guess lots of compensations happen with vocal tract alignments, together with (over?) active latisimus dorsi and solar plexus when singing. It's also way easier to sing during movement, which I always knew, but now I'm starting to think it has something to do with helping to release unwanted tension in the pelvic to free the diaphragm. Now I wish you were treating closer to me lol

    If you dont like flat floors why dont you go buy a few dump trucks of dirt, rocks, sand, boulders, old fallen logs etc and put it inside your house! Then you will not have flat floors! I hope you realize floors are flat so objects will stay in place - like furniture - and so people who have walking problems like the elderly - wont trip. But you really seem to hate flat floors the way you are going on and on and on about it (which sort of annoys me as obviously floors are supposed to be flat) Or go hire some architect to build you a house with UNflat floors. Like where the floor is all rippled or something. Have no idea how youd get furniture in there. How could a supermarket have the shelves stay upright if the floor was all crooked bumpy and not level? The shelving would fall over. I personally think option #1 is best for you but your landlord would have you evicted. Or you could go live in a cave? I am not neurotypical so I think differently. I think you have several options to fix your flat floor issue.

    Great discussion - I love the passion you both have to getting down to the root of the issues! I'd like to add, respectfully, one wildly overlooked issue that is causing all manner of cellular chaos/destruction. Micr0wave radiati0n (from smart devices/routers/earbuds/CELL TOWERS MAST) causes mast cell activation (LOTS of research on this), bio-electrical and bio-molecular derangement (dysregulation of minerals), mitochondrial dysfunction, neurovascular and neurocognitive damage, chronic inflammation, and connective tissue destruction. EDS is exploding. POTS is exploding. Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue, Mold, Lyme - all of it - on an insane trajectory in the last decade or two - as I know you are both seeing yourselves. Why? Because these issues are all SECONDARY to an irradiated and dis-eased terrain. Microbes of all kinds THRIVE in a WEAKENED terrain of inflammation. Non-native frequencies WEAKEND cellular integrity trigger that inflammation and - along with heavy metals laden foods/waxxeens - have EXPLODED and increased incrementally (and insanely destructively) in recent decades. You should not put a heavy metal laden body a electromagnetic field and yore than you should put a fork in the microwave. SAME concept. Metals in a magnetic field heat up - so logically you can imagine there would be oxidative damage to surrounding tissues/organs. Not to mention the fact that those metals have an electroconvulsive effect on the surrounding nerves/fascia/etc - HELLO MUSCLE SPASMS! Just as the electrodes applied in PT stimulate the spasms - same concept. It is not hyperbolic to say that chronic and ongoing oxidative stress from constant wireless rad exposure is a primary cause for the insane increase in chronic disease in recent years. The levels we are exposed to in the US are illegal in many countries - some don't even ALLOW wifi in schools AT ALL. Smart devices, smart meters, etc. You can't talk about it here - same as waxxeens - it's where all the $$$/power is and they don't much care for being pointed at - and that's a HUGE problem. But hear this for as long as this post is allowed to stand: Long C0VlD IS micr0wave radiati0n poisoning/damage - same as C0VlD. Read or Listen to "The Invisible Rainbow - a History of Electricity and Life." It will clarify SO MUCH for you! So many are desperately chasing microbes and expensive/confusing treatment protocols. My advice is HAND DOWN to START by mitigating your frequency exposure - SO THAT YOUR BODY CAN EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE and HEAL. It's free. Most are too addicted to their tech at this point, however - and the rest don't care to acknowledge the inconvenient objective reality of this threat to wellness that we collectively face. But know this: Non native fields interfere with your cellular communication and biorhythms. Don't freak out though. No room for fear. Just start by not sleeping near your phone/router. Even turning your router off at night. Don't invest in pricy cases, devices or blocking clothing - most are iffy or even harmful. Just work to limit your exposure/dependence. The tech/wireless addiction is the hardest part! And if you want to go deeper - get an EMF meter and REALLY see for yourself what is happening with these invisible forces - and take readings of your most used environments - there are lot's of good ones on the market. Everyone we have shown their cell phone/smart meter/router levels/readings to are horrified. It's criminal what is happening. For a level headed approach, Read "The Non Tin Foil Hat Guide to EMF's". Hopefully this saves someone some trouble on the merry go round of desperation - start by addressing the cellularly-degrading CELLULAR devices in your hand, in your pocket, on your head and in your home, school, work. This is honestly the most overlooked element in chronic dis-ease. And we are NOT ALLOWED to even discuss it - because it IS the missing link. Be lucky if this comment even sticks for long - but always worth a shot to share! Wishing everyone deep and meaningful healing - God Bless!!! 🌿

    Everything you mentioned is worth consideration. I've long thought about the non-naturalness of modern technology and how it could potentially interfere with our normal physiological activity that did not evolve in this type of environment.

  • @inkght
    @inkghtКүн бұрын

    @@NealHallinan I figured you'd get it! You are one of the most logically minded folks I subscribe to - and one of the most capable of big picture thinking. I really value your content. I know it is unpopular to suggest that heavy metals and wifi could cause muscle and neuro-vascular spasms and degeneration - but of course they can and of course they would and of course they do. It's very simple science. We are just not allowed to talk about it. Nor do most even care to consider such a thing - as it is not a comforting thought. But as someone who has gone through that journey and come out the other side - I can't help but share with all who might listen just how deeply - indeed subatomically - that their cellular phones are affecting them cellularly. And as you guys were discussing fear in this video - I also thought I'd mention that these frequencies affect brainwaves - and can and do provoke agitated states of panic/fear - along with the neurovascular/neuro-muscular spasms. In fact, a growing number of parents of children with Autism and children of adults with neurodegenerative conditions, have figured this out. That's how I came to research the topic - mothers dementia nosedived and we all stated getting nosebleeds in 2019. Nosebleeds stopped when we dumped wireless (went totally hardwired) - as did my mothers panic. Anyhow - It's an ugly truth but an important one to share. Thanks for your response - grateful for your open mind in assessing physiology. I think you will really dig "The Invisible Rainbow". Fair warning - those who discuss such things tend to get booted from these platforms. God Bless 🌿

    I see comments here that are saying people were mean, and that the commenter was happy with the advice given. My issue with this type of video, as I've seen other channels doing it, is the title tells you there is a way to release the Psoas in 10 seconds, and the video is more than 34 minutes long. I have been dealing with debilitating pain for one year now (July 2023 to July 2024), and I have seen many doctors, done many types of treatments outside of the traditional medical establishment, and nothing has worked. And the worst part is no one has any idea what my problem is, only telling me what it isn't. So, I am looking for anyone that has a legitimate method of treatment, and then I see a video promising 10 second relief, but it is 34 minutes long.

  • @NealHallinan
    @NealHallinanКүн бұрын

    Actually, the psoas can be released in less than 10 seconds, and I demonstrate exactly how it can be done, but people have to understand what they are seeing. That can't be explained in 10 seconds. It must be given context. And the treatment is called Postural Restoration. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be.

    I've only just begun to watch videos here and learn. So much things! I was born left-handed and forced to be right-handed and have done (unbeknownst to me) stomach gripping my entire life because I was teased about my overweight as a child. So, sucking in my stomach all my life has ruined me. I didn't even know how to breathe properly. (I'm 52 the end of this month.) I just found out that my pelvic floor is weak due to the stomach gripping and started doing exercises to relax my abdominal muscles while learning how to take full, deep breaths. It doesn't help that I am overweight. Even though I've lost over 50 pounds, I'm still at 250 and have hanging skin on my lower abdomen that throws its two cents in the ring by pulling my lumbar into hyper curvature. This perfect storm has resulted in such severe low back pain that I am basically incapacitated. I look forward to learning all about this and plan on seeing the practitioner that is in my hometown. Thank you for this video, hopefully you or someone reading the comments can help with my question. I am a 61 year old male, I have been very fit my entire life, right up until my right side locked up on me seemingly overnight. It has been locked for one year this week (July of 2023 to July of 2024). Now it is difficult to do the usual exercise I had been doing for the past couple of years, similar to the t-shirt phrase, "Your workout is my warm-up". I can only do what I used to do for a warm-up before I experience pain in my low right back and right flank area. The muscles of my right lumbar spine are in a constant spasm, hard to the touch, all day, every day. This translates around my right hip / flank towards my umbilical area. The pain is so bad at times that the only thing I can do is lay on my back, and within 10 to 15 minutes, most of the pain is gone. However, as soon as I stand up, it is right back to where it started. How can I translate what is shown in this video to try to release my right Psoas / flank area?
